  1. I don''t know, pretty evident to me: Expats vaccinated in Thailand the subject says. But it appears others have used their countries vaccine certificate and successfully registered for this free e-Certificate. One can only try. Peace
  2. I don't wish for a tit for tat with anyone, but I think we can all trace our countries roots back to King's, Dictators, Czars, Presidents, Prime Ministers and yes, Military Dictators, my point was 'we' can't do anything about it, as we can't vote in this 'quasi democracy/dictatorship'. We all have our reasons for calling Thailand home, it has been mine on and off since 1972. and if you have been associated with Thailand as long as I have, you have seen it all. Peace
  3. Thanx but I do not intend for my money to outlive me, I am going to do whatever I can to spend it all before I tap out. Peace
  4. 'We' I'm confused, maybe I missed something - what do 'We' have to do with it, unless you are a Thai National 'We' have nothing to say - their country, their rules. Peace
  5. I just checked the Subject: I was referring to a comment made about Ferrari Joe, not Red Bull young man............Joe is in jail, rich and has a lot of police friends in high places - it could happen as I described. and yes, I liked your comment because I do have a wild imagination, thats what got me where I am today. Nuff said. Peace
  6. In shackles, by prison staff. There lies the weak link, with the kind of mon ey and connections he has, it would be an easy task to overcome the 'prison staff' who were paid a princely sum to 'be caught off guard' while he is whisked away, on a plane and out of the country. There are ailments the Prison Medical staff can't take care of.......................This is not fantasy, it can happen.
  7. Today my friend, he is in jail, tomorrow?? One never knows, methinks he will do a runner while out on a medical or some other reason.
  8. When they produce only half the pork they did in 2019, prices are bound to rise, to their advantage, we call that anti-trust in the US....................Peace
  9. I watched two guards exchanging uniforms during a shift change............later I asked one if the company provided the uniforms, he said "chai, but we have to pay for them out of our paychecks." Yuck.
  10. I knew a tattoo artist in the US Army, he was a draftee, would practice on himself. Once he tatooed his social security number inside his bottom lip in a mirror.........backwards. Ouch, that must have hurt, before his duty was up, he had tattooed the entire USA Map on his tongue, top & bottom..............what talent................or not...............Peace
  11. Because he knew how to play Robin Hood as well...................he would take five pieces of gold, and give the poor one. I miss him.
  12. If you are I interested in Mexico, but not the night life of Mexico City or Acapulco, try Lake Chapala above Guadalajara - has been a good retirement location for North American for over 30 years........ https://internationalliving.com/countries/mexico/lake-chapala-mexico/ I had a friend that worked in Merida at the US Consulate as a Security Officer while they were building the new office spaces........they came to work one Monday morning to find a pickyup truck parked in front of the Consulate with nine headless bodies of Policemen in it, with a note written in blood. - "Yanqui go Home Death to DEA". ruined their whole day with that one. Of course the local hired Security Officers 'knew nothing'. ???? ???? ???? ????
  13. True Story, I was 17 and worked in the Viking Hotel, Newport Rhode Island - was a server working a Saturday night, forgot my tie and went to Frank Sinatra's table to serve their Prime Rib. Hotel owner apologized to Old Blue Eye's himself and fired me on the spot. Nancy, his Daughter piped up and said "Oh, Uncle Mark, please don't fire him, he looks pretty cool like that". saved my job for about 2 weeks, then I got the pink slip. I joined the Army a month later, this was 1967. and No, I have never been fired again, nor have I ever been unemployed, am a ''Triple retiree' now, very well 'pentioned' after working almost 55 years of my life.
  14. Happy New year Rooster, a pleasure not having to read anything Covid related for a change, my reading radar gets activated whenever it detects Covid this or Covid that, variant number nine et etc etc. Year of the Gold Tiger, my year born 1950, hope to get back to LOS soon. Swasdee Pee Mai
  15. Yep, That'll bring them running to Thailand for a vacation, almost had name booking a flight as soon as I read it.????
  16. Update, Wise now accepts applications from USA, I was able to create one...........with PayPal being shut down in Thailand, Wise appears the way to go - I won't abandon my 'tried n true' bank Xfer via SWIFT - but this looks like a quick way to get money transferred in. - Jury is still out. ????
  17. SCB is my main bank. - had a Bangkok Bank acct w/New York branch but probs caused me to canx it, they no longer accepted my monthly SSA deposit for some silly reason.........took months to sort that out. I always report in Remarks: of the transfer bank "For living expenses" for large transfers (over 500,000 baht) put it in an "For Condo Purchase" so there are no questions when you actually want to use it to purchase a condo. With SCB $$ is typically available in a day or so...........haven't tried a Wise account yet, jury is still out on that - when I tried to create an account a year ago, an error popped up. "Not available in your location yet". I am in USA at the moment.
  18. Sorry if I am posting in the wrong place, but this was the closest I could find (Audio) Some years ago, a gentleman used to have a Radio broadcast hour on Thai Visa forum, I can't remember his name so I can't search very well for it. Anyone know who he was and can we still find his broadcast on the new forum Asean Now?? Thanx in advance
  19. My friend took it in afternoon on arrival 29 Nov, and was called next morning saying he was good to go and he hit the bricks in Bangkok at noon............Peace
  20. In US most States now will require un-vaxed folks that work to be tested every week while on the job, at. their own expense............for whatever reason they decide not to be vaccinated that will be a monetary pull out of their wallets they should consider. Their reasons are theirs alone, I have no say in any of that - but I am triple vaxed, and if they call me tomorrow to take a fourth - I will be first in line. Got Shingle's, Pneumonia, Flu and Covid vaccinations....all Old Farts diseases......discover another disease and bring it on, slip me the juice Doc. Vaccination that is. ???? ???? ???? ????
  21. I went to the Mariot with about a dozen others on Valentines Day, 2004, showed up at 1100 and we spent the whole day, ate till we dropped, and got snickered on free champagne, wine, whiskey you name it............There was also an Indian Resturant, Queen's Tandoor that had a super sized Buffet, all you can eat for one price .................... Those were the days. - I wonder if Block M is still open??
