  1. This years Premiership is sending me nuts. How I'd love to be a fly on the Ref's Assossiation wall, when they decide who's going to win which match, most of all, who they going to let win the Premiership. I know it's all done and dusted, but are they going to give the title to Liverpool this year, or are they sticking to their favourite team? Of course Lampard's red card has been recinded. They only wanted to keep him out of that match. Same when the Ref booked Lamps after two minutes in the United match for nothing but a strong tackle, That kept him quiet.

    Suspense, let there be none.

As for Lamp's red card, even your greatest rivals said from the moment it happened that it shouldn't have been.

So just to be clear, are you chuffed because Chelsea is not making the grade this year or mad that its been a few years since you were the ref's darlings?

  2. As to the lady in question changing her property into other peoples names, this Judgement stays in force for another 10 years and even if I do not get 1 Satong back, she will know that I am there in the background looking into whatever property she does own and ready to snatch it from her and that alone gives me a certain amount of pleasure. I can drive past her house or park up for short periods of time and linger outside her door looking at the car in her drive on the pretext of checking out her assets and she will know I am there :D

As long as I do not make a nuisance of myself or cause any disturbance or damage, I can be there looking and have her thinking.

No offence, mate. Do you know anything about this country? If you try to snatch anything with or without a court order, there is a good chance you'll end up dead.

If on the slim chance you do succeed in getting your 100,000 Baht, you had better not hang around Thailand too long and if you do, don't follow a predictable routine. Do you know any high level army or police that can offer you protection? Do you plan to spend a good chunk of your future here? Is 100,000 Baht or antagonising somebody worth it?

    Fears? None serious.

Protection? No real problem in that respect either, if I need to have some help.

As for the 100k, yes it is worth them getting some grief. Not so much for the money but the way the whole thing was handled. And I won't go into details over that.

I have learnt a lot about the situation and have a very shrewd idea of what I am getting into.

I am still happy and now off to the pub for some :o & :D

regarding your point that I bolded above, the key to this is getting it before you need it. :D

  3. Rooney's set to be let off leash

    February 03, 2009

WAYNE Rooney could boost United's attacking options on Sunday against West Ham as the latest wave of injured stars return.

The England striker has missed the Reds' last five matches after suffering a career first hamstring injury against Wigan three weeks ago.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been at pains not to rush the 23-year-old but if he can get enough minutes on the training ground this week he will be up for selection at Upton Park.

The visit to the Hammers could also see United's Moscow five defensive line up start a game for the first time since October.

The Champions League final rearguard hasn't played together since the Goodison game at Everton after which Wes Brown was KO'd by ankle surgery.

But Patrice Evra is also set to be fit again for the trip to East London at the weekend following his own ankle problem suffered against Chelsea a month ago.

The French left back has been absent for the last six matches.

While the defence has still managed to rack up a record-breaking clean sheet record during the injury mayhem, with Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League fare on the schedule this month Fergie will be happy the treatment room blockage is beginning to ease.

Winger Nani is also ready to be available again following his groin injury against Derby County in the Carling Cup semi final second leg.

I am guessing that Rooney and Evra will be on the bench and only play if needed at or around the 60 min mark.

  4. There was a thread about cake?

    :o

Well, our lovely Ms Apple seems to think there is big enough difference between having your cake and eating a muff-in as well. Personally, both together make for a sweet treat.

Back on Topic, Starbucks / Au Bon Pan muffins are ok, but I am much more of pie eater myself.

  5. As I often say 99% of what's on the internet forums is B.S. I'd like to see the 99% removed so we can have some intelligent discussion!

No that's not it, what I wish for is to possess my own weight in gold bullion. That would do!

We are waiting for you to begin the intelligent conversation. Kidding, second wish, that TV would make it much more easier for newbies to find stuff without having to start a new topic everytime someone wants to know something about marriage in Thailand etc etc. And 3rdly, revamp the classifieds section so you don't have to open two windows to find out a guy is selling a house in surat thani when you are looking for one in Bangkok.

    4thly, i will stop now.

  6. According to the Nation Friday 30 Jan 2009:

"An electric train linking Suvarnabhumi Airport and central Bangkok's Makkasan area ...officially begins on August 12th. Each train will have 160 seats, with one carriage dedicated for passengers' luggage."

How safe is this? Will the luggage have been checked in? Will I lose sight of my luggage en route?

Remembering the story of the coach passengers whose luggage was tampered with when accessed by the bus crew, I am not comfortable with this arrangement.

Why not carriages with luggage racks throughout so you can keep an eye on things?

If you are not comfortable with it then I guess you have two choices mate. A small carry-on bag or find alternative transport. :o

But seriously, from what I have seen at the Makassan station- it's pretty huge so it wouldn't surprise me if they have a set-up similar to HK. Of course, if this happens 90% of the facility will be dedicated to Thai Airways.

  7. If I had one wish, I wish I could walk on the moon!...yup, a life long dream unfortunately will never be a reality.

So, just for the sake of fun, tell me what you would wish for if you had just one wish...

    Cheers!

I will attempt help you keep this Thailand related by adding my one wish....

Remove all cars from Bangkok for one day a week.

  8. alright so wasnt the best result over the weekend

but no reason why we should stay on second page :D

and now the Russian goal scorer has joined us.

Those that accuse Arsenal of being a French team can now stop whinging :o:D

    Arshavin Fact files

    source: arsenal.com :D

we never said you were a French team, just not an English one...but I reckon you could give Lyon a go for the title every year in that league. Arsenal, Champions de France! (bonus, champions league guaranteed spot every year too!)

  9. I had no idea that the government or the distric paid the judge...and also the farang. :D

I might need to call that judge in a case of any emergency, whats his name again? :D

Technically, he didn't pay the judge for assisting in coming to such a good decision, he actually gave him 5k to donate to the village retirement fund. At least it wasn't under the table. :o

  10. Seems good value on Agoda - B1750.

Can anyone confirm if this place is good value and guest friendly?

Is it a little too far from Nana?

    Cheers.

Not from nana at all, perhaps 10 mins by taxi during those kind of hours. unsure about the friendliness of guests though :o

  11. That's why sports is good. It's hard to change the fact that a team won 2-1 in extra time. :D

But it's not that hard to say that the losing side were:

    a. injured or sick

    b. victims of poor refree judgement

    c. victims of rough-play

    d. unadjusted to the weather

    :D

true, but the results stand - regardless of what the media say. :o

  12. i'm reading 12 million on ESPN and daily mail on line.

    they're wrong mate.

I think the Guardian is probably closer to the actual truth....

So far only about £10m has changed hands between Liverpool and Spurs. There are strong rumours in the financial world that only £5m came from Liverpool's reserves. The rest, it is said, was borrowed money, coming from a specialist football-loans company.

That would mean that not only would Liverpool have to take the £10m balance of payments out of Benítez's future budget, but they would also have to furnish the debt service on the loans.

Liverpool's American co-owner, George Gillett, said at a conference last year that Liverpool had "no covenants" on their £350m senior loan with RBS and Wachovia. That situation would enable further borrowing for transfer activity.

That all meant that the most sensible outcome regarding Keane would have been for Tottenham to cancel the two tranches of the fee due on the first transfer, and take him back. And, lo, Keane returned to Tottenham yesterday.

  13. Have to disagree with losing Keane. He was useless and wasting far too much supply making him a liability as opposed to an asset. He was a weak choice in the first place and hardly capable of filling in for Torres (as he proved). No loss in my books.

The current (Keaneless) squad is good enough as we proved last Sunday eh?

Sort the Mancs out at their ground and we're well in contention :o

Seeing as you only got 12 million in return and no player, I would think that he would have been more useful as cover for Torres in case of injury and to give him a break in FA cup games or EPL matches when you have it in the bag at half time.

Time will tell. As for sorting us out next month, if I were you I would be more worried about Everton this week. :D

  14. Frank Lampard will see his three-match ban wiped out by the FA today after referee Mike Riley admitted he made a horrible mistake on Sunday at Anfield. - Daily Mail

Good, after watching it again last night could have been the biggest cock up of the year had it not been overturned. Unfortuneately, does little good as far as the LP Chels match is concerned.

  15. In the end they still earn decent money, and when certain refs are constantly making fundamental mistakes, ti's easy to loose patience with them. Riley's performance last night was shocking.

I know it's a tough job, but these Ref's have chosen that as a career, so the sympathy from me isn't there.

i don't think i can think of any other job where the decisions you have to make in a split-second are so dissected and agonised over by so-called experts and the population at large though. i think the best referees are a bit mental, like the best goalkeepers. when they have a good game it barely gets talked about, if they have a bad game though then they're fuc_ked for ages.

so what you are saying then is reina is perfectly sain?

  16. i dont get it, what do you actually expect from public transport? its little better or little worse than many places i have visited.

I don't think anyone's really complaining, t.s., just having a bit of a therapeutic moan. Like I said straight off, it's a great system but when you use it twice a day, every day for several years, early in the morning and after a long day at the office, there are some things that start to tick you off.

Like, why are both lines green?

that's easy, they had sale on names that week - buy one green and get another free. you know how it works here, get with the programme mate :o

  18. You just load the card up with money (I add 3000 baht at a time). Be sure to get a receipt after loading. Then you use it for all purchases by handing it to the shop assistant and she scans the card. Again, always get a receipt after purchases.

On your receipt, you will see your points mounting up and these can be redeemed for items at a later date.

It is a very good idea, because it takes the hassle out of using cash and getting change. Plus, I give it to the Mrs, to use sometimes because no signature is required.

The sad thing is, not many people have taken it up, if they did those 7-11 queues would lessen.

what good are the points for? plastic this and that you will wish you never got in the first place. personally, unless a discount is offered on all purchases, I see no value in handing over cash to 7/11 in advance.
