  1. Greenhead looks like a fairly large operation with some ~ 20 dispensaries across the Kingdom. I agree that having a dispensary within a tollway service plaza is probably not a good idea long term. The Government licensing authority should have been ultra-cautious in granting a license at this location. This sort of thing will probably be sorted. Is it "madly incongruous", or will it result in general "madness"? No, of course not. That said, every dispensary I've visited here, ~ 25-ish, has been situated on a sub-soi, soi, street, road, highway. So I think you face an uphill battle convincing people of the impending "madness".
  2. Can you describe what it is that you've purchased and smoked? Where did you buy it, what was it called, how much did you pay? You bought on-line? In a dispensary? Does it have any smell BEFORE you burn it? Can you share some photos? Did you gett a 'buzz' from any of this weed? What did you smoke/like in the U.S.? I've purchased from ~ 15 or so sources, have yet to find anything like you describe. Maybe I've been lucky, where you've been unlucky? Maybe visit a dispensary, where you can examine the product up close?
  3. Sorry, my initial read on this was COMPLETELY wrong. Section 3 states that Cannabis is NOT a narcotic, and codifies the current ministry edict (which removed Cannabis from the Class 5 narcotics list). By "deleting" it by a vote of 119:0 with 31 abstentions, it would revert to being a class 5 narcotic, were this bill to eventually pass, and be Gazetted. Of course without this section this bill almost seems unnecessary. After that there was some quorum issue raised and debate ceased. This is, I think, the second 'reading'. So not sure exactly but I suspect the current situation remains as is, and that this bill may remain in committee until a new Parliament is seated sometime next year? Often attributed to, strangely, Otto von Bismarck.
  4. Exposure to second-hand smoke (SHS) comprises the main risk factor for nonsmokers to develop COPD/emphysema.
  5. Edibles. When I smoked cigarettes - quit ~ 35 years ago - I smoked at least twenty per day. I smoke cannabis, dry-herb vaporize actually so nothing is burning, maybe twice per week for a total of 0.4 grams. Big difference.
  6. It is legal, on DOMESTIC, intra-Thailand flights only. (like the OP's itinerary) Cannabis flower specifically. Other extracts/concentrates > 0.2% THC would be prohibited. “Passengers who wish to bring legal cannabis or cannabis products on domestic flights are advised to pack it in their checked baggage. The reason is that cannabis items carried on board must be inspected by staff from the Narcotics Control Board and would cause a delay during security checks.” The Office of Narcotics Control Board will still undertake inspections of “cannabis items” at security to ensure that no extracts with high levels of THC – which are illegal – get on board. https://thethaiger.com/guides/cannabis/can-i-take-cannabis-on-domestic-flights-in-thailand#:~:text=Yes%2C cannabis can be taken,to avoid delays at security.
  7. This also means that sixty-one have somehow permanently left the scene via death, prison, other. At this point Parliament should be dissolved.
  8. To me, this means the entire bill would have passed, but once the opposition saw this section passed they had no choice other than to avoid further votes. Cannabis remains "legal", actually more accurately producing, buying/selling, possessing and smoking are "Not Illegal". There are some limits currently. So it is approved, it is not a narcotic and flowers only are a "Controlled herb". "Control refers to age (20 YO), pregnant, no onsite smoking, public smoking which causes a nusiance, and a few others. Growers and sellers must be licensed. It's under control. A new law is not really needed but Thais seem to desire as many laws as possible. FWIW this bill actually contains nothing really new other than codifying the decreed controls, and establishing a Cannabis Control Board, and identifying various ministries roles.
  9. Correct, but... Fourteenth Amendment Section 3... Section 3 Disqualification from Holding Office No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
  10. Yes, we all know that. I guess my point is, what is so innovative about musk's purchase of Twitter? Nothing. Meh x2 on both the "vehicle" and the "success". You're conflating wealth and success with "innovativeness". Fail. Yes, he's rich. I was questioning how "innovative" he really is or was. Siri, How many patents does Elon Musk have? A very quick search shows that Musk has three utility patents (i.e. actual inventions)
  11. Huh? This is not an accurate assessment of the legal status of cannabis use. Recreational use is NOT illegal. Yes, there are limitations on recreational use. Sending mixed-messages does more harm.
  12. Trump’s former White House ethics lawyer This is a great punch-line. Needs a good set-up. "Who never worked a day in his life?"
  13. The RTN has been the Kingdom's Military poor cousin since the Manhattan Rebellion. The loss of life is horrible. Hopefully the RTN head will take responsibility, share the results of a full investigation, and make changes going forward. /cough
  14. Is he though? The Boring Company? Neuralink? Which ironically enough actually wants to implant chips in humans. Maybe he's "innovative" about lining up lots of baby-mamas (usually female employees at one of his "companies") to have his twins and triplets? Twitter is based on GSM/SMS technology which is hardly "innovative"? Those Twitter Files (Trust No One) were a bust. Still waiting for Matt Taibbi's "Part 2" due "tomorrow".
  15. From https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/personal/get-support/convert-currency.html 20 Dec/0% bank fee MC has their rate, the XE rate is irrelelvant. I think this is one of the better methods to obtain local currency at a good rate without cash in hand. 1 Thai Baht = 0.028808 United States Dollar Your transaction amount of 40,000.00 THB = 1,152.32 USD in your card currency
  16. FWIW, I was quoting kimdotcom, and mocking elmu's "comment".
  17. Poll was "rigged" by "Deep State Bots".
  18. One-third of adult Thai citizens applied for welfare Applications for welfare have seen a huge jump, with 22 million Thai people requesting a state welfare card in the latest round of registration. That massive figure equates to about one-third of the entire adult population of Thailand. It is a huge jump from the current 13.5 million people now carrying welfare cards in the country. The figures come after the end of the last registration period in October. Deputy Finance Minister Santi Promphat reported the numbers and said that many applying for welfare are likely the result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic hardship that it brought over the last few years. The deputy minister was not shocked by the unusually high number of applicants for welfare. He says that a large percentage of the people who applied were likely from vulnerable groups like those who suffer from chronic illness or may even be bedridden. Another big chunk of applicants may have just not been prepared for the drawn-out economic drop of the pandemic. https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/economy/one-third-of-adult-thai-citizens-applied-for-welfare
  19. Intital reports this morning said that all crew had been rescued and accounted for, and that there were a few minor injuries. Clealry those initial reports were inaccurate. Now we'll have to wait further for accurate news, and a bit longer for the results of a full, transparent and complete investigation. Hopefully the loss of life is none. With ranges being reported of 28 - 31, the potential death toll from this disaster is horrible to consider. Based on Thai reports, and the Defense Minister's (Prayuth) statements, it does sound quite a bit worse than initially reported.
  20. Maybe he was interviewing Jared for the position at the WC final?
  21. This, more than likely would trigger a Suthep/PDRC-led Bangkok Shutdown a la 2013/14. As would any discussions about reforming institutions. Probably won't get that far in this cycle. Maybe in ~ 8 - 10 years during the next spasm.
  22. Yeah, that's not how this works. Now if you had a visa card from a thai bank and used it in the U.S. then yes, you'd pay 35.16 for one single dollar. Still unclear on what the OP is doing?
  23. Yeah, this first submarine trial was not perfect. R.I.P. HTMS Sukhothai. Plenty of inauspicous happenings these days. Fortune tellers must be super-busy.
  24. You made a charge here in Thailand? In THB? When? I see 34.7657 as the Visa/0% "rate" right now? No clue where you're gettting 35.16? Or did you use DCC?
  25. Anutin is rumored to have favorable reviews from the PtB. Of course the same was said of Thaksin ca. late 1990's. Any PM, other than Prayut/Prawit, will have to survive a viper pit challenge.
