He's the mayor of Pattaya not King Canute. -
New Police Chief Appointment Withdrawn from Consideration

I am not sure about that, Did he expect the job? The top job usually goes to the cop who has only a year or maximum two to go before retirement. That puts that Big joke in the bracket as a bit young for the job I would say. Dunno, maybe I am wrong. -
Watching both the video and reading the full story this creep is harassing the young girl. She told him very clearly on at least three times she wasn't interested. I don't agree with another poster saying this is how we all used to behave as youngsters, This isn't the same as sending a drink over in a bar or introducing yourself in a public space. He wasn't taking no for an answer and could have been worse in the darker hours.

Opinion: Dear Pheu Thai, please stop your pantomime
Scouse123 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The main objective has got to be for any party to run a civilian democratically elected government properly is to get those dinosaurs out of the Senate or they will just continue blocking any moves forward for the country that doesn't suit them or their agenda. It's a total, complete, corrupt mess. -
First Thai relationship, any advice?
Scouse123 replied to ozthai23's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
It looks to me and its certainly occurred to the OP with comment's about " too sore " but haven't done anything and up till 2am allegedly on the phone elsewhere when she says she is studying, that he thinks something is amiss here. Trust your gut feeling. Never mind the romance.???? -
First Thai relationship, any advice?

I was thinking that, in her twenties going on 14 in her brain. The writing is already on the wall and the bleating of " But I really. Like her " is just somebody setting themselves up for a fall. -
Prayut asks me to move past conflicts : Srettha
Scouse123 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The Move forward party, the peoples choice would have been a refreshing change if they had managed to ' clean ship ' of all Prayut's cronies, an uphill battle. Their ideas and objectives were well meaning but sadly the will of the people means nothing to these lot in power nor to the next lot coming in to take their place. The country is a basket case in terms of government. -
Prayut asks me to move past conflicts : Srettha
Scouse123 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
This is why past prime ministers fight like hell and have to be ushered out the door, because they are well aware that there will be a flurry of lawsuits for their misdeeds once the new government gets established. The problem for any future government, as well as it being a coalition, is Prayut has done a good job loading the senate with cronies and generals to try to block any charges of wrong doing levied against him -
How should I deal with a very persistent Thai male?
Scouse123 replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I've had a case myself of one of the local BIB has lost his marbles and seeks me out. When I was drinking I could be found at the local mom and pop shop having a beer whilst waiting for food that was getting done at the BBQ stand next door. The cop knew this and used to zoom in on me, it used to get a bit embarrassing when he would stand in the street and salute me. He was always asking for a couple of separate cigarettes ( the shop still sells them like that ) or a bottle of milk or a coke, nothing major. He was turning up every day. It's small money, but he just wouldn't go away. I've stopped drinking so I am managing to avoid him now. Everybody knows he's not well. I told my other half that this guy also was still wearing uniform and carrying a gun, she said not to worry they don't allow him to load it with bullets. True story. -
My cousin did it recently in the UK after he succumbed to cancer. I'd never heard nor thought about it.

Phuket Landlord Shocked At Damage Caused By Foreign Tenant
Scouse123 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I'm with you on this, surely leaky roof is for the owner and just short of 700,000 baht buys a helluva lot of furniture. You could have it handmade to measure for a lot less than that. -
Justice Ministry Accused Of Granting Undue Privileges To Thaksin
Scouse123 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It is true that people can be taken outside from the Medical corrections hospital when they don't have the equipment ore facilities to care for them properly. They of course do not appoint six doctors to take care of their well being nor do they use a helicopter for the transportation. -
Justice Ministry Accused Of Granting Undue Privileges To Thaksin
Scouse123 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It isn't the fact that he is getting preferential treatment as an ex prime minister and controversial character , it's the fact that they are denying it, when it's as plain as the nose on your face. Those walking around waving placards as token resistance to this treatment need to stop wasting their energy. -
Then why use Bang Kwang as an example instead of using Klong Prem prison where he actually was supposed to be incarcerated? It's also fairly obvious to any being that walks upright that as an ex prime minister he wasn't going to be treated like any normal criminal the majority who are in prison on drugs offenses. A point that most posters understand. His offenses would be considered to be white collar crimes.

I have managed to be in the country and run a successful business and been here 30 years and also managed to be with the same partner for 27 years. Further managed to get myself educated and learn the Thai language and also managed to educate two girls , one who has finished university and the second, just about to finish this next year. I didn't need sin sod, I think I have managed to assimilate myself reasonably well. Ladies have value? Does that mean that males don't? What a weird thing to say. And here you go again with your posts,..... back to petty or snide insults. Can you not debate without sliding into insults or pretending you have a superior intellect or background? Because I doubt you do.

You and the other guy resort to the name calling when other people do not share your views on tipping, you then try to force these views but belittling people who have different or opposing views. Why don't you start a forum?
