  1. This topic should be fun :o

As for me, Bangers isn't really my thing. I do go to several meet ups there (with some members off ThaiVisa) whenever i can and i always thoroughly enjoy myself. But i couldn't see myself living there.

Saying that, if the company i work for wanted to relocate me to Bangers, on a similar package to what i'm on in Saudi, i'd be knocking the doors down in HR :D

yep, i hear ya, at least here the culture police won't come after you unless you wear spaghetti bikinis as songkran.

  2. No, not really. :o I usually find that kind of stuff hilarious, especially if it's making fun of my favorite team, myself, my religion, my nationality, etc. Seriously. But that just wasn't funny. So, no, it didn't hit too close to home, it was just humourless. Sorry, no bait, no dice. You really must work on your one liners.

actually I am quite enjoying all this. usually we are relegated to taking on chelsea or arse fans during the title race, you fine LP folk are a nice change of pace - reminds me of the good old days.

as for one-liners, i will leave the mind games to Master Fergie, who has (with the little help from stonefaced rafa), got your team tripping over itself, heads, feet and mouths.

  3. hmm, when she is done with the game, she can take up another one in jockeying for position with the katoeys in front of nana.

    :o

She looks like Rio Ferdinand with hair. :D

Could be worse , she could look like Carloz Tevez, Stephen (ET) Ireland or any one of many players. I was in Aus for an extended period 18 mths ago and watched a womens tournament on the ethnic ,football friendly , TV Channel SBS. Was amazed at the standard produced and the power of some of the girls. Was all played in a good spirit to o, no shirt pulling or diving. Pity therir game doesnt get more exposure in Asia. I know in Oz its among the fastest growing sports.

more exposure in Asia? aussie rules sheball? no thanks, I will stick to my morning wank watching that exercise show.

  4. i am hoping that by the time i am ready to have children that i can afford to live the lifestyle i am living here, in these places cause i feel that bangkok leaves a lot to be desired.

    its a complete dump.

you say so much with the above. where to begin.

when will you be ready to have children? 10 years me thinks

afford the lifestyle you live here - teaching doesn't pay well in singapore?

leaves alot to be desired - but isn't is a great place to desire

    it's a complete dump - thank you, we wouldn't change a thing

  5. I find the discussions on what the “average” Thai salary pretty much worthless. The range is so wide the average doesn’t really mean anything. I sit here in my office in Bangkok and look at the 6 Thai that report directly to me and their salaries range from 45k a month all the way up to 125k. These are university educated, mid to late 30’s people with 5-15 years experience working in the Engineering and Construction business. These ranges seem to be pretty normal for this business. So much for the 12k a month average

    TH

Duh, that's what it's an average. Get it? You can talk about the gap between the rich and poor with other figures or go ahead and talk about the average of a certain industry. Of course there will be a wide range.

I believe in the context of the OP's question, your theory is also flawed. If one person earned a billion baht a year and 999 earned 10000, of course the average is much higher but in real world terms, not reflective of the actual state.

The OP could have made this much easier by qualifying his question - such as what is the average wage for Thai workers in the banking field for example. But then again, someone coming onto a predominently farang site to ask specific questions about thai salaries should speak for itself.

  6. This from the Wacky World of Football website. :o
Nigel Quashie had the unenviable reputation of being relegated with four teams in his first seasons with them -

Queens Park Rangers 1996-1996 - relegated from Premiership

Nottingham Forest 1998-1999 - relegated from Premiership

Southampton 2004-2005 - relegated from Premiership

West Bromwich Albion 2005-2006- relegated from Premiership

& how he didn't end up getting relegated that Season for us was only due to the fact that he broke his Foot in March, otherwise he would have kept playing & even our little Carlitos's magic wouldn't have been able to save us then... :D

just checked some UK websites, the odds on Castle been relegated just dropped.

  7. hmm, when she is done with the game, she can take up another one in jockeying for position with the katoeys in front of nana.

    :o

I wonder if she insists on wearing the captains armband as well?

What's her (his) position, center back or center forward? does she like to push forward or lay back and take it as it comes? how is she with her head, does use it to go after the high balls? How is does she cross? and her marking ... xxy?

  8. In the same way, i dont have a mobile phone, not until the brain cancer link is investigated... but yes, the huge mobile phone tower a block away from me, above a Thai friends house DOES concern me of her safety and that of her new baby.

    enjoy your coffee!

let me guess, the Kinks are your all-time favorite band?

as for the mobile phones and towers and cancer and all that, drink more coffee - mate, lots of free-radical fighting anti-oxidants in each cup. :o

  9. money can't buy me love...(skysports.com)

Kaka's adviser has warned Manchester City that they must prove their ambition if they want to sign the AC Milan superstar.

Widespread reports suggest Manchester City officials have travelled to Milan in a bid to broker a sensational move for the Brazil international.

Reports have claimed City are prepared to break the bank to bring Kaka to Eastlands in a world record transfer deal.

However, Kaka's spokesman Diogo Kotscho insists the player will not be swayed by money and that he will only join City if they can match his ambitions.

"To accept Manchester City, Kaka wouldn't do a matter based on money", he told Corriere dello Sport. "But to the competitiveness of the English side.

"Ricky would like a strong side. He would never do something like Robinho, who, just to earn more, contented himself with not a winning solution."

Milan have always insisted Kaka was not for sale at any price, but it remains to be seen if they will be able to resist the mega offer from City in this month's transfer window.

  10. the italian coffee industry supported the nazis in the second world war

    Good point.

I have many Jewish friends in the UK, but they dont contribute to the US/Israeli mess in the middle east.

Just like i wont touch Dominoes pizzas, because the owner is Christian fundamentalist.

    Its about informed choice.

no offense mate, but hate to be you. just out of curiosity, do you do as much due diligence regarding thai companies / products and their political affiliations?

  11. Let's see, according to the Thai Spa association, we have exactly 29,345 places to get a massage in the country. Some are good some are bad, some are nice some are not. Some make you feel good, some make you have a happy ending. Some are guys, some are for gals.

Perhaps, you can narrow down your preferences to something like location, services required, etc etc. I know, I am asking for alot but forgive me, I am too lazy to do all the work for you.

  12. Not that i ever go to Starbucks, knowing they make 000% on a few coffee beans... this article caught my eye today:

As for Maccy D's - are they still getting beef from the ex Amazon rainforests? dam_n them all.

    Starbucks Supports Israel

Posted: Fri 4th July 2008 9.33 AM | Author: Sam Hailes

schultz.jpgChairman, president and CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz is a Jew who actively supports Israel through his multi-million dollar company. 56 year-old Schultz has been part of Starbucks since 1982 when he joined as a Marketing Consultant. Starbucks currently serves 15 million customers a week with a variety of coffees, teas and snacks in nearly 4,000 stores worldwide. They also offer a range of Kosher and Fair trade products.

Schultz has helped with projects and seminars held in both Israel and North America, in which university students hear Israeli perspectives on the current Middle East tensions. In 1998 Schultz was honoured with "The Israel 50th Anniversary Friend of Zion Tribute Award" for his services in "playing a key role in promoting close alliance between the United States and Israel.” He has also been commended by those inside the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

Speaking in 2002 at a synagogue in Seattle, Howard Schultz warned his fellow Jews about the rise of anti-Semitism: "What is going on in the Middle East is not an isolated part of the world. The rise of anti-Semitism is at an all-time high since the 1930's…If you leave this synagogue tonight and go back to your home and ignore this, then shame on us” he said.

Starbucks even opened 6 stores in Israel, teaming up with Shalom Coffee Ltd. However Starbucks were forced to pull out of the deal in 2003 due to ‘operational challenges.’ Schultz continues to support Israel and plans to take his company back to the Land in the future.

And what is your point - that Jews like coffee? I am not Jewish but enjoy coffee alot. Espresso only, italian beans preferred. Did you know that the italian coffee industry supported the nazis in the second world war? Each day before battle, each soldier was giving a shot of expresso and sent off to battle.

It is said that coffee and politics don't mix. I say don't blame the coffee - blame the mix.

  13. i'd be a bit concerned if i were you mrbj. this is not a way to build a strong and sustainable club. the owners probably think that steven ireland isn't glamourous enough for them.

i have it on good opinion that little stevie grew that little beard to sub-consciously (sp) make the new owners like him and keep him around.

  14. Football Focus:

Watched it last night and was wondering if anyone else feels the same. While it's understandable to have LP, UTD, Chels and Arsenal at the forefront week on week because of the title race, why is it that just because Spurs supporter Shebby is on the show we have to listen to weekly 10 min discussions about the Spurs?

I for one would like to hear what's going on at Hull and other teams from time to time.

    Rant over.

  15. Theoretically end this year, practically early - mid next year, SRT keep asking for (and getting) extensions of time.

It will go to Swampy Airport, station is under the terminal :o

    Express Service

Suvarnabhumi Airport - Makkasan (City Air Terminal - interchange with MRT Blue Line (Phetchaburi Station))

    Commuter Service

Suvarnabhumi Airport - Lad Krabang - Thub Chang - Hua Mark - Ramkhamhaeng - Makkasan (City Air Terminal - interchange with MRT Blue Line (Phetchaburi Station)) - Ratchaprarop - Phayathai (interchange with BTS Sukhumvit Line (Phayathai Station))

    A good responsible reply

Why can't all thaivisa replies be helpful and informative. why do so many posters have to flame, be rude and seem always to misunderstand the most basic of poinys being raised in discussion. "If I don't agree. If I don't really understand - then I will flame" seems a common mantra here.

You need to differentiate between the general forum and specific topics. The general forum is a free for all.

Anyways, regarding this topic - it appears they have gone the cheap route for powering the trains via overhead cables unlike say the BTS.

Will this result in more breakdowns? Oops - missed my flight. Certainly will be higher maintenence.

  16. Edited : Man City = They have the same amount of Shots on Target as the League Leaders, are more accurate with them than the League Leaders, but lie close to the relegation Zone ???????? Defending is so obviously the problem there then surely ??

Nail on the head Singh :D

Hopefully we will address this very shortly. (insert fingers crossed smily)

I agree, signing kaka will help with your goals against. :o

Or, we could carry on leaking goals but as long as we score more in a game than we let in, it's still the same result :D

BJ, losing 5-4 instead of 5-1 is the same result mate.

James, re-read my post. I said as long as we score MORE in a game than we let in.

Yes I did bj, but i mentioned kaka and you mentioned scoring more,,,anyways, me thinks you need to spend 50 million x2 on defenders and forget kaka the great.

We have enough money to buy Kaka and others. Surely you wouldn't turn down Kaka, if he said he'd go to United would you?

am i the only one that thinks he is a tad over-rated? very very good no doubt but year on year touted as one of the top 3 players in the world?

  18. whu did you not buy a blanket for him though ???? just a pair of socks .. if i realy see someone suffering i will take him to a shelter or buy some clothes for him/her . feed them up . what is a few 1000 bath for us these days . i know we all can't save the world and do this for everyone but you bought him socks ?? so why not more ??

well duh, it's not like we didn't think of that, there was no place to buy a blanket where we were- or we would have bought one for ourselves as well.

Girlx, seeing as it's so cold I was wondering if we could meet up and I can get you to show me all your little leather things you keep to keep you warm?

  19. Ronaldo Named FIFA World Player Of The Year

"It's the most overwhelming moment of my life," Ronaldo has said.[/i]

saw part of it on BBC last night...

its a shame women football is so under-rated. the woman that got it (I cant even remember her name!) has got it for 3 consecutive years!!

    women play football?

To say Play is a very loose useage of the word

If a woman can't remember the woman's name, how does she expect us to remember that women play football? :o

  20. While on the topic of correcting English, let's have a closer look at what you have written.

but wherever l (h) e lives and works he is still naive and obviously does not like any(no space)one having an opinion different from him (his own). as i said, flaming gives away the fact that he has lost his argument

As for the Swedish couple, they won't see 15 days nevermind 15 years. The connections between the two countries are at the highest level possible ( :o ) and this story is not good for either one of them.
