What about ice ??... ok ok, not in Thailand.... Oil all over the road then. There are situations whereby we can easily lose control of a vehicle due to and unexpected surface. I recall driving over in Chantaburi / Sa Keaw area... the road had recently been resurface, not with asphalt, but concrete.... but astonishingly, some genius has made the road extremely smooth, not the usual rough concrete. ... It was raining and I hit that stretch of road at a fair speed... Then saw the signs (in Thai - slippery surface) - it was slick, but fortunately very little traffic - I was scared to touch the brakes and just slowed down gently, I could feel how slippery the surface is. In this case - due to the road works, I suspect the road surface may have had gravel and debris all over it... which first caused the rider to come off... then caused the car to lose control and skid.

Motorcyclist lost control after hitting road works. Driver, approaching quickly, also lost control at the same point and rolled into the motorcyclist. It would seem car hit the same road works causing the loss of control... perhaps unmarked road works, which is not uncommon here at all... mess from the road works, gravel on the road etc leading to skidding...

Easy - if the driver was driving using "crossed arms" to turn the wheel. I have seen this many times in Northern Thailand. Can lose control. Crossed arms causing loss of control ???... I'm often surprised at some of the stretches of the imagination used on here to explain various behaviours - and this one is right up there !!!

When not at a beach, I see more Thai folk without shirts on... usually its the very poor older Thai's guys, so everyone gives them a pass... On a 'beach-Island' such as Koh Pangnan or somewhere like Koh Samet, I don't think its poor form or 'disrespectful of Thai culture' at all to be shirtless... but, of course, going into a Bank in those area's is of course impolite. Also, going shirtless in many cities and towns is of course polite. BUT... it seems with this example, a few people are trying to shoe-horn in their faux-outrage so they can feel offended on behalf of the Thai's... Its a bit pathetic !!!

You're more than welcome to if you have any comment to make (as you have here). I'll pass comment on subjects or other comments as I see fit... and your comments were, IMO, wrong and nasty. Sure... but your comment was simply astonishing... blaming the victim here - I don't know how its possible to even think like that - it seems you suggest the Moto-rider was in the right to beat up a woman. For someone who works as a rig safety guy and is respected by a whole crew, its astonishing that you present such a logic disconnect... the response is so surprising, its difficult to understand why someone would think like you have. Neither have I - but, I also avoid them... I know people who've had issues with these guys, plenty of them are unstable, just like taxi drivers - and I know decent guys who've been attacked by both taxi and moto-riders. The simple way to deal with these guys is to never show even the slightest negative reaction to anything they do - and why do we have to behave like that ???/..... its because we know they can go from zero to incendiary in the blinking of an eye, especially when they are fuelled up. I agree with you that the Russian woman 'might' have been out of order.... her tone or words could have been strong enough to generate anger... but does that justify a beating ???? ... so, I'd ask you based on your earlier response - is there anything that justifies a man beating up a woman ? or in this case, the moto-taxi stopping and beating up the woman ? What if this were a Thai woman or a woman from another nationality? would you opinion remain the same ?

Anything could get hacked - your e-mail server, your one drive, dropbox etc... nothing is perfectly safe online - there are just different degrees of difficulty for strangers to gain access. DropBox - works on whatever ecosystem you are using.

How much do you pay for health insurance?

Most of them and I am not going to take the risk of taking a policy out then find out later I can’t claim. I had been using AXA for Travel Insurance for years, i told them I was on status, they would no longer insure me. (quote level fixed). You are mixing your melons man... Health Insurance vs Travel Insurance - they are different beasts. Additionally, its seems based on one experience with travel insurance you have drawn a conclusion on all types of health cover. I think there are many folk on statins, I suspect a fair number of posters on this forum might be on statins without their 'Health Insurance' being impacted, or perhaps with a specific exclusion or additional surcharge. -
How much do you pay for health insurance?

Indeed... and from an insurance perspective, the suggestion that 'most accidents happen due to stupidity' is a pathetic fundamentally flawed sweeping generalisation.. ... Injuries occur from playing sports - thats not stupidity. ... Sickness occurs - regardless of how healthy you are - thats not stupidity. ... Equipment fails - thats not stupidity. In fact, the only stupidity than can be mentioned is the very comment made by that poster. -

I have already asked that question of the poster on another thread and got no answer, you will probably be the same. He's just trying to pull peoples chain... Its clear you have no interest in posting any useful detail and are instead 'drip feeding' information as some sort of childish play. -
Marriage certificate lost

Really ?? I only recall ever getting one. This thread has more details.. It seems you might be able to get 'stamped copies' from the Amphur office at which you registered your marriage. -
I think they really don't care... Just a few weeks ago, I was with my Son, late at night (about 10pm) after watching the football. We'd taken the BTS out of the high-traffic area to avoid taxi-congestion... but it was proving difficult to get a Grab or a Bolt... We walked 10mins up the road, out of the way... and tried again. - we had on driver - about 50m up the road on the opposite side accept the ride. - we waited, waited, waited... no movement, the roads were clear. - I cancelled the booking and tried again. - the same driver accepted the ride, we waited, waited, waited - I could see the car parked up (and MG ZS), no movement, and I didn't want to cross the road with my Son as it was fairly clear and the traffic was moving quickly. I ended up using a different app, and waiting another 15 mins for a vehicle to arrive from a few KMs away. Its a real shame that a 'taxi driver mindset' seems to have slipped into many of those driving for these apps.

I never have any issues with ride hailing apps in other countries that have them... (of the countries I visit). ... except for Thailand and Turkey... whereby for whatever reasons a certain characteristic often surfaces... one where they expect the customer to make it more convenient for them, there is an outright scam running, or the services is often tarnished by a sense of entitlement in the individual service provider. I've lost count of the amount of times I've ordered a Grab or Bolt here... and the driver accepts the ride only to not move at all for an extended period of time... until it becomes obvious to me that they are not infact 'wanting to take the ride' but are forced to take x amount of riders per hour or face some sort of penalty such as loosing their 'service points' etc... So, they wait us out, and for 'us' to cancel as if they cancel too often, they lose a degree of their rating. ... It turns the whole system into a farce...

If the BiB cared for 'safety' they'd be stopping all the motorcyclists riding without a helmet. The reason this guy drew attention is two fold: a) He's a foreigner (non-Thai). b) He's riding something 'different'. I also agree - these things appear far more dangerous than a regular scooter, however, I don't think this is the reason he was 'warned'..

Really ??? every health insurance company you have applied for has rejected your application solely because you are taking statins ??? -
100%... I refuse to use these moto-taxis unless completely essential.... Trusting my wellbeing to those without eduction who hardly appear to value their own wellbeing seems like madness to me... I'd rather ride myself (when not drinking) otherwise its taxi's all the way. Its been over 5 years since I last rode pillion on a motorcycle - and then, I also asked the moto-taxi to pull over, then asked him to ride more carefully - no issues whatsoever. I'm not sure how calmly or politely this lady asked the rider to be more careful, but it doesn't matter. No matter how she asked him a violent response is not deserved... In fact, given the nature of the response and the rider going from zero to incendiary over something so innocuous, I'd suggest the lady didn't put a foot wrong, she simply had a very very unstable driver.

I recommend reading about the difference between imap and pop3. Thank you for your attention. Unless the Op has a 'service provider account'... Its most likely he has an e-mail account accessible from any device, such as g-mail, hotmail, yahoo etc... I think this is most common, particularly for people who have moved around.
