A Florida Republican who sponsored an anti-drag bill 'can't answer' whether his wife's charity event featuring 'sultry performers' would be criminalized under his own law A Florida Republican couldn't say whether his wife's charity event would flout his anti-drag bill. The wife of Rep. Randy Fine is hosting a gala featuring "sultry performers," and kids have attended in the past. Rep. Fine told Insider that he doesn't believe children should be invited to such events. https://www.businessinsider.com/florida-republicans-wifes-charity-event-flout-anti-drag-law-2023-4

18,000 cows killed in Texas dairy farm explosion

Would be aswesome if you could share which schools in Florida have mandatory drag-show attendance. Same for you. And if you can detail how "they" are "forcing" people to "accept them as normal", that would be awesome too. Florida already has laws protecting children from live, adult-oriented entertainment. This could be why you don't see a lot of kids in Florida's hundreds of strip clubs. As an aside, Florida strip-club owners are lobbying the legislature to lower the age for performers from 21 to 18. CS/HB 1423: Protection of Children GENERAL BILL by State Administration & Technology Appropriations Subcommittee ; Fine ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Black ; Plakon ; Sirois Protection of Children; Prohibits governmental entity from issuing permit or otherwise authorizing person to conduct performance in violation of certain provisions; authorizes Division of Hotels & Restaurants of DBPR to fine, suspend, or revoke license of any public lodging establishment or public food service establishment if establishment admits child to adult live performance; provides violation constitutes immediate serious danger to public health, safety, or welfare; authorizes division to impose specified fines for violations; specifies division may revoke or suspend license of person found to be maintaining licensed premises that admits child to adult live performance; prohibits person from knowingly admitting child to adult live performance. https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1423/BillText/c1/PDF The larger issue with RHPS would be the audience participation, and not having any men dressed as Dr. Frank-N-Furter. So drag-shows are part of the radical left "agenda"? I honestly was not aware of this factoid. How did you learn about this "agenda"? Can you share more details? This is a bold opinion. Is the "liberal left" the same as the "radical left"? And any examples of this "continuous confusuion"? It is interesting that the radical right-wing is so supportive of the government telling citizens what freedoms are allowed. Not so long ago they would be fighting for less government intervention, and more personal responsibility.. If only we could figure out a way to protect children from the number one cause of death. Hint: it's not drag-show story hour.

Many red states are considering legislation that will prevent women from crossing state lines to get an abortion. Those aiding such travel would also be subject to prosecution. Idaho's governor signed a law this week making it illegal for an adult to transport a minor to get an abortion without their parents' consent, making Idaho the first state to limit interstate travel for abortion, as Republican lawmakers nationwide continue to limit abortion access. https://www.forbes.com/sites/anafaguy/2023/04/06/idaho-becomes-first-state-to-restrict-interstate-travel-for-abortion/?sh=32fa6eed6c50

It wasn't a "snide jab", it was a statement of fact. And I did not say or "infer" Crow was a secret Nazi. Your defense of Crow the collector is admirable, and no, that doesn't infer that you are a secret Nazi.

I would think "Some Like It Hot" would be banned? And "As You Like It"? And all of these TV shows featuring drag competitions should be banned too? It's all about "protecting the children". Recent polling finds the six-week abortion ban is not popular among Florida residents of either political party. A University of North Florida poll in March found 75% of 1,452 respondents said they either somewhat or strongly opposed the six-week ban. That included 61% of Republicans. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/floridas-legislature-passes-6-week-abortion-ban-rcna78988

My sense is that ProPublica has much, much, much more information, and that it will be a drip - drip - drip until CJ Roberts chimes in, or Thomas is forced to resign. In the mean time Thomas should recuse himself from any/all/every case until his criminality has been fuuly adjudicated. In related news, Harlan Crow's brother, Trammell Crow Jr. has his own "legal" problems. Trammell Crow Jr. Named in Human Trafficking Case In federal court documents filed in California, Dallas real estate heir and investor Trammell Crow Jr. is accused by two women of financially supporting and participating in an alleged human-trafficking ring that victimized them over the course of 12 years. It is important to recognize that, while accusations can be made, nothing is proven until the legal process has concluded. Wealthy individuals and celebrities are often targeted by lawsuits to garner publicity. Whether Crow was involved or not has yet to be established. https://dallasexpress.com/national/trammell-crow-jr-named-in-human-trafficking-case/#:~:text=Named in Human Trafficking Case,-National&text=In federal court documents filed, the course of 12 years.

How the cannabis industry lifts all boats
bamnutsak replied to wenshidi's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Some of these grow operations are massive, with tens of thousands of individual plants per rotation, and employ hundreds (per site) of Thais, albeit in lower-wage jobs. These include construction of the facilities, and day-to-day operation. -
I do not believe that you can legally import CBD oil, but... it may depend on the details. Is your daughter a Thai citizen? What has she been diagnosed for? Can you link to this CBD "expert" and their formulation? There are government clinics here which may be able to prescribe a suitable alternative locally available. Myabe start with the Department of Thai Traditional and Aleternative Medicine (DTAM) within the Ministry of Public Health.

Walk out the door, turn left or go straight or turn right. Walk 100 m. Can you define "North Bangkok"? Google maps, search for cannabis. And YouTube has reviews. Maybe go to one of the larger shops. A bong may be harder to find, in a shop. Maybe better to order on-line? There was a recent bong thread here.

Brick weed. Why the different color wrappers?
bamnutsak replied to SunnyinBangrak's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
There is no way that the color of the foil wrapping, or the string, is somehow standardized, or indicative of "quality". The cheap weed thread has quite a few brick recommendations, mayeb just search that? Or go back to where you purchased this and ask them what is was, where they got it, and can they get more for you. At least you'd build up your knowledge base. -
How the cannabis industry lifts all boats

Meh. You don't really want to be "convinced". The cannabis industry was not intended to "lift all boats". -
I am very, very PRO-Second Amendment. I believe you should be able to own and operate any weapon so ratified on December 15, 1791. Any weapon not so stipulated by general records and historians as being available then must be further amended. Yes, I'm going there, see also ERA. An amendment may be proposed by a two-thirds vote of both Houses of Congress, or, if two-thirds of the States request one, by a convention called for that purpose. The amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the State legislatures, or three-fourths of conventions called in each State for ratification. And any weapons not so amended are ILLEGAL, and must be turned over to the government for destruction. BTW, as much as it pains me to say this, the police are a necessary regulated militia. Joe Bob down the street is not. And I'll finish with my request to repeal PLCAA, arguably one of the most heinous pieces of legislation ever passed. And that's saying something given our history. Firearms need "protection". WOW! Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) is a U.S law, passed in 2005, that protects firearms manufacturers and dealers from being held liable when crimes have been committed with their products. Both arms manufacturers and dealers can still be held liable for damages resulting from defective products, breach of contract, criminal misconduct, and other actions for which they are directly responsible. They may also be held liable for negligent entrustment when they have reason to know a gun is intended for use in a crime. The PLCAA is codified at 15 U.S.C. §§ 7901–7903. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protection_of_Lawful_Commerce_in_Arms_Act#Notes

No. They want it "their" way. I though you guys said that Joe was brain-dead and sequestered in the basement? But, now, whoa, he's playing 4D chess? Sheesh, settle on a narrative and stick to it. "If"? (I for one am thankful you do not. Phew, dodged a bullet on that one.) Why? I honestly do no know anyone who owns a gun. ( My grandfathers did, they were hunters, but they're long deceased. )

How many jurors in a Delaware Civil case? Six, eight, twelve? How many in the negative? One or two? I'd settle (as Fox), or at least try, given it only takes one, or two jurors, to totally muck up the works. And who knows how Tucker, Sean and Rupert come across on the stand? HUGE roll of the dice. I can see any of these three having a "strawberries and metal-balls" moment on the stand. Or Tucker screaming "You can't handle the truth!" And as Dominion I might settle for $5 B (3X plus a kicker), and a bunch of written apologies from the Fox & Friends. Reason: see "works, mucking up of", above.

Yeah. Makes about as much sense as the Second Amendment. I mean if you replace "guns" with "muskets" which required ~ 30 seconds to re-load. IMO, the Second Amendment should be interpreted in "originalist" format, so what ever weapons were availble then (~ 1780) are covered by the Second Amendment now. Tri-cornered hats, and well-regulated militias, are optional. And yes, if you really want a canon go for it.

See also Bond v. Floyd https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/385/116/ The Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision, ordered the Georgia House of Representatives to permit Bond to take his seat. The Court held: Though a State may impose oath requirements on legislators, it cannot limit their capacity to express views on local or national policy. A majority of state legislators is not authorized to test the sincerity with which another duly elected legislator meets the requirement for holding office of swearing to support the Federal and State Constitutions. The State may not apply to a legislator a First Amendment standard stricter than that applicable to a private citizen. Although the present SCOTUS might not vote 9:0 given a similar case?

Yeah, I was taken back by the size of the fireplace. In Texas no less, where he probably has to crank the air after he lights the fireplace? But I was reminded of the fireplace in Charles Foster Kane's Xanadu.

I think fully-automatic (single trigger pull firing multiple rounds) firearms will eventually be legal in all states, given the SCOTUS make-up and the majority's interpretation of the 2A. The first step is the removal of the bump-stock ban, overturned by the 5th Circuit 13:3, and which the Biden Administration/DoJ will appeal to SCOTUS. And SCOTUS will affirm the 5th Circuit's opinion. Biden appeals ruling against ban on gun bump stocks April 7 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's administration on Friday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear its appeal of a lower court ruling against a federal ban on "bump stock" devices that enable semiautomatic weapons to fire like machine guns. In January, the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with Cargill, concluding that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), a U.S. Justice Department agency, impermissibly reclassified bump stocks as machine guns, which are forbidden under U.S. law. https://www.reuters.com/legal/biden-appeals-ruling-against-ban-gun-bump-stocks-2023-04-07/#:~:text=In January%2C the New Orleans, are forbidden under U.S. law. After that it's a slow (or fast?) march to fully auto weapons, and I can't see how any weapon could ever be banned. This would include grenade launchers, shoulder-fired missiles, drone-mounted firearms, drone-launched ordinance, etc. Even though I am not associated with a well-regulaed militia, you can't infringe on my right to own, use, walk around in public with any "arm". The National Firearms Act of 1934 banned the machine gun. https://homicide.northwestern.edu/docs_fk/homicide/laws/national_firearms_act_of_1934.pdf

Do ‘disaster trolls’ believe the conspiracy theories they promote?
bamnutsak replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
Depends on where they are on the grift scale. If they monetize their "beliefs" then they do not believe them. If they're just the normal useful idiots, then yes, they believe everything.
