Tony Blair Cautions Starmer Against Retaliation Over Trump Tariffs

I know. My point that it's not because 'American' products are not attractive, or because of bad will from foreign political leaders. The other point is that it still benefits the U.S. in one way or another. Even if American multinationals implement 'tax optimisation' policies, part of the profit still goes to the US, is partly taxed in the U.S. and also finances R&D and knowledge employment in the U.S. It therefore contributes to the dominance of the U.S. in several strategic technology sectors. -
Which party has been banned? None! And the first party to be convicted for exactly the same offense and according to the same law was a right of center party which has supported Macron from the first day. And the persons convicted have also received an inegibility sanction because it is mandated by the law. You don't know what you are talking about and just post your lame propaganda!

Tony Blair Cautions Starmer Against Retaliation Over Trump Tariffs

Actually, other countries are massively buying American brands, such as Apple, HP, Dell, etc... but they are all produced in China, SE Asia or India. The current trade imbalance is caused by decisions made by American firms. -

You are right about UK's low bargaining power. Then it depends on whether individual countries and economic entities (EU) act collectively or not. If they all decide to retaliate, Trump is toast because it's more than 70% of US exports. If they react individually, it's relatively more easy for Trump. That's why he hates the EU, because he cannot target each country individually. Then about Blair. He knowingly supported the neocon's lies about Irak. UK had probably the best intelligence service in Irak at that time. If the French intelligence service knew that Bush was lying, the UK certainly also knew it. And about immigration, if zi remember well, it was rather European immigration, I.e. the 'Polish plumber'. Actually, European immigrants have been replaced by "coloured" immigrants after Brexit. -
Inflation to other developped countries at the same time, actually s8 ilar to the global world inflation. Similar debt increase in other developed countries such as UK, except Germany. Let's see how the debt evolves under Trump...

The US enjoyed the best economic recovery among G7 countries under Biden. By far. The decision not to buy Russian oil any more ( well at least not directly, I know) was made by European countries, not by Biden. It was their own choice.

Repeating the same lie over and over won't make it true. It's not Z who cancelled the election. It's the Ukrainian constitution. But don't let truth get in the way of good Russian propaganda!

It confirms how dumb Trump is. The main reason Trump chose a tariffs policy is that it's quick to implement and highly visible. Unlike the complex longer-term policies successfully implemented by countries such as South Korea or China. (It's also probably the only policy he's able to understand and manage). The problem is that, in case it works (that's unlikely, as you explained), it can only have an impact on long-term, as it takes years to develop an industry. So basically the negative effect is on short-term as an economic crisis, and the alleged positive effect can only be felt on a longer term which exceeds the time horizon of the midterms and the 2028 election. The perfect recipee for a next electoral defeat!

You mean Republicans trying again to rigg a fair election by disenfranchising people who voted legally? "Riggs has appealed the decision, which, if it stands, places a heavy burden on North Carolinians who were only trying to exercise their right to vote and did not break any rules. Griffin’s challenge alleges that their voter registrations are not valid because they do not include their driver’s license number or last four digits of their Social Security numbers — neither of which are required under state law to vote in North Carolina." https://eu.fayobserver.com/story/opinion/2025/04/04/nc-appeals-court-decision-gives-60000-voters-an-urgent-task-opinion/82884089007/
