  1. Doc Check Chicks is the name of my new band.
  2. My online 90 day report was rejected for being a "first time" 90 day report - even though it isn't my first 90 report. It's the first one with my current passport, my current non-O, and the current online system....but definitely not my first 90 day report. So I'll be mailing mine to the address quoted above.
  3. The US embassy/consulate does not do income verification letters. If you want to switch to the income method, you'll need to provide proof of 12 consecutive monthly international transfers exceeding 65K THB each month (not averaged.)
  4. In KL (and most places, really), I've always just used my home country ATM card to withdraw local currency from an ATM. My bank reimburses any ATM fees so if yours doesn't, that may change the equation. I also try to pay with credit cards wherever possible - you get the interbank rate (about the best exchange rate available), provided one has credit cards that don't charge foreign transaction fees.
  5. Anyone know if this is still the mailing address for sending the 90 day report via the postal service? Notify 90 DaysChiangmai Immigration71 Moo 3 Sanambin RoadT. Suthep A. MuangChiang Mai50200 That's the address copied/pasted from the pinned topic but it's from six years ago so I ask to verify. Thanks.
  6. Probably refers to this: "The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) is advising the public to exercise caution when charging their smartphones in public after a Thai man’s Android phone was hacked at the weekend. The CIB believe hackers have found a way of altering charging cables to steal personal information from phone users." https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/crime/android-users-urged-not-to-charge-phones-in-public-in-case-they-get-hacked
  7. Yes. I received the email telling me it was successfully submitted but no approval email yet. When I log into my account, it's there, listed as "pending".
  8. Good luck. I submitted mine online Saturday morning, received the "successful" email....still "pending" in the system.
  9. Interesting. I submitted my 90 day report online last Saturday morning, still pending.
  10. Or you could just book a (much nicer) private car in advance for 1599 THB: https://limousine.in.th/Pattaya-auto.php
  11. Each time you leave and re-enter Thailand in the first year of the visa, you are stamped in for one year. By leaving the country (and then re-entering) a couple of days prior to the expiration of the visa (the end of the first year), you'd be stamped in with permission to stay for the second year.
  12. PSA for those who might be interested: just received an email from Prikpot - 10g of OG Kush for THB 2459. Advertised as 18-20% THC, IIRC.
  13. "The bivalent COVID-19 vaccines include a component of the original virus strain to provide broad protection against COVID-19 and a component of the omicron variant to provide better protection against COVID-19 caused by the omicron variant. " https://www.fda.gov/emergency-preparedness-and-response/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/covid-19-bivalent-vaccine-boosters
  14. "Who is the loneliest monk?" - MTV VJ Tabitha Soren, 1992
  15. While Paxlovid isn't available here, another anti-viral, molnupiravir, is available (or so I've read.) Does anyone know how one would obtain that, if it were required? Presumably it requires a prescription and one imagines the hospitals would prefer you don't show up in person with active COVID. Or am I overthinking this? Just go to the hospital with a mask on and ask to see a doctor for a prescription?
  16. Also had a recent positive experience at BRIA lab. Relatively inexpensive and results emailed about 36 hours later.
  17. Let me get back to you, I'm having lunch right now.
  18. Open the Grab app, click on "transport" at the top. On that page, in the "where to" box at the top it says "Now" at the far right. Click that, it's a drop down menu that will allow you to schedule in advance.
  19. Bolt and inDrive are cash only in Thailand, AFAIK. You can add (some) credit cards to a GRAB account.
  20. At Superrich, you'll convert GBP to THB then THB to USD. Two transactions.
  21. "But if you could somehow add gold and silver to your investment profile, it might be possible to hedge against these fluctuations. Fortunately, this can be done through Lexi Capital. By allowing you to invest in physical silver and gold, your IRA is buffered from geopolitical crisis, inflation and other uncontrollable scenarios." lexicapital.com/our-story/ ????????
  22. That's what I used to think..... https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/cities/thailand
  23. Also in Chiang Mai and Bangkok. We use it in CM often. Odd that they would be in CM, BKK, and Phuket but not in Pattaya....then again, there are so many local fiefdoms in Thailand, who knows.
  24. inDrive, perhaps?
