  1. just over a year ago I twas in the fine city and was about to hop the train to OT to pick up a few hats and things for my arse and chels mates back here. Unfortuneately, the reality of fine Manchester December weather got the better of me and I just went back to the hotel and got pissed.

LOL! you mean you got within a handful of miles of the place and didn't go? bloody hellfire james lad.

what can I say, meetings in Blackburn of all places finished about 4, time I got back to the hotel was 530ish, pissing rain and 3 degrees....you get the picture.

anyways, my arse and chels mates are really not that nice anyway. fuc*em I say.

besides, i figure i could pull this out as required to prove that my allegience to my team is more than just hats, scarves, and photos of me beside OT.

  2. Non Immigrant O Visa -- Multi Entry

My Visa issued 18 Aug 2008

    First utilised 28 Aug 2008

Expires 17 Aug 2009 (one year visa)

    The Question is

---- How best to utilise the last entry? Could I depart and re-enter Thailand on the 16 August and get a new 3 month visa?

    U are correct.

  3. that's why i said "deep in the kaka" ...should he sign I have new song for him we can all chant when city visits.

As you've never been to Old Trafford, i don't think your voice will be heard :o

  4. Top knowledge indeed but, did you know, Kaka means sh*t in Slovenian? Even funnier is that it also means the same thing in Portugese, Spanish and Italian.

True that is which is why Kaká wants that accent over the final 'a' to be properly stressed, & you can hardly blame him... :o

yeah, you can't blame him can you? maybe city also need to sign dudu, dunga, danny shittu and rafael scheidt.

did you know that 'rooney' in gaelic means 'flabby potato-faced handjob'?

stevie what happened, you just wake up from your afternoon nap mate? since we are a slingin the mud around today, i hear the FT fakes those hamsting injuries so he can get rubbed down twice a day by bald tattoed ex dock workers who have been re-trained under the Government's re-trenching programme.

Do me a favor, tell FT that when his football days are over he can come to BKK and get a part-time job freelancing in NP's katoey bars, the only difference is he won't earn as much per week, but the fringe benefits are better and certainly more fulfilling.

  5. His younger brother couldn't pronounce Ricardo

I remember one of my nieces who loved the fizzy drink "Dandelion and Burdock". Some of the ways she tried to pronounce that when ever she went to het nan's was histerical.

    top knowledge there mrbj.

  6. wouldn't this be nice...

Ramon Calderon will pay the price for finding himself at the heart of a corruption scandal after the newspaper Marca – which Ferguson accused of acting in cahoots with the president – revealed that he had rigged the vote at Real's members' assembly in order to secure approval for his running of the club.

Calderon will be replaced by vice-president Vicente Boluda and it appears likely that new elections will be called for the summer. The former president, Florentino Perez, who signed David Beckham from Manchester United in the summer of 2003 for £25 million, is understood to be considering a comeback.

Marca provided photographic evidence to back up their allegation that Calderon had stacked a Dec 7 annual assembly with fake delegates. And although the president sacked two members of staff and vowed to fight on, his directors were trying to persuade him to walk away on Thursday night.

The revelations were the latest nail in Calderon's coffin after he failed to deliver on his electoral promise to sign Kaka and Cesc Fabregas.

Worse still, he failed to land Ronaldo despite publicly and privately insisting that the Portuguese winger would be coming to the Bernabeu.

Real's interest in Ronaldo will be undimmed, however. And Ferguson may find that by next summer he has an even more difficult foe to face.

  7. now with the window closing in a few weeks, i am wondering if we are gonna be shocked by Sheik City this time around ala robbie.

with kaka at the forefront and seemingly on his way, me thinks that another shocker will happen on d-day. Nothing grabs a headline back in the UAE like signing who..... shall we guess?

    Messi

    John Terry

    Petr Chech

    Sergio Ramos

    how about San Francisco Totti?

  8. DJ B Traits (female drum & bass dj) will be playing at Bed tonight

by the way i was totally disappointed in this DJ- the only reason she is famous is that she has a pretty face. her MC was ok but most people abandoned the room she was spinning in to go to the other room to dance.

i am really not into Bed anymore... it is predominantly farang men trying to pick up, and thai girls doing the same. shame, as the venue is nice.

is there any other reason to go to a nightclub? just to be seen? :o

  9. I received this email from the forum:

  10. Thailand seeks Japanese 'who stole firm's 49 million yen'

BANGKOK--Thai police have obtained an arrest warrant for a 55-year-old Japanese man on suspicion he stole operating funds worth about 49 million yen from a Japanese building material company in November, it has been learned.

The police determined Hideki Sugawara, an executive of the manufacturing company Siam TKM in Rayong Province, Thailand, and a native of Iwate Prefecture, had left for Cambodia by land, sources said. The police have placed him on international wanted lists via Interpol.

According to the police, Sugawara allegedly removed a company bank passbook under the name of its president and withdrew 19.15 million baht, worth about 49.2 million yen, from a bank in an industrial park in the province.

-The Yomiuri Shimbun (Japan) / Jan. 16, 2009

i wonder if the bank employee who accepted this small withdrawl is in on it? you would need three fortuners to carry this much in 1000 baht notes i would guess.

    More like, 3 briefcases.

nope, sorry, wrong yet again, the last time i did this it took 3 cars

  11. Are we just complaining about international super markets here or does this include BigC as well? I love them and loads of Thais love them as well looking at their car parks which are full.

Big C if I am not mistaken is part of the Casino group - one of the largest retail groups in the world.

  12. £500,000-a-week

I think I would trot out on the park for 90 mins just the once, I could live the rest of my life in Thailand very comfortably for just that weeks wages.

I bet the likes of Bill Foulkes and co who worked down the mine all week and then turned out on Saturday to play for Man Utd etc., are spinning in their respective graves.

    <deleted> Crazy Money................ :o

For City's sake, they had hope he doesn't turn into another Deco.

or another juan veron. there's no end of gifted and talented players who weren't suited to the english league. think kaka could probably show his class just about anywhere though.

what did milan pay for him? about 10m wasn't it?

wonder what the reaction from milan fans will be when he goes, i doubt berlasakoni :D has any plans to use the money to attract other tops players - probably use it for political purposes

  13. Actually a Thai wedding doesn’t cost anything. The most important is the box at the entrance where people drop their envelope. Usually people don’t bring gifts, just an envelope. What is inside depends of who you invite. Your wife should know. Just multiply the number of guest by the average “envelope” and you get the budget for your wedding.

***note, if you marry young, keep in mind your mrs friends of similar age and background also come with the same earning / spending power.

Needless to say, our wedding was filled with new grads (sorry, no uniforms) for which my 10 male farang friends were very grateful for. Small price to pay to ensure your guests happiness. :o

ps, the box of envelopes didn't add up to the cost of the wedding

  14. Didn't want to pollute those other fine threads with this so here goes.

Last week I warned of the dreaded nil nil late game vis-a-vis liverpool. This week here are my can't miss choices.

Shock (not) of the week - Wigan to beat City, UTD to nip it late. LP and Everton to tie 1-1 and WB to clip southgate and crew.

These picks are free for all and carry the warning - use at your own risk.

  15. How about….

Just set the BUDGET first….how much “the max amount’ are you willing to spend.

Then….fit as many people and things "within that budget".

In the end, some people and things will need to be left out,…oh well, so be it!!!

    Just me

In fact, that's exactly what we did. Most refreshing thing at the end of it all was no borrowing or credit card bills to worry about post nuptuals.

    Ahh.....great minds think alike....yeah? :o

they do, let me know when you find someone on here that has one.

  18. I've often thought the same sort of thing about Refs..

They're Humans after all, more than a passing interest in Football obviously so it's only natural that they must have followed certain Club's as Kids/Adults, surely ??

They are humans, getting paid a relative pittance of, I believe, around 500 pounds per game. With all the money in the game, that is a ridiculous low amount.

What worries me is the gambling effects.

Look at 'bookings'. Over/under is normally the equivalent of 4-5 bookings per game. Referee earning 500 per game is offered 50000 pounds to ensure equivalent of 5 bookings per game. Possible? Likely?

I believe that this is happening in the game right now, no proof, but gut feeling.

They should make referees, highly paid, highly accountable individuals. Subject to scrutiny and criticism. Pay them a large enough amount, they will put up with the scrutiny and criticism.

There is already talk in the UK about investigations into match fixing, although not involving Premiership games, its only a matter of time. Look what happened in Italy.

I am not sure what the FA is trying to prove. Firstly, they are loaded. The EPL is the best league with many of the best players - why can't we 'buy' the best refs.

  19. hey all

can someone give me a rough total cost for a wedding in thai

my thai wife & i registered our marriage last year, but now she wants

the whole party thing with family & friends

im not at all interested in a big show, so what are the costs

for a normal traditional thai wedding. im farang with little money

    at present.

    thanks for any sensible comments

it various greatly depending on location and size. 5 star hotel reception big bucks, somtam and other snacks in lumpini park - a bargain,

but seriously, find a restaurant and hold it there. don't forget photos, invitations, entertainment and all those things. is she from bkk or upcountry - upcountry wedding would be cheaper i would guess (for many reasons).

  20. Well, no luck so far. :D

The cardboard signage guys @ On Nut 77, wanted 8000bt for 3 hours work . :o

8Kb is taking the p*ss, I'd pay 4Kb if pushed!

I can't even get a Vigo let alone a Standard ute for personal use this weekend.

Tried Budget, Hertz, Quality car rentals, Thai Prestige and 'Googling'

Bangkok Post not stocked at Carrefour Mall or On Nut BTS.

Could someone list some names & numbers from the BP?

    Thanks :D

Bangkok Post is sold at the little bookstore on the bts station at On Nut and most other stations. Go earlier in the day if you find its sold out when you wake up at noon mate :D
