  1. I am sure that most people who come on here have some connections at their own clubs :D

I doubt james has connections at United Jack. He's never even been there, so i imagine the only connection he has, is his internet connection to their web site :D

wrong yet again bj but getting used to it, but i forgive you given the lack of sleep you must be incurring due to little BJ in the house (mine is 5 months away :D ).

as far as connections go with UTD, we have a cdn on the team albeit injured - does that count? :o

What am i wrong about james? Have you actually been there? I thought in another thread you said you went to Manchester but didn't make it to the ground.

As for BabyJangles, no she's not with me yet. The Mrs and baby are coming over to join me in Saudi in two weeks. Good luck with your little one though. Hopefully he/she will see sence and support City :D

    Where should I begin...

    1) You believed that having the richest owner would buy you instant success

    2) should i carry on.....

re Old Trafford, true I didn't make it but then again I wasn't in the city on a holiday and it was only one night. Did manage to pop into a sports shop and viewed some old UTD memorabilia (pictures of Roy Keane kicking the daylights out of a city player and similar quality material)

Two more weeks, enjoy life now - get out and have some fun before BabyBj arrives - oh sorry you are in saudi, i forgot.

As for lil James becoming a City fan, well if that ever happened I have it written into my will that anything I leave him when I depart will be taken back, disinfected and burned.

  2. hey yas didn't we see him frolicking in nana plaza a couple of days ago?

    that was me, again

More 8 second bull rides?!?!? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! (Look, I had to do it; RJT is not here, and if he were here, he would say it.)

what can i say, most women who ride me don't take long to get off.

as for RJT, seems him and lil Thithi have run off to get married.

  4. "Turning down so much money is something to admire." Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi.

and under his breath he whispers to himself "sh+t, we could have made a bundle off a Kaka and the little religeous boy goes and screws it up!"

  5. 14 Million Pounds for Bellamy - done deal :o , great piece of business by the hammers

Its actually 12 million. 10 million now, and 2 million later, after a certain number of appearances.

No it's not, it's 14m but don't worry about it, you've got loads of money... :D

Who are you? West Hams Accountant? :D

There are different figures, depending on which publication you read.

I have seen 2 reports quoting 12m, one of which says 10m+2m.

That second figure has been confirmed to me by someone who has connections at City :D

Am I seeing double (ref post 2474 in this thread) or did you think we missed the fact that you have connections as City?

  6. I grew up riding horses, not eating them but to each their own I guess.

anyways, if the tourism industry remains in dire straits, i suggest a quick visit downt Horse Shoe Point resort in Patts to see if they have any old mares kicking around that are no longer in use. :o

  7. Refreshing to see someone such as Kaka turns down millions to remain at his club. Sends a good message.

Your'e right james. The only thing is, now i know how loyal he is, i want him even more :D

Before you praise the lord, keep in mind that while 'loyalty' is the word be used alot to mark his actions, perhaps the thought of no European football this year or next and fighting for mid-table at best, played a BIG part in his decision.

Very true however he was loyal to Milan this year without no CL Football which is a big thing for a Club & Player as big as Milan & Kaka..

True, but his prospects of returning to it are better at Milan than City I am afraid to say. Failing all this, perhaps he just likes living close to the Vatican?

Or is aware how much of a sh*thole Manchester is ?? :D

You obviously haven't been there for quite a while. Robinho loves it and feels safe enough that he will even take the bus. Name me a player from your team who has risked that, in your run down sh1thole of an area. :D

we don't take the bus, we crash ferraris (red ones)

That's cos the buses don't go to an Industrial Estate, except for match days :o

but i have picture in my mind now of lil robbie sitting in the back of the bus with a scarf, hat, and sucking on his thumb.

  8. I'm new here ... visitor to Thailand, avid student of the culture and, recently, the language.

Online I met a Thai woman, student, who I plan to visit soon. We've corresponded much (emails, chat); her family -- rice farmers -- live in a northern village, and are very poor. Probably will be a mak mak strange experience, for me at least, since she speaks only a little English and I speak only a little Thai, so far.

I realize most who might help me could have a "where do I start" mindset, but I'd like to know if there's something I should be particularly wary of, or aspects I should consider? Thanks in advance for any / all help.

Explain to her that you are poor, if she hangs around - marry her. good luck.

Thanks, James. I'm doing my best not to be cynical -- realizing also that "cynical" means something different here than it does there. It's part of what I was asking about ...

not cynical - realistic is a better description, trust your instincts and not your heart

  9. You cannot condone what israel have done to women and children, but America and the allies did the same in iraq.If countries like Thailand, get away with refusing to serve israelis thats up to them as there are no racist laws here.If i was an israeli, especialy a soldier having some r&r,i would be very careful where i went, because there is plenty of hate towards this country. The media have jumped on the FACT that many civilians have been murdered in this war and very few israelis have.

dont forget what the bali bombers did, the russians who shot down the airliner.......

should we put up a sign no indonesians and russians served?

  12. not in any fuc_king way a happy camper this morning. two and a half hours sleep on the back of that horrible get cahill being left wide open to score a sucker goal. blown it we have.

like i said before, 2-3 times this season we had the late game and it was a draw. hate them with a passion.

look at this way stevie, at least it was an australian that tied it :o

it was a 'draw', not a 'tie'.

and what does him being australian have to do with it?

have a coffee and come back mate. first sentence i said the result was a draw, second sentence i said an australian tied it (the game).

as for cahill being australian, could have been worse, could have been a canadian :D

  16. What would you have us discuss GH, possible ideas for renaming the country hub-land?

That would at least be Thailand related, and if you could manage to discuss the subject with some modicum of intelligence or insight, you might have something to say that is worth reading.

Is that a flame GH, a bit early in the day in Saudi for that isn't it. Did you wake up on the wrong side of your prayer mat?

  17. "In Bangkok, a corpulent European man and a young pregnant Thai woman live together in near silence. His large body stands out in marked contrast to with tiny frame. He gives her presents – she has a growing collection of stuffed animals – and takes Viagra pills. She is looking for security and he is the best way to stay out of Soi Cowboy, the red-light district where they met. She likes him but sleeping with him is a duty. Meanwhile, in the countryside, a teenage mafia enforcer is employed to deliver his older brother’s head."

is it a comedy? Social criticism? Both?

the description sounds a bit absurd.

this was covered recently as last week on here somewhere, do a search, I think its in the farang pub section

  18. Now let's see. We have statements by a couple of TV members that Israeli tourists are obnoxious and/or that they have seen signs to that effect. We have a photo of a sign which we are told is in a guesthouse/hotel that states No Israelis welcome and we have claims that these signs are wide spread (we also have a counter claim that one member has never seen such a sign. Make that two, because I've never seen one either).

Added to this we have other members posting on the subject of signs banning the entrance of people of Arabic origin.

On the flip side we can open the pages of our newspapers, or log on to our favorite online news source were, under the heading of 'Foreigner makes a right arse of himself' Israelis are conspicuous by their absence. One other nationality however excels in getting the honors for ill mannered, and often illegal behavior, not just in Thailand, but globally.

So what do we have here?

It seems we have a post discussing discrimination against people of Israeli/Arabic origin.

The internet offers anonymity while on the other hand offering a grand stage for people to display their tiny minds.

Petty prejudice and tiny minded ignorance, is that what we can look forward to here on TV?

What would you have us discuss GH, possible ideas for renaming the country hub-land?

  19. £14 million for Bellamy. That is a lot of money for an injury prone player.

It's ridiculous money paid by a Club with now, unfortunately, more money than sense...

However their idiocy will benefit us so not a problem in my book..

like i said, 14 million for an injury prone trouble maker is good business.

  21. Mods, this thread is about Thailand.

I've noticed many Thai restaurants and hotels with big signs reading NO ISRAELIS!

I wonder what it feels like for the average Israeli traveling here. Usually they are in large, obnoxious groups so maybe they barely even realize where they are, insulated by their own.

If I was Israeli traveling internationally, I would go out of my way to be polite, courteous and quiet. After all, most of the world hates your government. (500 babies killed is okay as long as some 'terrorists' lost their lives too).

So why does it seem that so many seem to go out of their way to be rude and loud, to the point that even the Thais finally say enough is enough, NO ISRAELIS. And if you were one of the chosen people and God promised this land to you that is so great and worth killing everyone for, then why would you ever leave that place?

I used to be pretty open minded. But like the Thai restaurant owner with the sign in the window, I'm no longer quite so understanding.

It appears you are from Chiang Mai. Can you take few photos of these signs and post them here? No camera you say? ok, we will all take your word for it. :o
