  1. Very sad reading for a man with a fabulous career and his golden days ahead of him. RIP.
  2. Damn, I'm only on 52.
  3. What a weird announcement to make from a senior police officer.
  4. One thing we all know here is that access to guns and dangerous weapons is far too easy in Thailand, more so that it is in neighboring countries in this region. Also, far too many people have them in their possession illegally and far too many youngsters know exactly where to purchase or acquire them.
  5. Unbelievable! Shame on the Temple and its leaders.
  6. I stopped on June 19trh, how long is that now????? Must be coming up to 7 weeks! Mind you, I am doing it for ' weight reasons ' not ' alcohol problem related ' reasons.
  7. A right angle?
  8. The food is good and a lot of it we cook at home. The weather is good as a rule although sick of mosquitos at the moment. Electric bills are cheap and so is fuel. Where I live is lazy, peaceful and laid back. Nobody rushes which is annoying at times, but great at other times. Nobody takes life too seriously and plenty of smiling faces even when they have little compared to the West. I like the fact that it is Buddhist as opposed to other religions. A big house that is very affordable in Thailand what you would struggle to have in the UK, without being a slave to utility bills and taxes. Very handy for beach resorts in Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. I can think of far worse places to be. Watch the traffic, stay away from the local constabulary as much as possible and try not to get too involved with alcohol and cigarettes. Live your best and healthiest life.
  9. Well said that man. He just needs to make sure his driver is up to speed with who he is handing the goodies to. We don't want another ' box of chocolates ' episode.
  10. What a poor response to a post when you cannot find anything that is untrue. I make that Game, set and match.
  11. I have downloaded the app thanks to assistance here. When she returns next week, I will register here through the app. Any hiccups, we will just take a trip and day out to Kalasin city, it's only 1 hour away and a change of scenery! Thank you
  12. Hi, I didn't have section 38, I don't think so anyway. I think I had the immigration e services?? I deleted the app because it wouldn't let me in at all, and I thought I could reinstall on Play store but it isn't there. I've not used to report or anything as its very rare I am here continuously for 90 days.
  13. I have done as you said and it is now on my phone. Thank you very much.
  14. I have just deleted my old immigration app and now cannot find a replacement to download in Play store. I will just have to go to Kalasin.
  15. And once again, That is how Thais fight. Pack mentality and you and I won't change it. In Hanoi, Vietnam they use bottles over the head as the preferred response. No Queensbury rules there!
  16. I love the concept of being minimalist but when it comes to it I won't throw my memories away much of which are tied up in ornaments etc and nor will my other half let me. My son is minimalist and when I visit him in the UK I envy and admire how he does it. Anyway, I have a big house for the two of us, so the clutter can stay.
  17. Some of us are old school and love paper documents and files to flick through. I do and I have computers, i pads, android and Google Phones.
  18. Nothing special. What you saw was simply and example of how Thais fight. They consider it as (1) Standing by their friend and colleague and (2) The foreigners had the advantage of size so they took advantage of their numbers. No serious harm done. British guy should have kept his hands to himself. Yes, over reaction, but it is the norm.
  19. Beer in, wits out. Just another day in Paradise. No major damage done. Dad should have kept his slaps to himself. The Thai doormen will overreact as they are not trained for such events and usually better off as night watchmen or security on housing estates.
  20. We have a spare house on our land which we just rented yesterday for a year to a Filipina national who is coming to work for a big company nearby. She has signed the contract, got her copies and paid a deposit and just gone off to Bangkok to sort her affairs and returns next Monday to take up occupancy. Do we now inform Kalasin immigration of this arrangement? Last people in there were my other half's Thai family a long while ago. This is one house on our land, we are not professional landlords who rent out properties as a business.
  21. Show me what is nonsense in any of the above post or what is not true You made a statement, back it up.
  22. Agreed but it doesn't happen here. The courts follow whoever is calling the shots and at the moment, it's the military.
  23. I would and will still use Qatar, Emirates or Etihad in favour of this partnership.
