  1. Google: death in thailand site: aseannow.com yields many, but maybe this is the one you remember? https://aseannow.com/topic/1269058-special-feature-what-happens-when-a-foreigner-dies-in-thailand/
  2. +1 for Kaleidoscope. Recommend reading about it, sans spoilers, to determine the best order - episodes are titled by colors and can be watched in any order - for YOU to watch. I took it straight up, as Netflix offered. Brilliant ensemble cast led by Giancarlo Esposito. Glass Onion, OK. 7.5/10 Wednesday awesome 9.5/10 The Recruit 8/10, likeable spy romp. Traitor, so-so 7/10. Slow Horses, part 2, 9.5/10. Love this show, as close to LeCarre as possible, maybe it's because Gary Oldman also protrayed George Smiley. I must read the books. Loving the Taylor Sheridan Streaming Network...1883, 1923, Yellowstone...Tulsa King...Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 coming soon, prayers for Jeremy Renner to make a full recovery. I liked The Peripheral. Will watch Jack Ryan part 3.
  3. Huge Monk fan here. Struggling to name my favorite composition... "Straight, No Chaser"? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWNhvGhhCWY or "Round Midnight" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC68NtEmAcc There are quite a few live performances on Youtube where you can get a feel for his style. Documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FT9VeJBcEBM He is in the famous photograph: A Great Day in Harlem. He's easy to spot! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Great_Day_in_Harlem_(photograph)
  4. In my home state in the U.S. everything must be tested, and they're not concerned with THC content per se. It's more about safety. The highest I see I my "home" dispensary in the U.S. this morning is 29.7%. Some people conflate total cannabanoids with THC. A relatively small segment of the market buys solely on THC numbers. There are "Moon Rocks" which are flower at their core, then drizzeled with extract oil, and rolled in kief. These are in the 50% THC range. Likewise Live Resin is in this same 50% range. Concentrates and Distillates go up into the high 80's/low 90's THC content is more or less irrelevant, IMO, you just consume more or less to get your desired effects. Which drugs are you reading about which are "laced" onto Cannabis? And are these drugs metabolized by smoking? This sounds a bit urban-legendy. Can you elaborate on this? This is here, in Thailand? These buds are marketed as something other than CBD? Why couldn't they be sold?
  5. It seems like one particular text message set Musk off so much he decided, somewhat erraticlly and in less than a minute, to purchase Twitter. Elon Musk’s Text Messages Explain Everything A disastrous year for the tech industry, captured for eternity in a billionaire’s private exchanges Exhibit H also shows what happens when somebody with actual expertise questions the visionaries. The entire document is a demonstration of elite-level brownnosing, with the exception of one man: then-Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal. The two seem to hit it off—Musk likes that Agrawal is an engineer who can “do hardcore programming”—but then Agrawal sends Musk a text about his unhinged tweets. “You are free to tweet ‘is Twitter dying’ or anything else about Twitter - but it’s my responsibility to tell you that it’s not helping me make Twitter better in the current context,” he says to Musk. This small suggestion appears to enrage Musk and, it seems, alters the entire history of the company forever. “What did you get done this week?” Musk shoots back. And then, less than one minute later, the billionaire writes, “I’m not joining the board. This is a waste of time. Will make an offer to take Twitter private.” https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2022/12/elon-musk-texts-twitter-purchase-exhibit-h/672595/ The full Exhibit H filed in Twitter V. 6. Is he even a U.S. citizen? R-Brazil? Can we see his birth certificate? Or if he is naturalized does he meet the Article I, Sec. 2 requirements? No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen. Art. I Section 2 Some are saying he has told the New York Republican establishment that he will NOT run for re-election in 2024.
  7. I'm sure this is just one bad apple. /spit-take. Kicking-back upwards of 18% of an annual budget is bold. But prayuth told us he would eliminate corruption, as part of his twenty-year plan, so we just have to wait another 12-ish years.
  8. Was there a fireplace in IRS Commissioner Rettig's office?
  9. Agreed. "Gettin' stuff done" should be the campaign tag-line. Simply amazing all that he has accomplished. It helps when you have policies, core beliefs and faith in America's propsects. Unlike the republicans who only seem to have complaints, and zero solutions. No problem with age - experience and character mean more than youthfulness. If he chooses not to run then it will be wide open, but a Democratic governor like Gretchen Whitmer or Jared Polis might have a solid chance? Kamala Harris would make a good POTUS but she polls poorly for obvious reasons. Same goes for Sen. Warren. Enjoy a well-deserved vacation.
  10. Unless he was burning his Christmas shopping list, or something similarly personal, this action speaks to criminal intent of underlying activity (ies), and destruction of government property. And given other testimony that Meadows ordered WH staff to keep minimal records, and meetings, "off the books", he clearly understood that these activities were illegal. I'm guessing Cipollone informed him often on this. Cipollone is the one who referred to this as a “a murder-suicide pact.” Definitely not a good look for Mr. Meadows. Can't wait to see which actors get to play him, and his fireplace antics will certainly warrant a long shot, with an exterior of the WH chimney belching smoke. Without Ms. Hutchinson, not unlike John Dean before her, the country would be in a much more challenging era.
  11. Robert E. Lee’s Thoughts on Confederate Memorials The complex relationship between Robert E. Lee and memorials began in Lee’s lifetime. He argued against creating Confederate war monuments on battlefields, which would “keep open the sores of war.” [1] Instead, Lee supported efforts by Ladies Memorial Associations to mark the graves of Confederate casualties. https://www.nps.gov/arho/learn/historyculture/memorialization-of-robert-e-lee-and-the-lost-cause.htm#:~:text=Robert E. Lee's Thoughts on Confederate Memorials&text=He argued against creating Confederate, the graves of Confederate casualties. Robert E. Lee's descendant says taking down Confederate symbols a 'no-brainer' Rev. Robert Lee IV says taking down these symbols is an "opportunity." https://abcnews.go.com/US/robert-lees-descendant-taking-confederate-symbols-brainer/story?id=71545891
  12. Most learn history from books. Statues and portraits, meh, not so much. No one is talking about banning books, oh except for some on the far right. Interesting how some want to "erase" the "original sin", and those same people bemoan the removal of icons of traitors. A curious lot.
  13. He also ran as an "openly Gay" candidate. Me may be. He was previously married and divorced, with/from a woman, a fact he failed to disclose. And just to keep the lectures brief, yes, we all know many gay men are or have been married to women.
  14. Interesting that Obama, Biden, Comey and McCabe were audited. Obama and Biden because it is required by law, while the latter two were targeted as "enemies". But trump, oh no, we don't have enough staff.
  15. The list of Russian oligarchs who've "passed away", especially since the Ukraine Invasion, is staggering. My favorite so far is Ravil Maganov, a Lukoil executive, who tripped and fell while smoking. I think the whole point is to make sure everyone knows who murdered these people. Updated: A list of oligarchs and Putin critics found dead since Ukraine war https://www.euronews.com/2022/09/22/accidental-defenestration-and-murder-suicides-too-common-among-russian-oligarchs-and-putin
  16. I presonally wouldn't carry cannabis on a domestic flight, but the article I linked contains a quote directly from AoT. Possession of cannabis flower is legal, so "possessing" it in your checked bag is not illegal. Obviously extracts greater than 0.2 % THC are/would be illegal to possess and transport on a domestic flight. The sniffer dogs are looking for jungle meat. Yes, laws and enforcement can change but I think we'll hear about any changes. And, were things to change, I assume there would be drop-off points - as there are with other banned items - where one could deposit cannabis prior to boarding a flight. If cannabis is placed back on the Narcotics List then all of this is moot.
  17. It sounds like you're opting for a 1 year, 30 Mbps, unlimited volume SIM/plan from DTAC? And it sounds like you are happy with DTAC's performance in your location? With a 30 Mbps speed cap I can't see you having any issues maxing out that cap. And that router will not be a bottleneck as it supports GbE and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5GHz WiFi. If you still have concerns speak to nearby neighbors or trial other potential providers for a day/week/month. IMLE, the seller provides registration details. I've purchased from TreeMobile, and they have that DTAC SIM on sale for 1,488 from 1,690 today.
  18. This why it is referred to as "Taxi". Been a problem here for the last few years. I assume something like it or similar can be fashioned in the border labs. Fentanyl can't be far behind.
  19. And her uncle is a Police General (ret?), former National Police Chief and Deputy PM in Yingluck's administration.
  20. Sorry, but this has been given countless times. What do you require? Stone tablets? Cannabis flower is a controlled herb which can be produced, sold, and consumed legally. "Control" includes licensing (production, sales), age/medical restrictions, public smoking which causes a nuisance, etc.
  21. Let the people party. I can't see the RTP enforcing cannabis usage during NYE celebrations without written authorization from the DPM/MoPH or the PM (to whom the RTP report directly). And that will have to be broadly publicized, and not uttered by the DTAM headman, who works for Anutin. I'm just waiting for the Ministry of Culture to issue a statement warning women to refrain from twerking. But maybe that will come closer to Songkhran?
  22. Greenhead looks like a fairly large operation with some ~ 20 dispensaries across the Kingdom. I agree that having a dispensary within a tollway service plaza is probably not a good idea long term. The Government licensing authority should have been ultra-cautious in granting a license at this location. This sort of thing will probably be sorted. Is it "madly incongruous", or will it result in general "madness"? No, of course not. That said, every dispensary I've visited here, ~ 25-ish, has been situated on a sub-soi, soi, street, road, highway. So I think you face an uphill battle convincing people of the impending "madness".
  23. Can you describe what it is that you've purchased and smoked? Where did you buy it, what was it called, how much did you pay? You bought on-line? In a dispensary? Does it have any smell BEFORE you burn it? Can you share some photos? Did you gett a 'buzz' from any of this weed? What did you smoke/like in the U.S.? I've purchased from ~ 15 or so sources, have yet to find anything like you describe. Maybe I've been lucky, where you've been unlucky? Maybe visit a dispensary, where you can examine the product up close?
  24. Sorry, my initial read on this was COMPLETELY wrong. Section 3 states that Cannabis is NOT a narcotic, and codifies the current ministry edict (which removed Cannabis from the Class 5 narcotics list). By "deleting" it by a vote of 119:0 with 31 abstentions, it would revert to being a class 5 narcotic, were this bill to eventually pass, and be Gazetted. Of course without this section this bill almost seems unnecessary. After that there was some quorum issue raised and debate ceased. This is, I think, the second 'reading'. So not sure exactly but I suspect the current situation remains as is, and that this bill may remain in committee until a new Parliament is seated sometime next year? Often attributed to, strangely, Otto von Bismarck.
