Do TV Soundbars Help Hard of Hearing?
Short answer is No. A good quality sound bar adjusts the phasing to the speakers to cancel or reinforce to signal to give the impression of direction around a room. You will still require a physical speaker placed near you so not to upset others. I agree with what Carlyai says.

Seeking solace at Temple
In short No, It's not the Salvation Army. I stayed in a Temple for five days and from my experience it's hard. You need to speak Thai or have a Thai with you You have to adapt to temple life; Wear appropriate clothing (white or soft colours without logos), get up at 3am for prayers, after prayers you clean the temple, 7am breakfast, 8-12 meditation, 12 dinner, 1pm-4 meditation, 4 prayers, 7pm clean temple, then bed, sleeping on a rug on the floor. My girlfriend took me and although we slept in the same room, there is no touching, not even when passing a plate to her. I donated because I could as I am not destitute. As everyone was wearing the same I could not identidy if anyone was rich or poor. Having said all this, I'd jump at the opportunity to do this again. 5 days No Alcohol, no eating after midday, early nights and early starts, came out feeling cleansed inside and out.

Giving the lonely false hope
Not for me. 50/50 UK and Thailand. I have a house in the UK, never talk to neighbours, go to the pub twice a week (cannot afford £6/pint every day). Benefits: beautiful countryside and clean air. In Thailand, I have an apartment with pool, I pay one years rent. Every day I sit with my bar girl neighbours, chatting and them feeding me up, yes, feeding. Downstairs is a bar with old ex pats, a few ex bar owners who've lived in Pattaya over 30 years. Sometimes go to Ban Amphur beach where I rig a hammock and enjoy the weather, often go to Soi Buakhao for a Chang Yai.. Best of both worlds.

Why Do Some Foreigners in Thailand Still Call Other Foreigners “Farang” and is it Cringe?
To start, Farang is not a Thai word. It is a corruption of a French word. Second, Farang is easy to say and everyone understands the meaning whatever their language. Third, ExPats do use the word Farang, maybe it's only you that doesn't.

Wicker Man: True story providing accurate portrayal of Scottish People, today?
Responding to your click bait trying to antagnoise the Scottish people. The film was set in a remote Hebridean Island which, believe it or not, has cars and internet as does Scotland and is christrian. The film is a fictional piece of work depicting the villagers follow a Pagan Celtic religeon which carries out human sacrifice. Although this was documented by Julius Ceasar as "Celts burning people in wicker men" modern scolars question this claim.

A question about the SAS
A few years ago a visitor at Canterbury Tales was talking. I asked what did he do in the military? He rolled up his sleeve and had an SAS tattoo. He never returned.
