  1. Get paid for Feb...then tell them you need to leave, and don't expect to be paid for March...chances are you will be doing them a big favor...based on common accounting methods used, it would be a great chance for an administrator to pocket your last check, that you aren't worried about. Sounds like a win-win situation to me. And just make sure they aren't going to stiff you on vis extension/WP. Maybe even state that you might be willing to come back in the future (even if it would be on the coldest day in Hell), but now you have some pressing personal issues, Of course, that would be believable, because they know the farang always has personal problems with drinking or his prostitute wife.

  2. So does this mean you have stopped pretending to be HiSo by flying Bangkok Airways, like you were in 2014? Were the pumpkin chips stale, too? Except for connecting to an international flight, DMK is much more accessible. I like Nok, and it's been smooth sailing, and you get some free baggage. I guess you can look at the ratings like Trip Advisor....getting good ratings is a business within itself, as well as getting rid of bad ones. Tony Fernandez seems to be a little media darling, and I don't think we are getting the straight scoop on them. The airport escalators, jetways, and buses are more dangerous than the jets. Weekend/Holiday warriors are often the ones paying the price, as that's when the systems get strained. Same with Summer travel in the US. It took me 56 hours to get from CNX to IAD before.

  3. Wow. I guess I can't post the link. Living on a lower floor looks smarter all the time. RIP. RIP to Soi Cowboy...it was good longer than NEP....I don't avoid "those kinds of places;" but I avoid places that offer little value, calculate their profits beforehand, and live off distant past successes. Las Vegas comes to mind.

  4. I would certainly say buy the plastic toilet flange, no grout / cement needed

The 4in flange fits into the 4in soil pipe, so no leaks ...you then mount the toilet onto of the flange and the toilet locks in position

Cheap, I think I paid about Baht 500 ish

it's all good until you discover that the flange is too close to the wall.

  5. Considering you can pay your electric bill at Airport Plaza, and take care of a lot of things...including business at the banks that pay much higher interest than the banks at Prom............and Baan and Beyond is pretty good.....and 10 thb gets you to and from the old city on Yellow...I will give them the prize, and if you're really having a bad day, you can walk for fifteen minutes to the CNX terminal, and leave town. KSK lives on, and is even easier to get to for many, and has one of the best BKK Bank branches in the Province, a good evening market out front, with tons of stuff to do in the surrounding area; beer promos, computer parts, massage, Santitham, RAM Hospital, or Heaven forbid, Maya are all a stones throw away. Sorry to report a hair in my noodle soup, in the basement....perhaps I should have tried some dog vomit at the Iraqi restaurant.....but AIS gave me a new phone.

  6. I had bought the proper flanges at American Standard out HD Road, almost to HD City...but that was 9 years ago, and I don't think they are open, anymore. A few of the other AS Stores were completely useless. Some of the higher end toilets will come with their own flange, but they are also screwed into the floor in various ways. At 180 for a tube of good silicon sealant, you will get your money back pretty quickly on the flange...but some of the tilers have never seen one....and another major problem is the hole being too close to the wall.

  7. "Prem want more than a BEd and they pay 100K plus"

Not if hired in country. The pay around 60-80k. I knew of a PhD there on less than 100k

"The last thing any school wants is to lose experienced, reliable and long-term teachers. To the schools, good teachers are not expendable."

Prem has an extremely high turnover rate for teachers.

Lanna is small so you cannot compare. They used to start off at 40-50k. Not sure if they are much higher now.

The point is though, it is better to work abroad at international schools. For the same qualifications you can double your salary in China, triple it in the middle east.

Correct again, Z. There was even a thread on Prem in the CM Forum a month or so ago. It was funny that the defenders of the school were saying how it is perfectly normal for the International school teachers to only stay one or two years. It was hinted that there has been a bit of a house cleaning going on....can you imagine a school requiring more hours and less pay? In Thailand? cheesy.gif Very few are making 100K in Thailand...and that would include the sleeziest of the TEFL Class recruiters. Heck, they got farang willing to work in boiler rooms for 30K, and that might get you a free ticket back to the US or UK to face charges.

  8. It would be most helpful to use someone, who knows what a toilet flange is, as opposed to three containers of caulk. Tile should be done under the toilet, not around it. And don't try to use a vanity cabinet on a floor that is sloped for drainage...which is most of them. Also, they seem to be using plastic strips on corners instead of 45 degree cuts on the tile....functional; but sloppy.

  9. I just returned front the Maya Branch. Suprisingly, I was able to get a new phone for a 100 THB, and got that much air-time. If you want English service, you will get an "H" queue number...and I thought I was at RAM Hospital for a moment, with a number that was nowhere to be found on the screen, but the one English speaking rep, was helping a Thai customer...10 minute wait..not bad...I just thought I might have to wait an hour or two for someone to get back from lunch and start calling "H" numbers. I also reminded them for the third time that they were to communicate with me in English...he checked, and it was set to English...then he tried switching it back and forth and he got an error message...don't think that situation is resolved. I also used my Yellow Book Number for Thai National ID Number, and we'll see if I can get anywhere with online account management.

No definite date, when the old phone would have stopped working. I asked them if there were a million customers in the same boat, and he nodded. Turn in your old phone, he or you can move contacts to SIM card, no new SIM card was needed....You don't need to turn in your old charger....

  10. The Worst foreigner in thailand are The UK - Australian and American ..... .i agreed with the thai about that fact.

Have the Thais taken a poll on this matter? As far as I can tell, they hate the Arabs and Indians most (forgot the Chinese) Haven't heard any other groups mentioned. Please educate us on what ALL the Thais think.

Usually, the signs will say No Indian/No African...maybe they just assume all Arabs are from Africa.
