Last year in June, TAT was projecting 7 to 10 million international tourists for 2022. I, myself, thought at the time that even 7 million was a big stretch. Later in the year, with more data, that 7 to 10 million was revised up by TAT to around 10 million. December 19th, TAT was projecting more than 11 million. The final figure for 2022 international visitors was 11.15 million. Pretty darn close.

Thank goodness my partner and I are in Thailand. I remember some time ago when we lived at one of the View Talays and we absentmindedly got off on the wrong floor and just as absentmindedly opened what we thought was our condo door--which was unlocked. Luckily, the resident laughed it off and we were not both shot dead. We also escaped certain death by not being in America when my partner accidently opened the wrong car door to an identical car that was parked next to us. Phew!
