  1. Oh well answered my own question. First shock on the most accessible side easy peezy. Second one a little more difficult to get any purchase on and didn't seem to want to budge. Sprayed some WD40 on it and unbolted the muffler and swung it out the way a bit and then also easy. Didn't need a lot of muscle to move them. They were previously set to a couple of notches before full height. I moved them 2 notches now springs compressed / raised fully Can this do anything detrimental? Does it raise the center of gravity or anything or just compress the spring and make them firmer?
  2. Noticed today bike scraping a bit with Mrs on the back and rear shocks set to lowest (softest) setting. You tube video, easy fix spanner in the tool kit. Great, missing. They are just standard shocks that you twist around to seat a stud in the peaks and valleys to raise or lower. So I went to a few bike repair places and all had various excuses from don't have the tool, to they can't be adjusted to non standard shocks (which I highly doubt). I am sure a larger Honda dealer could sort it in 5 minutes but we are a little way away from them and just wondering would it be possible to do it with multigrips? I can get a decent grab on the area that needs adjusting, easily accessible. Just thought I would ask as I don't want to scratch the shocks up unecesarilly if a hopeless endeavor
  3. Not always, been scammed once here buying a thing off facebook (not cod). Box of old rusty bolts arrived
  4. Its nothing from Lazada or Shopee so no chance of returning the items nor is it Facebook. It has to be a scam. My wife googled it in Thai before and many reports of similar incidents.
  5. Oh I didn't know that! I wont be paying for it that's for sure. Bit pointless having COD if you have to pay before checking the goods
  6. Got a call from Kerry Express tonight, we were out. Guy said he had a delivery but couldn't leave it because 800 baht COD. I do get a lot of deliveries and sometimes lose track but just about 100% sure I didn't order anything COD....not off Lazada or Facebook. I know the Kerry driver so the delivery itself is legit. Even the tracking number and point of origin look weird. No name of sender or anything just a number. He is bringing it back tomorrow so be interesting to open it up, if they will allow it.
  7. I think you will find as it is a passport it will be covered in Federal law, and as severe or worse. It depends how desperate you are. I would do anything in my child's best interest
  8. That the best solution....next problem finding an honest lawyer who will do the custody case without wanting a ridiculous amount.
  9. Not a small point at all. I left that to the readers imagination. A fairly serious Federal offence. The question is would mum be likely or have the smarts or where with all to know it even happened / contest it down the track. I would say in 98% of cases probably not. Would your countries passport office check with the other country? I don't know
  10. I recently checked this myself and am in the same predicament. Mother required to appear for a Thai passport but only her signature required for an Australian passport. I enquired what were my options if mother awol and they replied. They sent me a link of special circumstances and I am guessing you would need some affadavit someone backing up your story? They also said it would take considerably longer to process
  11. No offence to anyone and I don't know the full story but have seen this scenario repeated over and over particularly in villages. And the debtor crying poor and didn't understand doesn't wash with me. They know how these loans work far better than any of us particularly at his age. All they seem to care about is getting their hands on the cash without thinking things through or the consequences. First question is why did he miss 4 payments and not contact the agent? or am I reading that wrong? These people often just never take responsibility for their own actions. What I have seen happen is the debtor misses a payment (which the loan shark is expecting). I have heard villagers across the road from me all laughing saying the person who loaned them the money was stupid....they hadn't paid and thought the loan agent had forgotten about it. Loan agent waits usually around 6 months of missed payments where the principal and compound interest is now out of reach. I saw this happen first hand row of small farms owned by people next door to each other. The loan agent was also a farm wholesale agent bought the local casava and sold onto the big factories. Like I said wait 6 months come in a take all the properties. I heard one of the owners complaining they had been scammed but they themselves thought they were scamming the loan agent lol, a very smart Chinese woman. In her defense she said that she wouldn't have minded if they had contacted her and made some arrangement. One man said the interest was so high he had no chance of repaying and she said never mind the interest you haven't paid not a baht of the principal! Asked him if he had any money left of the money he borrowed....no all gone. Not his fault he had to pay for his brothers funeral 200k! Was an absolute circus and while these people are uneducated and maybe in some ways easy pray I am sure at their age they knew full well what percentage interest they would have to pay and possibly had no intention of ever paying it back. I have no sympathy for people who have less than honest intentions themselves and are victims of their own greed.
  12. I am ok if I can use steel sometimes. Just targets etc plastic / glass ok. But thought steel would be good to have for dogs, home security etc
  13. We made the choice to put our kids in public school. Private was just going to be untenable for us long term. Is a good city school though and cost us quite a large "joiner fee" to get them enrolled there. Our 2 kids 6yo and we plan to go private in their high school years. I reckon this term I could count the amount of full weeks they have attended school on a few fingers. Between the constant public holidays and teachers meetings etc where they shut the school for the day or a couple of days. I reckon last 6 weeks they would have done 1 full week. A couple of supposed meetings, a meeting to discuss Scouts...school shut for 2 days hosting a regional Art thing or something. Then there were the plethora of public holidays before this. You would think after 2 or 2.5 years off with Covid they would be trying to catch up? Must be frustrating for people going to work who don't have family to take care of the kids. Tomorrow (Thursday) another day off / Teachers meeting and a message may as well not come on Friday, won't be doing much as last day of term lol. Then a month or so holidays. I am constantly drumming into my kids plan on a career teaching in the future. Must be the holy grail of jobs for Thai people. Does everyone experience the same thing or is it just our school? Seems to be no interest in increasing the standard of education here....or maybe that's the plan. Mushroom programming......
  14. Was reading a bit more on these air soft pistols and without exception seems to be not recommended at all to use steel BBs. Looks like a lot of the barrels on these things aluminum or allow and the steel BBs tear them up. Thats a bummer ????
  15. Delighted to report that Mex Chilli powder recipe excelled expectations. Much better than packet stuff. Also experimented using Asian Adzuki beans (little red beans they put in deserts supposed to be very good for Mex Chilli). They were also excellent. Very soft and creamy texture. Because they are small take a little less time to cook...recipe I found suggested 45 minutes but still not soft for me after this time so added 1/4 teaspoon carb soda same as you would do with mushy peas. Excellent result go really well in the chilli. 1 cup dry beans 4 cups water ends up making quite a bit so last a long time. Available in 500 gr packs at Makro. About 40 baht from memory. My Makro didn't have the normal red kidney beans but perhaps some do. In any case these will do me.
  16. I seem to remember them telling my missus...they told her "why need check money bank, visa (extension) already finish" lol. Which is sort of correct when you think about it. If they check your money after you have waited the under advisement period and go to pick up the visa and had a big issue with it they would have to cancel your visa. I doubt they would go to the trouble....and where does it say you need to have money in the bank right up until the under advisement / pick up date?....which is usually a month after your extension expires? I can understand if you need money in the bank right up until the day your extension expires....but past that I don't understand nor have I seen a requirement to that effect. of course it is always "up to them" (IO office) but does anyone have any insight on this?
  17. I usually do mine 30-45 days before they stay until date. Then under consideration / pick up date usually a month after stay until. I always make sure funds in the bank when I return to pick the visa up but never been asked to show my bank book on pick up in 7 years. I think my missus actually called them this year and they said no longer a requirement. Could only be my office of course. This year they called me 3 weeks before under advisement / pick up date and told me I could pick up whenever I like. I would put it this way. If you have the funds leave them in their until pick up...if not you should be ok. Best call ur IO ask them or let guys here know ur particular office and they may share their experience. I find the longer I have my visa the easier it is and the less they scruitinize me. All formality
  18. Bro salsa so easy to make...basically chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, garlic, lime...chilli or capsicum and however else you want to season it. All that stuff usually in my fridge. Usually 100 baht plus in a jar
  19. I like to cook and for me its like a wonderland at the markets. All the stuff that is sooooo expensive back home, farm fresh and cheap as chips. All the different mushrooms, herbs....Amazing trying different cabbages, Thai spinach and squashes how good they are and many times turn out even better than what we are used to back home. We eat like kings here!
  20. Thank you, we can buy Pak chee anywhere...20m from home. I love it always have it in the fridge and use it in my salsa. yes make my own tortillas...super soft, nice and easy as pie to make....Flour, water and oil basically. Pretty much can be used for Greek Pita bread
  21. Might of answered my own question...Found a recipe mostly all spices I have at home less Onion powder which I just ordered. Has 7000 5 star ratings so should be ok. In the process saw someone on Lazada selling Jalepeno seeds so ordered some of them too. Guessing they wouldn't be too hard to grow 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin 1 teaspoon sea salt 1 teaspoon ground black pepper ½ teaspoon ground paprika ¼ teaspoon garlic powder ¼ teaspoon onion powder ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  22. The packs of El Paso very expensive here. I see McCormicks do one around 50 baht but hit and miss with their stuff in the past. Often do Burritos or Tacos at home and looking for something economical to use. Maybe its not so hard to mix something up yourself?
  23. I have added Thai script to Kodi a few years ago, It was a bit of a trial too lol. First time I did it worked after about 2 hours mucking around.....the next time I got a new version I couldn't make it work
  24. I just downloaded Kodi before and reminded myself how complicated and clunky it is to use. I think really by the time I muck around easier to just do a google search on Subtitles.org and play on VLC. I do see some Thai subs come up as little squares. From memory there was something you used to have to do in settings to enable reading Thai script. Does VLC have a sub synch adjustment? From memory many used to be out of synch....sometimes a lot, sometimes a little even when the sub title seemed to match the movie file
  25. Most of them have the little C02 soda bottle cannisters. Mines a but like that. BBs go anywhere but straight. If it is a soda cannister (likely) the handle grip on one side will slide down or pivot off to the side. If its fillable from a gas can should have a valve under the grip stock where the mag goes in or on the mag
