    quote from gayman ronaldo.

i am number i,2 and 3 in the world, what the efff is that.i would be realy pissed off if a stoke player had said that.who does he think he is the bloody queen of england.thats what gives your club a bad name.

bad name? unlike others at least CR can also walk the walk.

  2. I write but not all of you read. It is a Tromm 7.5 kilo LG. The cotton program is over 3 hours. Electricity here costs more than water. You can't add all the programs together, the cotton wash starts at 3:05 and soon becomes 3 and a half hours if you add extras.

Water input is cold - it has its own heating element to 90c. I read the manual. 3 hours seems over the top.

It is mate, no wonder that one you bought (off the back of a truck) was such a good deal. :D

Off the back of the truck into Numchai's loading dock. I'm sure that's what you meant. While I used to be a policewoman, I hope you don't think we in America are corrupt like the rotten police I have met here. I would have fired each and every one of them and brought them up on charges.

The people here with guns are not police. A peace officer is a noble profession, these people are mainly criminal hacks with guns.

And do you Brits call your women "mate" as well as your male friends?

Well mate, I aint british although I have been seen once or twice in the company of some. But I guess we were both assuming (you a male, me a brit :D )

My point was I guess it wasn't such a good deal. :o

  3. Arsenal star Theo Walcott could be out for 12 weeks with the dislocated shoulder he sustained in training for England. (Various)

And capello wonders why nobody wants to play in friendlies, never mind train for them.

  4. The Thai boat, which was flying a Kiribati flag, but operated out of Thailand, made a distress call late on Monday

    kr-s.gif

Had to look that one up myself... it used to be the Gilbert Islands...tiny nation of only 105,432 people on 32 tiny, small pieces of land (280 square miles total), but spread out over a huge area (1,351,000 square miles) in the South Pacific...

John, perhaps there is an opening for you at the Government ....

Thai government spokesperson Nattawut Sai-gua said he had not been informed of the development. He said officials are checking with their diplomatic missions in the region. :o

  5. No she didn't work for the goverment. Actually what chose the date was, Sopha said "We can marry on the 10th".

I said "No way the 10th is my unlucky day."

    "Why is 10 unlucky?"

"That's the anniversary I had with the 1st wife." :o

So I just said we will marry friday, never even thought about the date.

All good points. But just keep a look out if she keeps putting the salt shaker next to your elbow or keeps asking for a dark haired cat, for that matter, double check her lottery numbers to make sure they are not 666 and while you are at it, better fix those cracks in the sidewalk outside your house mate.

Failing that, marry a gov employee

  7. Bully's Pub near Suk 4 always has a buffet, usually well reviewed....

And, last year, I ate at the Atrium Cafe at the Landmark Hotel between Sois 4 and 6, which is a great atmosphere, very good service and enormous selection. No skimping on anything, and continually well-stocked.

Last year, the Landmark was having a 40 or 50% off promotion if you used a Platinum visa card. So I think the original price of their Thanksgiving buffet was at or above 1000 baht per person, but ended up down around 600 baht that day after the discount, which was a very good deal.

Haven't checked yet on their pricing for this year, or if any related promotions are running.

JFC, you have a Platinum Visa??? Can I borrow it later this month? :o

  8. Thanks for that. The guy who told my friend is hard work at the best of times, so maybe it's her way of putting him off.

So when are you getting married Mosha? :D

:o Actually it's a good job I'm not superstitious. We have been married for over 5 years now. We married on friday 13th June.

Did you marry a Goverment employee? I only ask because you said you were married on a Friday and they don't work on Fridays correct?

Did you choose that date to prove your non-superstitious-ness-ess-ness, or didn't realise it until after all the invitations went out in the mail? :D

Manchester United players are fat due to a diet of beer and burgers, claims Gerard Pique

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has revealed that Manchester United's players are fat due to a poor diet of burgers and beer and that he could not understand a word manager Sir Alex Ferguson said.

Perhaps Mr Pique can ask Barca to follow the same regime as it seems to be a winning formula.

I just wonder why my midsection doesn't in any way resemble CR's? Afterall, we are on the same diet.

have you tried repeatedly throwing yourself dramatically to the floor when nobody is anywhere near you?

No, but I have tried missing penalties and dying my hair blonde. :o

  10. or this little news item from a week ago:

POLICE ARREST TWO BOMBING THREAT SENDERS

Police have arrested two men suspected of having sent threats by cellular text (SMS) messages to blow up vital facilities in Jakarta over Bali bombers' Amrozi et al's execution, a spokesman said.

The two men were nabbed at different locations -- one in Tanah Grogot, East Kalimantan, and the other in Cimandiri, Lebak, Banten, Com Gen Susno Duaji, chief of the National Police's criminal investigation department, said here Monday.

Don't get wrong, Bali is a lovely lovely place but not somewhere I would take my wife and unborn child when other 'less risky' alternatives are at hand. It's up to each individual to weigh the risks.

yup, and they've arrested a 13 year old kid too.

but not one was a real bomb.

    unlike thailand's south.

Right you are sir, but then again, I don't see many flights full of Australians landing in Pattani. :o

  11. i live in bali and i can tell you that the terrorism threat is not a major point of discussion with locals. they are quietly happy that the 3 bombers have been executed and do not talk about it a lot.

in fact, i personally think that its a very safe time to visit bali. the number of undercover police on the ground is phenomenal and you will find that many of the security guards are, in fact, police. most hotels have security checking vehicles with mirrors and dogs, and they also search the cars on the way in.

as for the question about bali being a cheaper alternative than thailand, i would say yes. petrol is .50 cents US a litre, food is cheap, and transportation is cheap. given that the current exchange rate is around 11,000Rp/USD) i think its pretty good value for money.

last night 3 of us went out for dinner in a lovely restaurant. we had drinks, and a lovely meal, and the cost was Rp 100,000 each. under USD10 per person.

    i say you should come!

Were the 3 bombers local? And why would locals want to continue to talk about it, it's bad for tourism.

Anyways, go if you want to because all the bombs i see going off in Thailand are definately killing two hundred tourists at a time. :o When was the last time tourist here was killed by a bomb?

Everyone's entitled to their own views, but for me, I have more faith in the Thai authorities over those that let things like Bali happen and that Marriot in Jakarta.

well the 3 bombers WERE indonesian, so i guess that may make them local.

why would locals NOT talk about it?

and, yes, we are all entitled to their views. thats what the forum is all about - sharing views and ideas. im not saying you are wrong and i am right - not at all.

Splitting hairs are we? ok, technically Indonesian yes but not locals from Bali whom I think would agree are 'different' in many ways compared to those found on the mainland.

Point 2, you mentioned that it is not a topic of discussion by the locals, not I?

For the other poster regarding the number of bombs, do you think the victims of both Bali Bombings care how many went off in the country before these ones did?

Btw, this was only last February...http://indonesiafirst.com/bomb-suspect-bali/ - doesn't mention if the targeted restaurant was frequented by locals or foreigners but if I had to guess...

  14. The convenience fee is for the convenience of using your Credit Card. The Bank charges them a percentage for clearing it into the bank account.

I only know this due to running a small business in the UK where I decided to start accepting Visa. I was only allowed to accept 50 pounds per transaction and the Bank would charge me 3% for using this service on each occasion. Needless to say, I dropped using this facility as my customers were less than pleased, however, nowadays it's normal practice everywhere and the real culprits are the Banks.

I agree with the OP on this one, if company's like Tiger (who don't really offer alternatives to booking online) wish to charge customers a fee for using a credit card (like it is a priviledge or something to fly with them) I will take my business elsewhere.

Merchant fees have been the norm for ever, part of the benefit as a retailer is that the money is guaranteed (compared to the old days of rubber cheques) and by offering the service, you get access to VISA / Mastercard/AMEX cardholders potentially.

Passing this back to the customer is wrong. If Tiger has problem with merchant fees, then either stop taking the card as acceptance or grind their bank for a better rate.

Tell me, what percentage of people who book online pay by credit card - all??? Then build in the cost and give a discount to cash payers of 3% as an incentive.

  15. What are you talking about ????????? I said that you cannot judge a Thai women just because she has a tatoo , some people are way to quick to judge comments on here, read it again.

You can if she's with a farang.

There are other social groups who get tattoos but not the type most farang would get.

    Mafia marks?
