These paltry fines won't be a deterrent to anyone.
1,000 or even 400 Baht may well be paltry to you and I but for those toiling long hours for just a few hundred Baht a day they most certainly are not.
The problem with the fines is not the amount but rather that the lack of enforcement and dismal collection rates has removed any deterrent effect. If there really was a strict crackdown it would, IMHO, result in a fairly swift change in behaviour for many.

"In recent years 40,000 motorcyclists have been prosecuted since 2018 and fined 44 million baht for sidewalk parking and riding offences."
I wonder how much of that 44 million Baht they've bothered to collect.........

Some good ones there.
The Sopranos is a strange omission.
I don't think I saw it on the list at all.
Out of scope rather than omitted, Sopranos started in 1999, it seems that they were looking at shows that first aired in 2000 or later.

I think it is a good thing that teenagers in Thailand are allowed to expand their personal sovereignty and take some responsibility at this age. Where was I at 14 ? In the hellish suburbs waiting for my parents to drive me around if I wanted to go anywhere. Only in my wildest dreams could I be cruising in the open air to my friends place on a motorcycle at 14.
It was not an accident by any stretch of the imagination. It was predictable, preventable and the family, police and government are culpable.

Is this the one that came out in May--Looking good dead ? because I can not find a season 2 , just 2 episodes from season 1 .....in March & May.
I agree with you--good series, if I am missing a new one like to find it.
Yes, just the two episodes so far from season 1 - but episode 2 is yet to be broadcast in the UK, I understand.

Agree with that, Bolan went far too early.

I enjoyed the first episode of Grace a few months ago and have been awaiting episode 2. While it's not yet been broadcast in the UK, it has been released on Britbox and I see that it is now on Lime.
"Written by the critically-acclaimed screenwriter Russell Lewis, this adaptation of the bestseller by Peter James stars John Simm and follows the Brighton-based Detective Roy Grace, who has hit rock bottom in his life. His wife Sandy disappeared six years ago, and Roy spends all his time investigating cold cases. Meanwhile, his different ways of working are being questioned by his bosses, risking his job. However, things look set to change when his colleague Detective Glenn Branson asks for his help on a difficult case."

Don't recall seeing S2 of See mentioned, sorry if I missed it.
"In a future where humankind has lost the ability to see and is forced to interact in new ways, a set of twins with sight is born, challenging the status quo."
S1 scores an decent 7.6 on IMDb.

I like the look of this one that kicks off in November:
"The wait is almost over for season four of the ranching drama Yellowstone, but there will be even more to look forward to this fall as Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan also has a new show debuting on the streaming service Paramount+, and it looks poised to bring the same type of gripping drama, albeit in an entirely new setting.
Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family – power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither."

Season 3 of Britannia appeared today.
Nothing like a bit of a Roman orgy and killing the Brits.
Really enjoyable show with a great soundtrack from the much underestimated and often overlooked (IMHO) Donovan.

Me and my then wife would cut a night out short to get home in time for HSB , I think it was on late Friday evenings.
Hard to believe it was 40 years ago.
The whole thing is on fmovies if I want to watch it but, like you say, probably better to keep it in the memory banks , after all it will only remind me of my 1st wife !! ????
& @thaibeachlovers don't worry about that, the great characters, acting and writing throughout this show leaves it still very watchable to this day and beyond imho.

I feel that banks will be happy to own a concrete asset which they can just sit on for time, and not just lose their loans to bankrupt individuals. I've known companies (eg Polly Peck) who invested in a shipping company who h went belly up, and ended up owning ships, then employing a ship management company to try to run them. It's called making the best best of a bad job. After a few years the did sell them though. At least at the end of the day you have a physical asset worth cents on the dollar, rather than zip. ????
Polly Peck? That didn't end well, run by crooks and ended up £1.3bn in debt.

I recall back in 2010 when they said there was going to be a shortage of eggs and I saw old ladies with shopping carts full of eggs at Carrefour (now Big C). They panic, they buy everything they can lay their hands on. When the wholesale price is up to a position which is deemed acceptable by producers they will smile all the way to the bank & the scare will blow over.
Well I've just gone out the back and checked on the egg situation and my ducks told me in no uncertain terms that they'll just keep on laying one a day and there's no way they'll up their production to let me hoard (not that I would want to as they're best fresh).

This is the best news for a long time. Not just because it seems the production line is rolling now, but because AZ is actually talking after weeks of silence. Ok, they probably need a lot more than 10m per month, but it's a great start.
I've no axe to grind here but FYI I was checking some facts on AZ in Thailand the other day and came across a few updates on the AZ Thailand website, they shouldn't be blamed if news outlets choose not to report it, "weeks of silence" is not correct.

Where's the vax? That's what we really need. About 45% of the US is now vaccinated, and so everywhere's reopening. Amazing considering how at one time we had the highest rate of infections.
These small, occasional shipments from China are ridiculous. Why can't larger supplies be secured, from other sources? Why can't the manufacturing be done here?

i've said it a million times. falangs, get rid of your motorbike NOW!!! OK, it's the other person's fault!!! you are dead.
ok, saved your life. send me money.
I'm in my 60's. I started riding and joined a Motorcycle Club in the 70's, I still ride every day and have no intention of giving up any time soon. Thanks for the patronising anyway.
BTW, I'm not and I assume you're not "back home". I'm simply "at home" here.

Not a fan of American style wafer thin cuts. I haven't found any deli's around these parts, either. There's nothing wrong with good canned corned beef in a nice spicy hash, if calling it dog food makes you feel good then fine, if it was a feeble attempt at self-aggrandisement, I think Shania Twain has the answer.

Last week we went to the nearest small town to buy some duck food from a shop that was closed a few weeks ago because some of the family had Covid. The cocky young gob<deleted>e who "served" us stood just outside our car, maskless, talking to my wife through the open window. I was getting a bit angry about his selfishness and told him to pull his mask up, he did and laughed at being asked to, so I quite sternly told him "not funny" in Thai at which point he lost his smirk. There is a very high level of mask compliance around here but, as they say, there's always one.
