Does "Americans" include Canadians and Central and South Americans or just those from the US? If it does not include Canadians and South Americans how come they are not represented in this poll? How about Africans, Australians, and other Europeans? Eskimos, Latvians, Gypsies, and the tribal peoples of Papua New Guinea? Doesn't it just drive you crazy when these people kick the back of your seat, eat blubber, block the aisles, pick you pockets, hog the overhead bin and shrink heads while your trying to enjoy your flight. Maddening I tell you.

I don't know, the cypriots i worked with when I was there last year for a few months oft referred to their food as greekish and considering that half of them zoom of the bright lights of athens for regular long weekends, combined with their utter hatred of the turks, don't really see an issue if I say Greek / Cypriot food.

Well, unlike some, I have to work for a living so my time is pretty much taken up tending to clients, and besides, posting a picture of a empty head is not that hard, someone who fits that description comes to mind come to think of it!

OP, perhaps you need to broaden your dining horizons a bit if you think 13 coins is the best western restaurant in the city?

Sounds to me to be the 'western' equivalent to a suki / bbq shop in a mall.

Whats your recommended place? (don't rule out a restaurant by what it 'sounds' like )

I'm pretty new to the area, so still finding new places to eat at.

Bangkok is blessed with hundreds of good international fare options from world-class dining to basic street food.

Example, yesterday I was in the plates / glasses / chinese cookery zone of JJ Market and stumbled across what has got to be the best bbq pork I have had in Thailand. Unlike the bbq pork found in typical places that can be a bit chewy, this one melted in your mouth. Even someone with false teeth could eat this, it was that tender! It had a semi-sweet bbq seasoning that is addictive.

That's ok if you don't find me sexy dear, I prefer to at least be able to ask my partners questions like "who is the prime minister of Thailand?" and such before having to follow them around like a lost puppy all night.

I eat at the Atrium outdoor part of the landmark once or twice a week. Daily they have very good lunch special consisting of warm rolls, a starter (example, depends on the day but smoked salmon, or buffalo mozza and tomatoes) followed by a main for only 199 baht +++.

However, I notice recently that the time between finishing the starter and getting the main has increased significantly to anywhere between 10-15 mins whereas before it was no more than 5 mins.

I asked if they had a new chef and the reply was yes. Seems a local has taken on the duties and we are now on 'local' time.

That being said, food quality is still very good, if but a bit slower.

Interesting. Many posters say eat everything except the mexican, pizzas etc but steaks are ok. Take away the pizzas, burgers, mexican etc, and I guess the steak and thai food is good.

whats your opinion about a new greek restaurant with original greek taste of food in bangkok or in pattaya?

we want to make your belly to be verry happy about this portions of real greek food

Be quiet Honger or go back yourself, I for one would welcome a good Greek / Cypriot restaurant in Bangkok where we can have a proper mezze.

The more authentic you make it, the more successful you will be. Please avoid hiring staff that just stand there expressionless and point at the menu and say, you want number 28?

They are in general overpriced and so-so at best.

Evn the so called high class hotels are overpriced there.

That is not fair, I have visited the park frequently and often seen the ponds and lakes being cleaned out by what I assume is staff there, and indeed Thais.

If the water is going bad it might be because of other factors, but not because of poor care. Anyone with experience of caring for a pond or even an aquarium, knows that once you have rot, it can easy spread out of control, and there is not much one can do about it.

The park is lovely and have many great spots for a good day outing. I am sure the situation will improve.

it will only improve if those responsible for it (I assume some Thai authority) cleans it. A new concept in this part of the world I know, but prevenative maintenence is in most cases much cheaper than fixing things after they break.
