Who are Talugas? The group’s name is apparently inspired by “Thalu Fah” (Through the Sky), which is the main organizer of the latest wave of protests. While the “sky” here refers to the elitist establishment, “gas” in Talugas is thought to derive from the use of tear gas by crowd-control police. Talugas consists mainly of vocational students and working-class teenagers angered by the government’s management of COVID-19 and its economic fallout, according to reporters covering the clashes in Din Daeng. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/is-talugas-part-of-two-pronged-strategy-by-anti-government-protesters/

Chinese Embassy Bangkok: Sinovac it is NOT a low quality vaccine

Likely the same people who have not been "suckered into getting vaccinated"! ???? -
Thailand reports 15,452 new COVID-19 cases, 18,257 recoveries

Now that community CPR tests are apparently declining, it looks like they are releasing prison case numbers they were holding back..... -
Chinese Embassy Bangkok: Sinovac it is NOT a low quality vaccine

On top of it, It's not cheap ($9/dose, if I remember well). That's about half the price of Pfizer jabs, but around twice the price of AZ jabs. China obviously made a lot of money with it. -

Thousands join protest in Bangkok demanding prime minister's resignation
candide replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ahem! Haven't you noticed that the political faction which brought "peace", is the same political faction which created chaos in 2013/2014 (and blocked any possibility to have a general election showing what a democratic majority wished for a nation)? ???? Additionally, didn't you notice that the last elections have been rigged????? Really????? -
We agree that they are both crooks (they probably all are). Where we diverge is that I think a democratic process is better than a non-democratic process. I think It's better that citizen choose the crook they want (and vote him out when they want), rather than a minority at the top of the old elite choosing the crook they like, against the will of citizen.

Some PPP MPs are former Thaksin allies who joined PPP in exchange of favours of some kind, so it wouldn't be surprising they kept contact with him. Anyway, if true (why would the PPP and it's masters need Thaksin as it can rely on the 250 unelected senators to elect whoever they want?), the core cause should not be forgotten. All this would be unnecessary if the government could be democratically elected under a fair constitution.

Defense team, police wants Joe Ferrari tried for manslaughter not murder
candide replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Exactly! He knows too much! The two likely outcomes are either free or dead. -
I remember the Junta's last attempt at reforming the police, as it was considered as being too red. The RTP responded by arresting an army General for human trafficking and publicising the case. Then any idea of reforming the police was quickly forgotten! ????

Lawyer who leaked Joe Ferrari tape sued for defamation
candide replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Exactly! And it looks like quite an acceptable case of defamation. How did he know that the other lawyer did not release the video because he "intended" to blackmail the cop? Can he prove it? Additionally, is it plausible? Blackmail a top cop who can easily get you killed? Really? On top of it, after watching a striking example of the cop's talent in the video? -

I remember times when the NACC was very fast. When was it? 2014, I think. -
Thailand wants answers over berry pickers’ Covid-19 outbreaks in Finland
candide replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's a bit strange that Finland needs to get workers from as far as Thailand, while there is a large supply of agricultural workers from Eastern Europe. -

Nice post, except that It's not what I meant, as I explained briefly in my post. -
Thaksin chides Move Forward Party in Clubhouse talks
candide replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
To start with, Thais did not have the power to change their government as they have been prevented from voting in 2014. They could have chosen to change (or not) the government, and vote for whoever they wanted. As for the rest of your post, I already answered. -

My mistake! I thought you initially believed the Junta would suppress corruption, and would not be even more corrupt than the previous elected corrupt bunch.
