  1. Only farangs, when leaving the University injection site on Monday the Thai's were lining up for Sinovac 1st dose and AZ 2nd dose as per the big signage displays, the previous Pfizer signage boards were taken down. Would love to get the wife a shot of Pfizer but I read somewhere, next month it's going to school kids ?
  2. Not sure if the KK one will cancel out within 24 hours if they don't hear from you, so it would be best call them to advise them that your out, that way they can fit someone else in, it's only the right thing to do in this pandemic as everyone is desperate to get a shot.
  3. Also Monday was the 1st day, all done through the Provincial Health Office, might be worth enquiring if they have anymore dates available, and whether your appointment dates are concrete with Bangkok Hospital for KK because I have an appoitnment for 12/9 but no confirmation email. I was one of the farangs who got my 1st dose of Pfizer on Monday at Udon Thani, found out via a text message from a mate who lives that way. I am also registered with Expatvac since 1/8, with zero communication, suffice to say the organisational skills are lacking to say the least from both sites.
  4. Your probably aware by now that the Provincial Health Office in Udon Thani has provided 1st dose of Pfizer for those of us that registered at their office, i.e. I registered on site at their office on Sunday and was provided with the 1st dose of Pfizer the next day at a University and those who registered on Monday got theirs on Wednesday I believe. This was done through word of mouth as far as I am aware, so Expatvac is useless IMO as it appears to have changed the game sending vaccines to provinces before those having registered on Expatvac had a chance to know what the f was going on. Might be worth making enquiries with the Provincial Health Office to see if they anymore vaccination dated for Pfizer, beats waiting for Expatvac as I also registered with them on the 1st August and have heard squat, but got my vaccine through the above office through word of mouth as mentioned, go figure, amazing Thailand, the horse has bolted before the gates were opened.
  5. Can I suggest you use a different source to get your information, for unbiased straight to the point info, I choose to watch Dr ZDogg, he's also cool.
  6. The Pfizer vaccine which is all around the world is now approved, if your talking because of it's official name change, then your barking up the wrong tree, a stick is a stick is a stick, like a rock is a rock is a rock. Stop being so pedantic and wasting my time, Pfizer's vaccine that has been is use under emergency use authorisation, is now formally approved, get it ? https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-approves-first-covid-19-vaccine
  7. Your a little behind the times, Pfizer is now an approved vaccine, others will follow as the data comes in, very soon. On August 23, 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that it had approved the Pfizer-BioNTech (Pfizer) COVID-19 vaccine. This vaccine will be marketed as Comirnaty and is fully approved to prevent coronavirus disease in people 16 years of age and older.1 day ago
  8. I received my 1st Pfizer dose 23/8, the 2nd will be on the 13/9. I have also paid for Moderna for October but will put that back to March-May 2022 as a booster, i.e. 6-8 months after my 2nd Pfizer jab, that said, but not before more info comes available on time between boosters.
  9. Yes wife is a Hilton Honors Member and receives points when we stay. The double points is tempting, but it takes 2 to Tango as the old saying goes.
  10. Same here, Bangkok Hospital KK and Expatvac and still haven't heard anything, in fact I think I won't hear a thing, if I do, will just let the email lapse as I heard if you don't respond within 24 hours they cancel your appointment. Take a walk or a drive to the local Provincial Health Office in Udon Thani and make some enquiries, I don't know if they are still taking registrations for Pfizer although the text I got said they were taking them on Sunday and Monday that just passed and the vaccines administered on Monday for those who registered on Sunday and Wednesday for those who registered on Monday at a University, can't remember the name, started off like raj something or rather, it's on the road where they have a plane out the front of an airbase. It's worth a try, you can ask at the box when entering the carpark, I walked to the left of it and all the way to the end, was a witch hat with a sign saying Pfizer and then a sign on the wall with an arrow to turn right at the very end. If you do go and get registered, do let us know and perhaps make a post to let others know in the Isaan forum so as to help out others. Don't know if reading any of the comments on this forum might help, but worth a read. https://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/viewtopic.php?f=139&p=624891
  11. Plus it pays so well that I own a house worth 60 million baht and 29 luxury motor vehicles. His story is almost as believable as some truck driver saying his brakes failed....LOL Life in prison is a good suggestion, I would prefer that someone do to him as he had done to the deceased, case closed.
  12. I haven't heard Pfizer arriving from any orders that the Thai government have made. If your insinuating that it wasn't Pfizer and they substituted it for something else, anything's possible in Thailand I know, and I did note that Thai's were lining up for their Sinovac and AZ shots as we were leaving. The above said, if they did substitute it with anything else, they wouldn't be asking us to return in 3 weeks, which is when you have to have your 2nd Pfizer dose. Maybe it was water....whatever ????
  13. Still waiting in Udon Thani for a response. The above said if it wasn't for a mate texting me that the Provincial Health Clinic was taking registrations at the beginning of the week, I would still be waiting, suffice to say I got my 1st dose of Pfizer on Monday thanks to the USA for their donation, as I wouldn't know who to thank in Thailand because no one was beating the drums to let me know. Must be many more still waiting for Expatvac which I think is a flop unless your in the big City or surrounding areas.
  14. Why isn't he wearing those nice shiny bracelets, says a lot, boys think tank, looking to concoct a story for a way out whilst waiting for lunch perhaps. Well, they don't have to be shinny you know.
  15. During Covid, cannot do ATM, and that is a major deal breaker, that and the wife not wanting to go due to Covid, oh well, guess it's Perisher Valley come July next, hopefully with Australia allowing access back in for a much needed holiday.
  16. Stayed at the newly renovated Hilton, great place and want to go back, however pool is not open for the kids which is a downer, highly recommend otherwise and around 4,000 baht a night ATM with breakfast and taxes.
  17. I have been trying to convince mine to go to Hua Hin, but won't have a bar of it, it's not the quarantine that worries her as we are home all the time, its that 5 letter word starting with C.
  18. What's that old saying, waste not want not, suffice to say, I totally agree with what you are saying, however as I have paid for Moderna well in advance before the USA provided us with the Pfizer which I am grateful for, Moderna will become a booster for me, i.e. if the evidence at the time suggests it is warranted, otherwise I will sell it to a family member who won't take Sinovac or AZ, yes we have some Hi So village people here too, it's not just farangs ????
  19. Death the same way he caused the death to the two girls, he should be handcuffed and each parent allowed to do the honours, revenge being bitter sweet. Let him fear for his life as the innocent girls did.
  20. Same here, also have paid for Moderna back in June for October, which I will push back 6-8 months as a booster for next year. For those who haven't planned that far ahead, might be a good idea as I am pretty sure we will all require a booster in 2022, and the way this government has handled things, I won't be relying on them thank you very much as it was the USA that came to the rescue with the Pfizer donation of 150,000 for us expats.
  21. I think there is more to the story than we are being told, e.g. for this senior cop to hold such a position means he bought his way to the top, as he did all the cars and the luxury house on a 43,000 baht salary. What I am saying is that he was the Tony Montana of Nakhon Sawan and would take out anyone who tried to dip their toes into his waters so to speak. My sister-in-laws boyfriend was dealing small time in yaba, maybe 6-12 pills to some of the locals in the village, local cops set him up with a large stash and he is now doing 10 years, he didn't know he was dealing in their territory, words from their mouths and being too poor to educated to try and fight the charge, he sits in a crowded sell, now 3 years and hasn't seen his son who was born a month after he was inside.
  22. If the cost of health insurance is going to be a financial burden to you as it increases every 5 years, if not annually, set aside 3,000,000 baht as funds for yourself for any health insurance requirements, if you can't do that or afford health insurance, you really shouldn't be here IMO, i.e. unless you are prepared to be treated in a government public hospital. Get your marriage visa then annual extensions and worry about it when the time comes as I do believe there are agents who can for a price sort out any insurance requirements if need be for an annual extension, if required. We are all ticking time bombs, I had my heart attack when I was in my late 40's back in the home country, i.e. I ended up here 7 years later, it was a 10 year plan, I retired at 55 and am now in my 60's, I could kick the bucket tomorrow, but do I worry, no, do I have everything in order in case I need care, yes it's called a wife 20 years my junior, private health cover, and life insurance, if the wife does go before me which I hope is not the case, I will assess the situation then, i.e. we can't plan for everything, so plan for what you can and either adapt to the change when it happens. Extensions aren't really an issue if your organised enough with your paperwork, and like I said, agents sort things out for a price and immigration officer welcome them because they get a slice of the pie. Not planning my end of life stage, if my wife does go before me, I have enough money in the bank to return home and get the pension in a few years and put my deposit down to a nursing home and they also get 85% of the pension to look after me, that would have to be the last hurdle, e.g. I couldn't look after myself, otherwise I would stay in Thailand and continue enjoying the life left in me. We are born to die, it's inevitable, so why worry about it, grab life and enjoy as much of it as you can, I have lived more than most, had my more than fair share of travel, women, fast cars, bikes, etc and if I dropped tomorrow, well selavee, it's going to happen, the later the better because I still have a lot of gas in this tank.
