Yes I'm afraid thanks to Thai Red Cross using their muscle at the last minute to push the government to take 1.1 million doses of the intended private hospitals 5 million order of Moderna, means 1.1 million of those doses will mean people will be pushed back. I don't know how that will work, e.g. 1st in, last in is put to the next batch, that said if one hasn't registered on the Expatsvac line for the Pfizer as a backup, then I would strongly suggest one does, that is what I have done regardless that I have paid for the Moderna, so the way I figure it is if I get this mRNA shot, and the 2nd, I will push back Moderna to a later date in 2022 as a booster. It's anything foes in Thailand......

Having had a blood clot in 2008, and all the talk about blood clots/deaths with AZ from where I stood in hindsight, was the right choice and if Covid comes knocking on my door then we will greet him or her with open arms, then commence the fight. No tin foiled caps here mate, although I did mention, I'm special.

Don't know about you, but I'm special, I have knocked back AZ and Sinovac, if I don't get Pfizer, I will wait for Moderna that I have paid for, no one is going to tell me what they want to give me, it's as simple as that, we all have choices, so suck it up, at least I stand my ground !

I too had an appointment for the AZ on 7 June but decided not to get it due to all the noise about blood clots and deaths. Not long after I booked and paid for Moderna for October and on 1 August registered on expatvac and as I am over 60 with one of the underlying conditions, I am hopeful of getting the Pfizer jab suffice to say in hindsight it might be an omen and if I do, I will ask for the Moderna shot to be put back to next year as a booster when I know when my 2nd jab of the Pfizer will be due. With regard to AZ, I hear it is pretty good, even better when you get your 2nd jab, and as I had a clot back in 2008, didn't want to go down that path again as it almost cost me my life, not saying that it could happen again, but when there's talk about clots, I will take the exit thanks. Fingers crossed it all comes good and we can all move forward, I am even looking into the future, i.e. as mentioned with Moderna as being the booster as I have paid for it, suggest you look at something as well, even if you have to pay for it, because this experience has just been a total fark up IMO.

I say it's also advisable to provide your partner with a blindfold and ear plugs as well because they say it can spread through the eyes and ears as well as the mouth and nose, therefore its better to take extra precautions, isn't that right honey.

If one looks at graphs around the world, it typically takes off for a couple of months and then takes a nose dive. We can only hope that that is the case here, so lets continue to hope, say beginning September on the downward move.

In situations like this, it's always best to negotiate it as it's a small amount and not worth the future hassle of going up with the Thai law system, e.g. lawyer costs etc......moving along is always best and putting it behind you, regardless who you think is at fault. In other words, you should thing of the future hassle, even if you won in court, the time spent would be better served on a bar stool watching the pretties.

Yes, however this trip will be for the kids who haven't seen the snow. My days of skiing would be over, don't think the knees, let alone thighs and calve muscles would take it, as keen as I would be, I remember doing black diamond runs with mates from the moment they opened the chair lifts, till they closed them as the sun was going down, then have a shower, eat and go out on the front valley with the big bright lights and machines creating powder for those of us stupid enough, talk about exhausting times. I would be content catching the snow tube up to the valley and parking myself and the kids in the big pub, grabbing a kebab and a few cold ones, as expensive as they would be, including the trip, but it's a once in a lifetime for them before dad goes skiing higher up when the time comes, so it would be one of many more memories for them.
