  1. There isn't much choice for budget newish 2 door cars here. The civic has been a 4 door for a long time. The last 2 door civic was about year 1999-2000. The new civic turbo / hybrid is fast enough for Thai roads. My wife just got a city turbo and it goes well (much better than our previous swift), and much bigger inside. It can be remapped and run 0-100 under 7 seconds. We won't be doing that though.
  2. Some garages do swaps on the swift by putting in the swift sport engine in it.
  3. remap a diesel mazda 2+ full exhaust and tune. its good for 130-140hp.
  4. You can't just kill someone in Thailand that enters (unarmed), into your property. There is no "srand your ground" law here. This is the law. Deadly force could be used if the intruder was armed with a gun.
  5. Most qualified teachers here now are non-native speakers. The native speakers where either grapdfatherered (for the full teaching licence), got qualified, left the country, or found some other way to get a work permit. 5% of the teachers in my school are native speakers (all qualified except 1), and most work in the upper high school. 20 years ago it was close to 100%. Plenty of trash teachers have come and gone...mostly native speakers employed through an agency. Note this is a private school and we really do not have the problems that plague the OP's school and many other schools here. Certainly there are few discipline problems and my work submission is close to 100% and on time. There are better schools out there...
  6. Evolution is a fact. But there are theories of how evolution takes place.
  7. I hate driving in OZ every time I go back. Just use my Thai licence to drive there. Hate having to watch the speedo constantly lol. No plan to live back there. OZ licence expired so would have to retest. No thanks.
  8. That's because, as far as I'm aware, foreigners are not allowed to own guns in Thailand.
  9. Did you consider getting a glass/ceramic coating done? I did that to both of our cars. One is 4 years old and it helps protect the paint from minor scratches. The wildtrax is big and shouldbe rewaxed every 2 months or so. The ceramic coat we have is redone every 6 months. Before, I've used megairs products and they are good. They should have a booth at the Motor Expo that is on now.
  10. The 1million+ unlicenced (mostly riders) breathe a collective sigh of relief! Can't lose points if ya got no licence!
  11. Well its not a "major crime" but certainly any car will be pulled over immediaately and the driver fined in most western countries.
  12. I've seen police cars with no number plates...don't expect action anytime this century! This is the Wild West.
  13. Yes they sell a 3.0 v6 here If budget and fuel consumption is of no concern, it's a good choice. Otherwise the wildtrak will do just fine in most situations.
  14. Natural tone hair colour? One of my ex-students as a medical intern in a hospital had to dye her hair darker as the natural tone was not dark enough (but apparently ok for the doctors to have dyed hair). Seems we still live in the dark ages.
  15. Conveniently ignoring the fact that most of these unvaccinated are either elderly/immunocompromised. The vast majority of children are unvaccinated and should not be vaccinated. Also, continual mask wearing is not allowing the population to develop natural immunity through exposure to pthogens. Expect the flu and other infections to increase due to this, as we are seeing in the US at the moment.
  16. That's their problem then, and probably explains the number of pick-pocketers in London then. Thais are also supposed to carry their Thai national ID at all times.
  17. The actually drilling into the bone is quite painless and quite fast. I have had 2 done. There may be some discomfort after the operation, as the gum needs to be stiched and the stiches removed later. I'd much rather that this over a root canal (of which I'd had some also).
  18. Unrealistic sentences...no doubt copying the US system. Nothing strictly Thai about it.
  19. You speak like an antivaxxer....so what are the esteemed websites you reach out for your legit information? Post them here (no mainstream sites allowed). Let us decide.
  20. Try a suzuki swift if you just want to get around town with no fuss. Well maintained, the engine / drivetin lasts well over 250-300K kms. We jsut sold ours at 114k kms. We only changed the tires / battery / front brake pads / shocks (consumables) and air cond evaporator. Reliable and quite cheap to run. My wifes long term average fuel consumption (meter hadnt been reset for many 1000's kms) was 18.2km/l
  21. It's not 122NM actually. It's 173NM (about the same as the old 1.8 civic engine). My wife just got the city hatchback. It goes pretty well though I haven't pushed it at all. It surges forward suddenly it one is harsh with the accelerator. We had a swift 1.2 before and it destroys the swift in acceleration. Not too worried about longevity of the engine. It will barely do 7K kms between 6 month services anyway.
  22. Very few are dying from covid now. Those in hospital dying are dying "with covid". As a medical emergency, it is over. It should be allowed to run its course. Resistance is futile. Perhaps China is banking on omicron and its variants eventualyl disappearing.
  23. But they do need to get over it. And getting exposed to the virus is the only way to do it. Vaccination is only partially effective in this regard. They will eventually follow Taiwan.
