  1. The state of emergency has been in place since way before Prayut. I believe since around 2004. Don't blame Lung Tuu for the situation. Thaksin and his puppets are the ones who created this mess.
  2. As a passport holder of one of the mentioned nations, I approve of this news. Seriously starting to think about a short trip from Thailand to China next year.
  3. I don't really care of they are back in LOS or not, though their presence is good for the economy. As I live in the deep south among Muslims, the only foreigners that dare to visit here are Arabs, Malaysians and Indonesians, plus the occasional African English teacher.
  4. That's easy for Musk to say. If I had his net worth, I could and would also choose not to work.
  5. Where's the updates, Captain Steve? Your potential customers deserve an explanation why there's still nothing, nor ships, on the horizon. Pun intended.
  6. Masha Allah! The gold shop owner was a fortunate man. Insha Allah there will be no more heartbreak and suffering in the beautiful Fatoni region.
  7. Sad to see my home province being in such a state. I'm overseas now, but will return to Narathiwat next week. Hopefully, there won't be any follow-up incidents in the short term.
  8. I can only say: stay on the west coast, i.e. Krabi, Trang, Satun. The east coast is soaking wet in November and December. Source: just believe me.
  9. I had great speed with the AIS package I bought last year. It was very expensive though and I'm looking to get better value for money. I have an old Xiaomi Android phone btw. Not sure if it can even accommodate an eSim. 4G is the maximum speed for sure.
  10. Here's the deal: I'll be traveling to Western Europe (2 different countrues) in October and I'm wondering whether to get a Ready2Fly package or a Sim2Fly SIM card (eSIM or regular SIM). I'll be there for 18 days including arrival and departure dates, and I need at least 5 GB 4G internet, plus some affordable phone call minutes. The R2F bundles of my carrier, AIS, are pretty expensive when including phone calls. Last year I paid about 3800 baht for their "Hot" package. This year I've been looking into a Sim2Fly SIM card. What do you think suits my needs best?
  11. Here in Mueang District we have barely seen any rain over the last five days. Our plants could surely use some.
  12. You left out Pattani, Yala, Betong, Narathiwat and Sg. Kolok.
  13. Same here. I teach in Thailand and it's the end of the first school term. As usual, I always seem to get sick right after classes have finished. This time is no exception.
  14. I hope that one day a comprehensive ferry service across the Gulf of Thailand is going to happen, but it won't be with the current operators or fleet, I'm afraid.
  15. Outside of Pattaya they're just called for what they are: brothels. All gentlemen live in Pattaya; you know that already.
  16. You can always try. I got my fourth waiver after six full years. If you can show sufficient personal development and a desire to get your educational credits, I'm pretty sure you can get number four.
  17. Another dead ferry service. I told Captain Steve multiple times that perhaps it would be best to enjoy his old age and retire, instead of wasting his millions on non-viable ferry routes.
  18. There are no flights between Trang and UTP, so she will have to fly to Bangkok DMK.
  19. If you cannot resist attractive students, then please, don't become a teacher. If you cannot resist someone younger than 18, perhaps it's time to seek professional help.
  20. I'm still trying to find out how the heck to get qualified in Thailand as a foreigner. Surprised to learn about an exam, as I had read this exam was been cancelled earlier this year and replaced by an online course offered by the Teacher Council of Thailand (TCT).
  21. I teach that age group. If a girl would try touching me like that, I'd politely decline and tell her she shouldn't do that to anyone, let alone her 40+ year old male farang teacher.
  22. All girls wear hijab and long sleeved clothes. None of the men at school, even their classmates, are allowed to touch them anywhere. It's strictly enforced. But, as I said, I'd never touch any minor girl, or student of mine, anywhere. Goes against my ethics.
  23. As a fellow teacher in Thailand, this disgusts me. You should never lay your hands in any way on your students, no matter their age. I teach 12 to 15 year olds at an Islamic school and I cannot for the life of me imagine even touching the girls. I feel bad already if there's any skin-to-skin contact and try to avoid it. Even if I taught 18+ year olds, I'd stay far away. With a minor, it's even worse. At the very least, this guy should be deported and blacklisted.
  24. Songkhla would be my choice, but make sure you speak some Thai there.
