    My friend just moved from Australia to the city of Chaophraya Surasak five months ago He would recommend it to anyone. Clean air, western comforts, not too touristy, and good connections to other places in Thailand, most notably Bangkok. Chaophraya Surasak, people, check it out!

    Somewhere in the south like Songkhla would be my choice if I were single and about to retire. Quiet, but varied in culture and nature. Good air quality and hot, but similar weather throughout the year. Hat Yai is close by for your shopping needs and if you need a flight elsewhere.

    I'm wondering if any of my fellow white caucasian western farangs are finding themselves in trouble in Chiang Rai, as in having their homes flooded and cars/bikes/other property damaged? My white European farang friend lost everything. He wishes to find some people with similar experience.

    I live in the heart of the insurgents' area, deep in Narathiwat Province. If the Thai soldiers dare to come here, they will get a warm welcome. They are too scared for that.

    I used to be an unemployed teacher at home. Now I am an employed teacher in the land of smiles.

    As a teacher I often teach private classes to my female students, aged 13-15. I know where to draw the line though and never display any inappropriate behavior. Even a simple touch is out of the question. I wish all teachers were like me.😄

    Just two weeks I may have visited the same shop, when driving there from Yala with the missus. The shop came recommended by her.

    Wrong. A lot of people, especially young people, DO care. There will come a day of reckoning, sooner or later, when the pavement of life will be painted red by the blood of the martyrs of the revolution.

    My Thai wife hates PT/Thaksin and everything they stand for. Unfortunately, being a civil servant, she also dislikes MF/PP as she is afraid they may cost her her job. She actually misses "Lung Tu" (Prayut), as I imagine many civil servants do. 800 baht would never be an incentive to go vote a certain way. Nor should it be.

    Thaksin supporters are mostly Isaan grannies, whom nature will take care of sooner or later. PT WILL be wiped out in the next election, unless they manage to do something significantly good. Fat chance of that happening though.
