Whether or not one supports Trump, he was right when he described Washington as a swamp, IMO. They need a voter tsunami to wash away the entire city and start again with all independents, IMO. You talk about the 'truth' and 'this charade' without focusing on the fact that Trump tried to strong arm a foreign power to investigate a political opponent...and then tried to cover it up. The impeachment committe issued 71 subpoenas and requests for information regarding the accusation. In response the Trump administration produced nothing...not a single piece of paper and stopped key witnesses from appearing at the hearings. A recently revealed email from Michael Duffy (sent roughly 90 minutes after the teleohone call) clearly shows this cover up with the words 'Based on guidance I have received and in light of the Administrations plan to review assistance to Ukraine...please hold off on any additional DoD obligations of these funds". he then goes on to say "Given the sensitive nature of the request, I appreciate you keeping that informnation closely held'.

The only 'charade' being seen is an administration openly defying congress with obstruction after obstruction and a GOP dominated Senate openly saying they will not do the job they have been hired to do and will aquit Trump NO MATTER WHAT THE EVIDENCE SAYS.

This should all be indefensible so I find it incredible that so many on this forum obfuscate so much with 'The voters know exactly who and what he is' as if this gives him carte blanche to trample all over the constitution and commit soooooooo many morally, ethically and illegally dubious acts.

A line needs to be drawn before that line becomes so faint it becomes invisible.

When he denigrated his own intelligence services in favour of world dictators, you defended him.

When he defrauded his own charity (I still can't believe he is in office after that) you defended him.  

He insults a veteran lawmaker after his death and still you defend him.

It's absolutely true when Trump says he could “stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and ... wouldn’t lose voters.” Especially when they are so into his cult as you obviously are.

Your POTUS (as he isn't that for a lot of people) has undermined the constitutional strength of the US from the day he was elected and with this debacle, is trying to say the office of POTUS is bigger and more important than the checks and balances put in place by the Founding Fathers.

Whether you believe or don't believe Trump is guilty of 'high crimes and misdemeanors' there is a more important battle going on that will shape the US for decades to come. Does one man have the power and the ability to ignore congress and defy the Constitution that so many Americans hold sacred?

And let's be under no illusions, this is EXACTLY what Trump is doing. 

So cry 'pure theatre' or 'nothing to see here' but your willful ignorance of these very important points really negates all of your arguments and paints you as more anti-American than any Trump detractor can ever be as at least they have Americas interests at the very heart of their debate.

Now if only they could be compelled to appear and clear everything up then I think it would all become much, much clearer.  Im not sure how to do that though. Maybe some sort of congressional request. You know, something that shouldn’t be ignored. Maybe like a subpoena. 

Any reason why these people are refusing to obey a congressional subpoena Trump fans other than they know they will have to commit perjury to defend Trump?

For good reasons it takes 2/3 vote in the Senate to remove a President from office. Why is that? So to prevent the Impeachment process from simply being a partisan tool for removing a President from Office without justification.

And then there's Gordon Sondland.

This is going to be the the Dems star witness. A Trump appointee and a man who was actually on the calls and is deep, deep in the middle of it all. Now we already know that Sondland has changed his tune in a new, revised statement were he has testified “I said that resumption of the U.S. aid would likely not occur until Ukraine provided the public anticorruption statement that we had been discussing for many weeks,” but since he has also categorily denied there was any 'quid pro quo/bribery' in previous statements it will be super interesting to see which story he will stick to this week, especially now there is a clear threat of perjury. Many think he has no choice other than to come completely clean and honestly tell the world what was actually said in those calls.

So berate Yovanovitch all you want for feeling threatened about Trumps tweets (like that's the important part of all of this) or for Bill Talyor only having 'hearsay' evidence because, you know, he wasn't actually on the call but I wonder how you are going to defend Trump when Sondland confirms all the other witness testimonies are true and accurate?

No one is saying it isn't a problem but when you have Trump offering Ivanka a role that she has no experience in and is massively ill-equipped to handle and getting Jared to 'sort out the Middle East' alongside many other roles, then the word hypocrisy immediately springs to mind. 

ALL children should be banned from using their political parents influence to land plumb jobs but until it becomes illegal for everyone, then you can't just single out Hunter Biden.
