Our staff have covid. What should we do?
richard_smith237 replied to jack71's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
There has been a lot of discussion regarding the classification of Covid-19 to endemic status. That is only a matter of time - the comment is not so flawed (BE88 just got his epi & en mixed up, thats all).... -

Selling a House Privately
richard_smith237 replied to 33 RPM's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Facebook Market place.... Be warned though... you will be contacted by loads of agents asking you questions pretending to be buyers... the question to ask them, in this order: 1) Is it you buying the house ? - They will tell you they have a buyer lined up. 2) Who is the buyer, what nationality. - The can’t answer and say they will have someone soon. You will also be asked by the vast majority of people who contact you if you are an agent or not. ... Thus, in your Facebook market place Add - state that you are the Owner Selling he Property. Also, if you don’t want to be bothered by agents state ’no agents’ (they’ll still bother you though !). Agents will try and contact you for sole rights - just say no. Agents will also copy your Add and re-post it in other areas as their own. Ultimately, the agents seem to do as little work as possible, just repost adds and attempt to make more money than they ever deserve. That said: for rental - agents ‘can’ be very helpful if you get with good and reliable ones. -
Marijuana smoking - allowed in someone's condo room?
richard_smith237 replied to bbi1's topic in Pattaya
There was a call for smoking to be banned inside condo’s a few years ago. I think smoking on balconies is already banned. I’m not sure if there was a law passed to ban smoking inside yet. There may be ‘juristic regulations’ preventing smoking inside. But, If there aren’t and a law hasn’t been passed, I’m not sure what you can do other than move out. Of course, moving out is easy for everyone else to suggest, but not something you want to do if you like the place and don’t want to lose your deposit. Hopefully the Juristic office are helpful - suggest you’ll get the law involved as you think he’s a drug dealer !!! (over egg it - that may do something !). -
Exactly this.... This guy is potentially dangerous... next time it could be something more serious involving injuries and deaths to lots of innocents. The warning signs are not just there, they have been repeated on 3 separate occasions. The public need to be protected from such an unhinged character - he needs to kept away from people, the only way to do this is to lock him up.

Changing last name in Thailand as a Thai
richard_smith237 replied to FarAway's topic in Marriage and Divorce
My Wife changed her Surname to mine after we were married... As I understand it the initial ‘change’ was carried out simply enough... however, there was a fair bit of leg work to also change all the other documents etc... Driving Licence, House Book, Credit Cards, Air-line Frequent flyer memberships, Bank Accounts, phone contracts etc.... quite a lot... (and quite a lot that I’ve forgotten to mention). -
Changing last name in Thailand as a Thai

Here you go with your ‘farang bash’ and ‘Thai Defence’ when no one on this thread has said anything against any Thai at all yet.... !!!!.... -
Of course not because it’s in impossible task. 100’s of illegals guns from that one station will be in anonymous hands in all corners of Thailand. Face saving = getting their hands on as many guns as possible from anyone & anywhere for the ‘photo opportunity’….. then a few sacrificial officers sent to inactive positions… all sorted…. No illegal guns in Thailand anymore !!!!!!!!! Aren’t the big honest & great !!!

Agree , it’s a PITA… But they are correct. According to the regulations we can only get a 5 year full licence if on a resident visa (that means a Non-Imm visa or extension of stay). The issue is that different offices & different officers interpret what they read differently. I got 5 years Thai DL on an S.E. Visa (Thai Elite) - theoretically it’s not classified as a resident visa and I should have only been issued 2 years ( as was the case previously )… it seems they made a minor mistake which worked in my favour.

For a male.. perfectly safe if you’re not a tool. Using grab makes it as near as perfectly safe as can be. Its slightly different for a lone female - my Wife would never take a taxi alone at night (her excuse for drink driving before we met - many females think the same way about taxis at night). Grab has somewhat changed the landscape.

25 years here & have close friends in immigration…. Yet again your assumptions are wholly incorrect. Immigration cannot deport & blacklist someone because they ‘feel like it’….. a person would have to be found guilty of a crime before that could happen. I guess in this case the Frenchman who fought will likely be held until his visa exempt entry expires & he’ll be deported. Nothing serious will happen to the driver, his crimes; if they could even be called that, were extremely minor… he’ll just receive a minor fine for the red plate issue which will be nothing more than a face saving exercise for the BiB. There will very likely be some financial compensation involved.

Proof ??? Anything other than your assumption ? Don’t you think they’d have cctv of this already ?? Further assumptions… Now you are accusing the French of taking drugs? Or had just been in a fight so decided to get out of there…. Anyone would do the same. Here I am !!!…,. But yours are not conclusions, they are the baseless and bias assumptions of a flawed mind. Another assumption/ no proof of DUI. Oh… cos they’ll both be in prison for 8 years, right ??? Finally, something you write which makes sense… I totally agree.

Miss Grand Thailand struts her stuff as "Hanuman the Boxer"

I checked into the thread too early… … just came for the ‘not my cup of tea, give me real farm girl any day of the week’ comments…. -
You don’t think someone who punches & kicks is a willing participant in a fight ? someone who attempts to kick someone else while they are on the floor if not a willing participant, then what ???? The Thai wife of course painted the husband as an innocent victim, any wife would do the same…. No blame of criticism there…. …. but just criticism of the stupid people who take her story as truth & fact. One of the videos shows the Frenchman on the floor, the Thai guy trying to kick him… that part is clipped off in other videos.
