  1. Last year in June, TAT was projecting 7 to 10 million international tourists for 2022. I, myself, thought at the time that even 7 million was a big stretch. Later in the year, with more data, that 7 to 10 million was revised up by TAT to around 10 million. December 19th, TAT was projecting more than 11 million. The final figure for 2022 international visitors was 11.15 million. Pretty darn close.
  2. If they don't they certainly should--and be kept in working order.
  3. Expedite translation: Accelerate to glacial pace.
  4. This is the Thai version of US mayors being voted out of office due to the perception of not handling a big snow storm well. Let's hope it does contribute to him losing badly.
  5. My partner and I have lived in at least a dozen different condo projects in Pattaya, plus 1 in Rayong and 2 in Bangkok. We've never had a problem with slippery bath tile. Had there been slippery tile, we just would have put down a bath mat made for that purpose--problem easily solved. Would that everything was that simple.
  6. Not my favorite but lightyears better than the lunatics Trump and DeSantis.
  7. The other political parties are probably kicking themselves for not thinking of this. USA had several money payments during covid.
  8. Less than the West.
  9. Total waste of time when the police could be deployed much more usefully. Just a dumb publicity stunt--must have been totally embarrassing when they came up empty. Oh, wait, I don't think they are capable of embarrassment.
  10. Handling luggage is the job of a bellboy, not a trained policeman--that's what's 'wrong'. I suppose next they will be parking tourists' cars with car valet services. What I find strange is the police commander needing to form a committee to study the duties of the tourist police--the clear responsibilities and duties should have been in place from the get-go.
  11. And, let's amend that to illegal hotel for Thailand if the stays are less than 30 days.
  12. Thank goodness my partner and I are in Thailand. I remember some time ago when we lived at one of the View Talays and we absentmindedly got off on the wrong floor and just as absentmindedly opened what we thought was our condo door--which was unlocked. Luckily, the resident laughed it off and we were not both shot dead. We also escaped certain death by not being in America when my partner accidently opened the wrong car door to an identical car that was parked next to us. Phew!
  13. Q Asoke condominium--no 'House'. Likely the security was as good as most condo projects. Even the best security is not going to stop a resident from letting someone into their condo. Or, prevent someone who has a key from getting into a condo.
  14. Prayut--conscripted soldiers can benefit from opportunities .. . .galore for graft and corruption.
  15. In 2019, Chinese visitors spent over 500 billion baht in Thailand. Not exactly 'no money' and likely why Thailand gets 'hot and bothered'.
  16. There are plenty. But, as others have said, they are likely not always--or ever--in the places where you are hanging out.
  17. Yes, I understand why they took it, too. A bird in the hand. . . At least it's still a big black eye for Fox.
  18. Pity they settled--and for such a piddly amount--the equivalent of loose change in Murdoch's sofa cushions. I was looking forward to the lying jerks having to testify under oath.
