In reality I would think the Shins are very far from finished.
The general is trying to prevent mention of Thaksin and all things like this do is keep the clan in the limelight.
And I am sure they still have millions of followers which is a thorn in the side of the "interveners".
Keep them out of the media and it's possible it may have some effect bit I doubt it!
When you get these sorts of useless, desperate attempts that really just serve to highlight how close they are to scraping the bottom of the barrel. Then anyone with a half a brain cell knows it is game over.
Prayuth can never allow a Shin back in power, or any party seen to be aligned with Thaksin, because he knows full well that within a year or two Thailand will be back at square one. people will be back on the streets and people will be dying again. The country will once again be ripped apart and we will be looking at another downward spiral to another civil war alert footing.
The moment there is even a sign of a Shin coming back, millions will be screaming blue murder at Prayuth.
The peopl have had enough... It is 2014. People are a lot more educated and in the know because of social media.

This is getting funnier by the day.... I was wondering how much stronger their case was than the stupidly embarrassing case they attempted to produce yesterday, but alas, it is just as stupid, if not stupider.
I truly believe these so called lawyers get their training from watching courtroom dramas right out of Hollywood. I have news for you guys..... It is fiction in the movies.
Anyway, why the hell are PTP and their backward lawyers still running around and clambering over each other to kiss Shinawatra butt?.... They are long finished. No more bones to be thrown.
They really should be a lot more proactive... I would be now looking at which arse to kiss next.... If I were a PTP lawyer.

A very sad story indeed, and all we have to attempt to counter these disgusting acts is to flood the area with 2,700 more guns.
You really would have a tough time making something like this place up.
The mother's husband was a defence volunteer when he was murdered. Difficult to ascertain if the family are Muslim or Buddhist. Many Thai Muslims have a Thai (Buddhist) name, although the Thai ID card does document the religion of the holder.
Yup, and they just produced 2,700 new defence volunteers to be used as target practice and a nice little extra source of weapons to be taken by the insurgents.
I don't think religion matters down there... Since when has someone's religion got in the way of a radicalized insurgent intent on murder? You just need to look at the middle east.
I would say that of all the people murdered by Islamic fundamentalists across the world well over 90% are other muslims.

Well the Thais always seem to think a flood is a great event.
I can remember the 2010 floods in Korat, their homes were washed with a meter of stinky water and they all seemed to think it was all a bit of fun.
I didn't.

Not ready for such changes?
What.... equality and fairness for all?
What you mean is that you want to continue your exploitation and abuse of migrant workers. Nothing to do with the general workforce.
Are you watching America?

The prosecution's case hit a snag when the Federal Court reprimanded Muhammad Shafee Abdullah for submitting a Thai scientific report.
He was reprimanded because everyone knows that anything coming from Thailand is irrelevant, as it is almost certainly a load of old <deleted>.

Racial discrimination.... does anyone in Thailand know those words?
Do you know the meaning of the word "race"?
Well considering that the topic is about migrant workers which are of a different 'race' as Thais. Then I am assuming he does understand the word race as his comment is 100% pertinent.
The actual irony is YOUR statement which indicates that YOU don;'t seem to assimilate the word race with his comment for some strange reason.

Thai news just gets more bizarre by the day.
Most days i tell myself, "well..... That has got to be the most insane yet".... Then it gets bettered a day or two later... So I have come to the conclusion that in fact, there is no limit to Thai stupidity.

Because without Thai expertise, the Israeli economy would crash in six months.

Its not up to Thai steel manufacturers to go testing imported products for quality conformity. It is up to the relevent safety standards agency.
China makes many things in different grades. Mostly 3 grade bands... A, B and C. This includes steel.
I can assure you, having imported many different things from China by the container full for over 15 years. I can guarantee without a shadow of a doubt that steel is made to several standards and is made accurately to order.
If Thais order the cheapest grade (which they do with most stuff from China) then of course it is not going to be graded and certified for building, structural etc..... It is going to be for railings etc.....
This buffoon is merely trying to get a ban on competition. Nothing more, nothing less.... Because that is how greedy Thais operate.
End of.

So many things are wrong here.
-Jet skis should not be on any Phuket beaches, period. If this was enforced, the points below would be moot.
-All jet skis ridden require a Thai captains license, this Russian did not have one, the same as every other jet ski renter in Phuket. Why isn't Marine 5's boss enforcing existing laws on the books? The answer is rhetorical and it's all about the baht.
- Conditions were far too dangerous for the jet ski clowns to even consider renting them out.
-Why isn't there a better medical procedure used for conditions like this? Seriously taking the guy to Patong, then deciding to transfer to Vachira, really doesn't cut it. Why wasn't he taken straight away to one of the private hospitals? Ambulances should be stationed not more than 5-10 minutes away. This is a holiday island with first world prices for goods and services, yet 3rd world medical emergency services.
-Marine 5 boss calling this an "accident". No it's not an accident, it's a serious incident due to your dereliction of duty by not enforcing laws that are on the books for some reason unbeknownst to the general public. Shame on Marine 5 and it's lack of a backbone on the jet ski issue.
Because of the mere fact jetskis were available for rental in the first place means that cash has changed hands.
Just better get used to the idea, where corruption is involved, absolutely nothing will come of this apart from a funeral.

H will be out before he is 30, I can guarantee it. Free to enjoy the rest of his life.
He will never be safe if this is how he acts at this age, he will be a lost cause.
Put him out of his misery.

Yep..... wait till we paint over the logo, then blame the incident on Chinese lanterns.

Thailand needs to learn much more before it can be the "Hub".
But then again, what competition does Thailand have ? Not a lot.
Indonesia, with its much bigger and cheaper workforce, and probably more efficient too, as for trading of manufactured goods goes.
Singapore as far as financial trading is concerned.
I would probably say Vietnam and Phil;s would be up there with the vastly superior agricultural advancements in Vietnam and the English speaking capabilities of Phils
Just more BS being trumpeted out of Bangkok as usual.

POPULISM!!!!!!
100%
This shower should NOT be running Thailand. they clearly have no clue what the **** they are doing.
What's the betting that Prayuth will declare before the next election that he is going to form a party and stand as party leader. Once he is confident he has bought enough votes.

Yet another 'let's throw money at the problem' crazy idea because they basically don't know what else to do.
Money is not going to stop evil men who are fanatically radicalized from doing what they want to do...... Kill infidels.
The stage is set down there and nothing... not even 10 trillion baht is going to do a damn thing to stop anything while there are non-muslims living in that area and they don't have their silly islamic state in the south of Thailand.

Those seven points will be laughed out in pretty short order. I am already laughing my ass off.
If these are supposed to be lawyers, I would suspend their licenses, they are not fit to practice.

Any persons know to be holding information on this investigation should treated as suspects , the D.S.I have to step in to much covering up.
With all the cameras on that island and no one can identify the number 9 in video shaking hands with David (yeah right )
The police are geeting a lot more pressure on them now and I honestly think Prayuth no a lot more than we are hearing i am sure he would have an undercover investigation ongoing.
The Leg chains have been removed from the suspects that is telling something .
There are too doubts about the DNA especially after the comedy show the other day .
Why wont the police let the UK carry out all DNA testing on all eveidence .
This Is not going to end nice for the a lot of police involve in this investigation.
Also when will the UK police confirm that they were happy with the way Thai Police investigation was done and that they would have done it the same way ?
The UK police will not say a word until their official inquiry begins in January.
By then the suspects will still not be in court.
If there is a lot of doubt on the other side of the world, then this is going to end up hard core diplomatic, because the British public and the media will make sure of it.
I can see it pretty much hurting Thailand a hell of a lot.

The employers fine is now £20,000, not £10,000. There are complaints that they are not very effective at collecting the fines. They have a coastguard service, they have police, immigratin officers in place. they have the ability to never have to give access to benefits for these illegals, they already fine employers £10,000 for every illegal they employ and they do it as well.
They can easily force landlords to insist on a 'green card' style permit of residency before renting out property to them with a £10,000 fine if they don't conform.
The current landlord scheme (starting in December 2014 in the West Midlands) has the drawback that it applies to all adult residents in a tenancy. I still think this will cause problems for people bringing foreign spouses in to rented accommodation. A big problem is that the Home Office takes too long to process applications for change and recording of status. Even big companies have problems - how do you think buy-to-let landlords will cope?
That's nothing to do with the EU.The time has come to stand up..... no more being tied to the European Court of Human Rights meaning we have to hold onto 'so called' asylum seekers.
There are 47 countries signed up to the European Court of Human Rights.
These are not all individual signees, the EU has a block agreement with the court in Strasbourg. If you are in the EU, you are tied to the ECHR. Blair threatened to pull out and was told in short order that he couldn't.
The problem that gives us is that illegal immigrants know how to abuse the system. They make sure they have no documents with them at all. If they can't enter Britain legally, they enter illegally either on a tourist visa then post their passport etc back to their country and merely overstay indefinitely, or they make it to France and post their docs back home from there before climbing into the back of a truck or whatever.
Under this act, the British can only remove them from the UK if they have documents confirming their country of origin.... no documents, then they can't remove them. So instead must allow them temporary stay with weekly signing on at a police station until they are processed another way which takes a long time. They hardly ever turn up to sign on and just melt back into the system.
Buy to let Landlords?.....
They will just have to be very careful as to who they let their properties out to in the first place. A loophole i the system would be for a property to be let in the name of a legal immigrant with rights to stay in the UK.... Then the onus should be put onto whoever's name is on the tenancy agreement. That is my opinion.
Good to hear that they doubled the fines. The employers should be given a month to pay it or the bailiffs sent into both their business and the owner's home to collect. That is what a High Court Sheriff is for. If they simply up-sticks and move to another shop, the case should be handed to the police to pursue it as a criminal case...... Don't forget, a lot of these employers actually started as immigrants themselves and citizenship can be removed at any time.
There are 25,000 immigration officers in the UK and they also have teams that stop people in the street, I watched one show of UK border force, where they nabbed seven illegals in one shift..... Not a single one with papers, all had to be set free, none ever turned up at the local police station.
Get out of the EU, and we will be able to detain the lot of them until their home of origin can be established and they will be on the first plane out.

I am so glad to be reading this.... My coffee tastes that much better this morning.
So Misery Merkel is 'threatening' to stop supporting Britain's membership of the EU?..... Lol.... Farage must be thinking all his Christmases have come at once.
Cameron will have nothing to put on the table to get the people of the UK to vote 'in' ..... Something he was banking on. The bare minimum would have had to be more flexibility in the movement rules. That won't happen now and he is going to have to resort to pure scaremongering, and Clegg already tried that in a head to head debate with Farage back in March/April..... and failed miserably.
Way to go Merkel. Help us out of the EU by all means. Because the way things are looking, once the UK is out, France won't be too far behind because their people have also had enough and the right wingers are on the march there too. So it will be France probably next, and after that Germany will be left to shore up 25 under-performing economies.
You got to hand it to the Germans... They have managed to turn the once 'common market' into the 'German Empire' and all without firing a single shot. I wonder what Germany is going to look like in 10 years?....... Probably bankrupt.
Stupporn British thinking !!
Germanys economy would be better without EU !!
That any economist says, except britains- as of fact - if you say yes,
a Brit have only one chance , to say NO !
I dont know at all why in the british vocabulary you find the word : AGREE ???
I haven't got the slightest clue what you are talking about.
But one thing is for sure.
Brussels needs the UK a hell of a lot more than the UK needs Brussels.
We will leave that is 100% guaranteed, then Germany and France can have our 3 million EU immigrants, then France will follow, and then that will be the lot landing on German soil.
Then there will be an almighty uprising by the German people if Germany stay in.
Their empire will come at a very high cost. I just hope and pray that the Euro project is destroyed by the markets before that happens.

She only wants freedom of movement so the majority actually end up in the UK rather than Germany!
If they keep allowing poor countries into the EU then they will continue to have economic migration which is not really what it was intended for!
Even if/when the UK leaves the EU, the UK government would be unlikely to restrict immigration.
They are not able to define what would be an appropriate level and nature of immigration..
They don't have the financial resources that would be required to police the borders and coastline effectively, despite having the real advantage of being an island nation.
I absolutely disagree.
They have the financial resources to do this easily.
There are entire seasons of this TV show, that shows just how difficult it is to get into the country. The biggest failing is that they don't ship 'so called' asylum seekers back to the place they entered from. That will change though when we are out of the EU.... When.... not if.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvMnxrlmpl4
The time has come to stand up..... no more being tied to the European Court of Human Rights meaning we have to hold onto 'so called' asylum seekers.
Start handing out these £10K fines to a wider audience, make their life hell for assisting illegals to melt into the black economy.... they will get the hint eventually.

Last push to save Yingluck from legal action
in Thailand News
Posted
Nope, that concept is very real. Thing is, all the evidence is there to prove she is guilty of massive negligence. Or are you looking at a different case to everyone else.
So with all the evidence already on full public view, I think it is realistic that the public are going to perceive her as being 99.999999% banged to rights.
If anything, the lawyers' case is just so desperate, and obviously scraping around for loopholes and technicalities to creep through instead of making a case for her defence.... really shows even the lawyers know she can't be saved in any sane society. Even Thailand's.
