exactly..why on earth would any parent pick Pattaya for their children anyway?? for the dirty beaches to play on and disgusting ocean to swim in? as much as I dislike India(just its filthy cities), I would rather take my kids to an Indian beach resort or one of the thousands of beach resorts around the globe than the filthy ones in filthy pattaya

too much more can be said on this topic but I should stop here since I left Thailand a while ago and now living in the Philippines/the actual "Land of Smiles" and very happy to live among people who are MUCH friendlier, easy to communicate with and where life is less expensive in general. The women are sweet,friendly, romantic and one can actually have long conversations with them. On a final note, they love to sing in your ear any song between 1950s and 2019 IN ENGLISH and they are perfect with the lyrics. These are things Thailand lacked during my entire stay and I was not even aware of it.

You can't believe the amount of 9s and 10s in those clubs. many are mixed filipino-american beauties. I agree that Thai have their own beauties but language barrier kills everything for me. maybe I'm just tired of dealing with prostitutes only interested in my pocket.
I did have my fun years in pats and bkk before the coup but things went downhill after 2014

Maybe the $hit finally hit the fan and visitors/farangs finally realized this and decided they ain't coming back.

as far as the thai authorities, Pattaya is a man-made location like Disneyland for only financial gain with no cultural, religious or historical importance. Even Thais treat the city like so.It doesn't surprise me why cops don't care as there isn't much love or respect or sense of belonging to the area by no one.
Without the whores, an average foreigner would not stay in pats more than a New York minute
What was once a fisherman's village with whores, now the fish and the fishermen are long gone but whores stayed and multiplied

I honestly don't understand the reason for the interest in Pattaya for ANY tourist from ANY country. I really don't.
It's a mess of a city with dirty beaches and the sea water quality is a notch above a sewer.
