  1. True but then Mr Thaksin may want to settle some scores should his daughter become PM
  2. Easy solution. Change the law to allow employers of illegals to be criminally charged. Then put the Big Joke in charge of rounding them up. I remember after the last coup the Greens announced their plans to do something similar. Within a week all the migrants had left the country. High-rises in my neighbourhood under construction we're completely deserted. It took some powerful interest to get them to change course and months before all the migrant construction workers came back.
  3. This should add to the confusion. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-thailand-economy-gdp-idUSKBN20B07I
  4. There was a huge spike that boosted GDP from the Transport sector in 2019. I assume that was from Chinese tourists which then cratered with the COVID. Another spike was in Ag which I don't know what to attribute to.
  5. Thailand was growing slower than most of its neighbours before the COVID and with this gov's policies that won't change.
  6. Very true. The widow has closed the purse to Republicans. She knows they can't deliver with Biden in office. Politics in the United States is entirely transactional. Then they endlessly harp on other's corruption.
  7. Seems to me the "Royal Household" take direction from the tabloids. Is there a bigger cancel culture institution than this clownshow? If you've been in combat you're not allowed to wear a uniform but Princess Anne is. Thankyou for your service, 555. Any true comparisons between personal lives would leave Charles the one disqualified from holding any titles. Well maybe King Tampon. I think I'm ready to give this lot the boot and have my country become a republic.
  8. Those things happen because of crooked politicians taking down trade barriers and tariffs for a fee from the multi-national business community. You must be disappointed that you missed out on the days of slavery. Although it's still happening on fishing boats working out of Thailand so that must warm your heart.
  9. $1.30hr. I was making more than that working a summer job as a kid 50+ years ago. Minimum wage where I am from has gone up more than 10 fold since then. Growing wages leads to capital investment which strengthens a country's economy.
  10. There were more farang and they were hassled less when her party was last in power. What are you basing your statement on?
  11. Headed east the return is 13h5m. Last time I went non-stop was 18h plus a 24h mechanical delay L.A.-BKK on ThaiAir. Vancouver is my preferred routing to Thailand so I hope it is still running when I'm ready to travel.
  12. I think the Thai Rath reporting that Interpol Red Notices have been in place for years is very suspect.
  13. I sure hope the Murdochs get hammered with an Alex Jones type verdict for the damage they did to that company and democracy there in general
  14. You act like being gay is a bad thing. It's not. Trying to hide the fact you are is hilarious and should be treated that way. Graham has taken a terrible position on gay marriage so his being vilified in a humourous manner is well earned.
  15. No surprise Ms Graham voted no or did she miss it while hiding in the senatorial cloakroom?
  16. Canada just announced it will start taxing Bay Street corporate stock buybacks. No one jumping off skyscrapers as of yet.
  17. Try looking in mirror and you will find. Of course course she was her brothers puppet. That is exactly what her voters wanted. Prem was much more subtle as a puppet master. As for Bangkok a good portion of the people living there vote in other provinces
  18. Apparently she will hold onto her congressional seat so that she can continue to contribute to the family's insider trading efforts
  19. Funny then that Yingluck crushed him in the vote count. Abhisit was nothing more than a figurehead/puppet. Aside from some hardcore royalists and fringe fascist farangs he had no real base of support
  20. That's a low blow. After 160 years my people left there once the domestic terrorists took over.
