Rubio: Trump is serious about buying Greenland
candide replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Complete B.S. 😆 The Chinese have failed in the Arctic. In Greenland they have been blocked since 2018. The EU in 2019, Denmark in 2021, and soon Greenland, have implemented investment screening laws to protect infrastructures, energy and critical resources, in particular from China and Russia. https://investmentpolicy.unctad.org/investment-laws/laws/435/denmark-investment-screening-act The U.S. and the EU have also created a mineral security partnership aiming at securing access to critical minerals and Greenland has been one of the first members. https://minexforum.com/2024/10/01/eu-and-us-welcome-new-members-to-the-minerals-security-partnership-msp/ -

Trump keen to blame diversity and inclusion for Washington DC crash

Air traffic control is a “meritocracy,” says former FAA air traffic manager The air traffic control profession is a “meritocracy,” according to Michael McCormick, a former FAA air traffic manager and associate professor in air traffic management at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. “Only the best can go through the rigorous selection program, the screening program and then one-to-five-year training program prior to receiving their certification,” McCormick told CNN Friday morning. McCormick’s comments come after President Donald Trump blamed DEI policies for the collision. McCormick, who shut down New York City air traffic on 9/11, also said it was common practice for one air traffic controller to work two different tower positions. “In this instance, it was actually a good thing, because now you have one controller who’s actually talking to and controlling both of the aircraft,” he said. “Otherwise, if it was a separate controller, then the two controllers would have to constantly coordinate back and forth about what is happening and what they’re choosing to do.” Some context: At the time of the collision, one air traffic controller was working two different tower positions and handling both local and helicopter traffic, an air traffic control source told CNN. The New York Times reported that an internal preliminary Federal Aviation Administration report says staffing was “not normal for the time of day and volume of traffic.” Live updates: DC plane crash investigation continues as families mourn tragedy | CNN https://edition.cnn.com/webview/us/live-news/plane-crash-washington-dc-trump-01-31-25?adobe_mc=TS%3D1738350136|MCMID%3D72930993794519071334713548976840673148|MCORGID%3D7FF852E2556756057F000101%40AdobeOrg&iid=cnn-mobile-app&iid=cnn-mobile-app -

I had a look at your posting history. It seems that you are more anti-left than pro-Trump from your posting behaviour. -

You forgot the link. Ashamed of citing the lefty Daily Beast? https://www.thedailybeast.com/cnn-personality-apologizes-after-blaming-trump-for-dc-disaster/ So how does this single guy represent "the left"? -
Tne issue is not so much that he promised to bring prices down without being specific about how he would do it. As you mention, that's what other politicians may also do. The ridiculous aspect of his promise is "immediately". 😆 Trump is often erratic and comes up with spontaneous inadequate statements This is not the case. "Immediately" was a campaign slogan repeated at several occasions, I.e. RNC, debate with Kamala etc...

ChatGPT agrees that more COVID vaccination --> more cases

Complete nonsense. Correlation is not causation. By the same false logic one could conclude that aspirin or paracetamol increase the number of cases of fever causing diseases. -

That can't be true! According to our MAGA posters, Greenlanders have been so impressed by Trump that they have widely adopted the MAGA cap, and are eagerly waiting to become American! 😆

For a good reason! “The EU and the UK are both very vulnerable to prevailing global events and a reset of relations is the single most effective way to make both sides stronger,”

The other issue is that oil companies are not keen to invest in new drilling, in particular with the current price decrease trend. They are not going to shoot themselves in the foot by investing to reduce prices and their profits. I guess that, as prices have started to decrease last year and will probably decrease in 2025. Trump will try to take credit for it and attribute it to the drill baby drill B.S., even in the absence of significant new drilling.
