  1. Halal coffee is the best. Very good eye for quality alhamdulilah.
  2. Just calling an airport "international", doesn't actually make it so. NST has zero chance of seeing an increase in international tourist numbers any time soon.
  3. Did she cause those waves herself, jumping her big farang body into the sea?
  4. What about Europeans who are not from one of the mentioned countries? Are we still allowed to visit Malaysia by just filling out the MDAC?
  5. We noticed this when driving back home from Hat Yai to Narathiwat yesterday. Lots and lots of Malaysian bikers, treating the 42 and 43 as their personal raceway. Quite a few precarious situations, but thank God we made it home safely.
  6. Disgusting people, the Chinese. Eating plates full of shrimp with their bare hands, pooping in public, spitting on the streets, singing false karaoke songs and butchering female babies, that the Good Lord himself brought into being. Thailand would be wise to just call a stop to the Chinese, Korean, Russian, Indian, A-rab a.o. invasion and allow more white European western caucasian fair-skinned farangs, especially Brits and Aussies, into the country, as well as African-American, retired military, US passport "bros". These are good, rich people that can make lost of beautiful mixed-race babies that can repopulate Thailand and solve the problem of Thai chicks not popping out enough babies by wife-beating, serial cheating, lazy Thai guys, and build many new expensive tier 1 international schools with their foreign money and speed up Thailand's entry into modern society, ready for the rest of the 21st century.
  7. There was flooding last year and there is flooding this year, whereas for decades there was no such problem. It's almost a given that human activities have contributed to this misery. My wife and I managed to keep dry feet last year, but this year my rental home got a few cm of water inside, having some minor flood damage. We expect even worse it the years to come and will have to take our precautions accordingly. If you live elsewhere in Thailand, don't get your hopes up either. Greater Bangkok is slowly sinking into the rising sea for sure.
  8. I live more than a thousand clicks outside of Bangkok and prefer to not go there. Sometimes it's necessary obv.
  9. Heavy rain today in the lower south and many roads are flooded.
  10. Living in Wilayah Narathiwat, I spoke to my friends here, including imams. We believe this man was mentally ill, simply for the fact that in Islam it is forbidden to commit suicide: "And do not kill yourselves,” says the Holy Qur'an (nor kill one another). “Allah is, without a doubt, most merciful to you” (Surah al‐Nisa, 4:29). And Allah knows best. أمين
  11. So sad. The locals don't want this, but the govt keeps pushing these business proposals. I am one of those locals and know firsthand how people resist the efforts to spoil their homeland. Miss Khairiyah is a brave young lady to speak up for her community. Hopefully, nothing bad will happen to her but I ain't betting money on it.
  12. Testing my students, as it'll be midterm week. No Christmas holidays here.
  13. Doesn't it have to be filled out three days before the intended border crossing?
  14. That sucks. I live very close to the Thai-Malaysian border and this curbs the possibility of deciding on a whim to do some cross-border shopping, for example.
  15. The clock is ticking. Don't be surprised if TS walks out of the 'prison' hospital on Dec. 5 or 6. The order has probably been written already by The German.
  16. Maybe it's the soft assets of some well-endowed Thai service providers?
  17. There are no girlie bars in Padang Besar. You must be thinking of the nearby border at Ban Dan Nok.
  18. The state of emergency has been in place since way before Prayut. I believe since around 2004. Don't blame Lung Tuu for the situation. Thaksin and his puppets are the ones who created this mess.
  19. As a passport holder of one of the mentioned nations, I approve of this news. Seriously starting to think about a short trip from Thailand to China next year.
  20. I don't really care of they are back in LOS or not, though their presence is good for the economy. As I live in the deep south among Muslims, the only foreigners that dare to visit here are Arabs, Malaysians and Indonesians, plus the occasional African English teacher.
  21. That's easy for Musk to say. If I had his net worth, I could and would also choose not to work.
  22. Where's the updates, Captain Steve? Your potential customers deserve an explanation why there's still nothing, nor ships, on the horizon. Pun intended.
  23. Masha Allah! The gold shop owner was a fortunate man. Insha Allah there will be no more heartbreak and suffering in the beautiful Fatoni region.
