  1. I agree to use of proper mesh thickness and subsurface compaction, ie., 110%. Depending on the total surface area, grooves should be made in the surface to assist in minimizing any crack propagation caused by expansion and contraction of the concrete to prevent an uneven surface and minimize area to be repaired.
  2. 'No reason for the dropouts.' No reason for this story either.
  3. Artid might consider a second legal opinion before appealing. Courts uphold the law in general and in Thailand not bound by precedent. Unless the subject law was passed in violation of legislative process or otherwise ruled unconstitutional, the court will uphold the subject law, Artid's fine and suspended sentence will be upheld. But maybe Artid might consider the fine as the cost for national advertising for his Facebook site?
  4. Instead of watching for measles, what about vaccinating against measles?
  5. Critically not mentioned is specifically the number of covid-19 inpatients ill or dead who were not vaccinated. Saying there are 2 million unvaccinated seniors in Thailand doesn't add much creditability of the byline.
  6. "developing policies for the next ten years" Except where they run contrary to the Prayut NCPO's constitutional 20 year national strategy. This provision needs to be annulled, albeit through a constitutional amendment ... good luck with that. So there can only be hope of change but the current reality is government policy making opportunities are limited if nonexistent. Ask candidate Prayut if he supports amending or annulling the NCPO 20 year national strategy. I don't think his answer will reflect supporting progressive policy making that is needed for a more democratized government. The Deep State remains. Better to dream of unicorns.
  7. No. Usually 900 THB but this month 1k THB.
  8. Whatever the argument over Biden's lap top content, his defamation lawsuit and FBI investigation of federal law violations (especially with regard to illegal interstate transfer of Biden's personal data on the lap top) should clarify what is fact, what is criminal and what is false conspiracy. This case has the makings of another Dominion defamation case once depositions and subpoenas are carried out for information from parties allegedly complicit in the theft and data distribution.
  9. "like the 90-day report" I don't see the comparison to what tourists must report.
  10. The virus does not morph into the flu but mutates like the flu. But it seems unlike the flu mutations that occur generally on an annual period the covid subvariants seem to appear in a much shorter time. Latest Omicron subvariant is now at XBB.1.5 in some developed countries like the US. It is more infectionous but effects are much the same.
  11. So "Do Not Pass Go, To Jail" not an option for the coup leader, who's not the PM but is the PM? That's a comeback some people might like to see that would justify a vote for a new leader.
  12. With air quality forecast today in Bangkok at 151 (unhealthy), not the same as any place in the world. Beijing 91 Seoul 55 Paris 33 Los Angeles 44
  13. More than 2,000 police officers deployed to protect him from a small group of protesters: "8 years, no future, get out" and "Loong Too, borrow, borrow, borrow." Protesters were not allowed to enter the fair ground where Prayut appeared.
  14. Not an African nation that the EC chose to visit to assure Thai absentee ballot votes get counted in the next election.
  15. From personal and unscientific perspective, I find that Bangkok Metropoliton Area is itself 30-40% more expensive across the board than the southern parts of the province, ie. Bang Khun Thian, Bang Bon, Bang Khae. Perhaps explained in part by very few expats and lesser demand for foreign products..
  16. Smart move by Prayut just before an election. He supervises DSI in addition to the RTP.
  17. BRIC includes Russia, China and India.

  19. Just a technical note. Not all Muslims in Thailand are "Muslim Thais." There are about 2 million (est. 2020) in Thailand's three southern provinces formerly known collectively as the Kingdom of Patani who are "Malay Muslims". The Kingdom of Siam (now the Kingdom of Thailand) that forceably annexed the KOP refer to them as Muslim "Thais" as part of a denial and rechacterization of their indigenious ethnicity, traditions and culture.
  20. Likely violate the Personal Data Act if published without permission.
  21. Climate change denier? "Thailand is expected to be severely affected by validate change, with its vulnerability shaped by geographical and socioeconomic features. The German Watch Global Climate Rusk Index 2021 ranked Thailand's long-term Climate risk index as 9th in the world." ref. www,fao.org "Thailand has seen a marked increase in temperatures and changes in rainfall patterns over the past thirty years." ref. climateknowledgeportal.workdbank.org "The impact of climate change to Thailand; such as higher surface temperatures, floods, droughts, severe storms and sea level rise, is more likely to put Thaikand's food production at risk, especially rice productions." ref. "Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources: Key challenges to Thailand CC* adaptation," by Sudtida Pliankarom Thanasupsin, Environment Project Group, Office of Project Management, RID * Climate Change (CC)
  22. The seemingly high number of Thai women involved in the sex industry in Thailand seems to dismiss any reluctantance of their independence from men other than as paying "partners." And as already noted, many more Thai women than than men, especially in the low income and educational brackets, appear to try to self-start their own, albeit barely capitalized small businesses, to survive without "sugar daddies."
  23. Note: "Despite risk of death, Thailand sends Myanmar refugees back" April 8, 2022 https://apnews.com/article "Mostly" is not very satisfying regarding a refugee's safety.
