Netflix’s password sharing restriction has come to Thailand
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in IT and Computers
As of today, no changes for us. But I'm fully expecting to, and am prepared to, have to pay +99 baht/mo. There are some hacks, but it's probably not worth the effort. -
If an on-line 90 day report filing is Rejected, and it is possible to determine that the reason (is that detail covered in the rejection email?) is that your TM30 needs to be "updated", and you decide to update your TM 30 with a new filing on-line (web or app) can anyone advise... what check-in date do you use? today? (that may be the only option I think) what arrival date date do you use? original, potentailly years old date? if so, do you use the TM6 which you have? Or do you use "today"? you use your current permission to stay date I assume. if using the mobile app/Sec 38, which visa type is used for a current 1 year ext stay on a Non-Imm O visa? Non-O-X?

Prospective PM Pita clears a hurdle… next the parliamentary vote
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Resign from what exactly? The Electoral Commission (EC) has decided to pursue a criminal case against Pita. Assuming he could resign that won't mean that he is no longer subject to criminal charges. Sorry but no, he did not create this fiasco. The enemies of change created this fiasco, just as they attempted in 2001 on Thaksin Shinawatra. He only survived by an 8-7 vote, in part because the court was worried about his electoral mandate, which was much, much larger than MVF's. -
His greatest ability seems to be "being seen" getting about the city and meeting with individuals. That's a plus. He can't really get anything done though. Just not a lot of power. Be nice if he could resolve the BTS Green Line issue, the BMA owes the BTS ~ 50 Billion baht. IMO no Bangkok Governor should run or take office without a plan to deal with this issue. And that sort of debt will only increase as more lines open, and fares remain too low. The national government needs to subsidize public transport.

Prospective PM Pita clears a hurdle… next the parliamentary vote
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Just the second of an endless supply of hurdles. He's toast. He'll have to flee the country in order to avoid prison. There is no way whatsoever that the Powers that Be will allow him to form a government. The reforms to the Institution, while appealing to the majority of the population, is a bridge too far. Any such talk needs to be put down with extreme prejudice. I am curious if Prayuth's time as "caretaker" PM counts against his eight-year term limit? My guess would be "no", at least as interpreted by the "courts". -
I also buy from thainexusman, and have for quite a few years. Looks like he has nine (9) units (7 Pro) left. https://www.thainexusman.com/en/product/1246/google-pixel-7-pro-smartphone Maybe consider the 7A? https://www.thainexusman.com/en/product/1322/google-pixel-7a-smartphone These are U.S. variants, and may not support 5G on your current service provider here. Not a deal-breaker IMO. I use a Pixel 6 on DTAC, and LTE is more than fine for me. For Samsung, the A54 5G looks quite nice.

Just expand the existing welfare program which the Prayuth regime has been using for the last five plus years, to dole out billions. Bump the amount, allow more people to enroll. 22 million applied most recently, some 14.5 million receive benefits. https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/general/40025272

"Biden is trying to jail his leading political opponent"
bamnutsak replied to Social Media's topic in World News
This one is better.. Accompanied by Walt Nauta's text message: 'I opened the door and found this...' Nauta texted a Trump employee along with shots of the spill "Clean up on aisle three". And someone tell Vlad to clean up after he's scanned the documents, which aren't here. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12179201/Indictment-lays-Trump-valet-Walt-Nauta-intelligence.html -
If you say so. Authorities say it's down to 5 baht per tab, retail, street price for a single tab. Although some say it's 2 baht/tab. Crystal meth is more expensive. Meth Use Rising in Thailand as Prices Fall, Study Finds BANGKOK — Methamphetamine use in Thailand jumped 30% last year, new research shows, amid a production boom of the illicit drug in next door Myanmar flooding the region with ever-cheaper supplies. A tablet of powdered meth, commonly known as yaba, which means “crazy medicine” in Thai, now goes for as little as 86 cents or even 58 cents in the north of Thailand near the border with Myanmar, Nantapol said. That is as little as one-fourth of what it cost a few years ago. https://www.voanews.com/a/meth-use-rising-in-thailand-as-prices-fall-study-finds/6975741.html

Worrisome “media shares” rulings in recent past
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
"Precedent" isn't really as important "who" is being subjugated to the "law of rule" in Thailand, and "why" they are being persecuted. The judicial system is flawed, and relies on zero transparency. It's roots in Sakdina and the Law of the Three Seals continue to corrupt Thai society to this day. Nothing can or will ever be done to address this fatal flaw. -
Exclusive: Donald Trump admits on tape he didn’t declassify ‘secret information’ Former President Donald Trump acknowledged on tape in a 2021 meeting that he had retained “secret” military information that he had not declassified, according to a transcript of the audio recording obtained by CNN. “As president, I could have declassified, but now I can’t,” Trump says, according to the transcript. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/06/09/politics/trump-tape-didnt-declassify-secret-information/index.html

813 tablets. Wow. Meanwhile in Saraburi this week... The four Thai men and one woman from Laos, all with links with a major drug trafficking network have been arrested in Saraburi, officers also seized around 8 million methamphetamine pills worth about 50 million baht. https://aseannow.com/topic/1297129-national-news-from-surf-1025-fm-wednesday-7-june-2023/ Street value down to 6 baht per tab.

Since any protests would lead to "instability", which would require the military to stage another coup (attention, find that old NCPO stationary for issuing Attitude Adjustments), which will lead to forced stability, I would think that would lead to improved economic conditions. It's kind of SOP for Thailand right?

I watched the video. Biden IMMEDIATELY (less than a second) recognized his mistake and made light of it. Not seeing a senior-moment here. Yes, he tripped over a sandbag. No he didn't need help waddling down a ramp. I realize the right wingnut jobs need a hope/prayer and if this sort of mistake gives them jollies I say feast away.
