  1. In May, 2014 the Constitutional Court removed Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra from office unanimoulsy, along with nine of her Minsters. She was caretaker PM at the time. Her "crime": transfer of national police chief in 2011, and replacement of that chief. Note that the RTP report directly to the PM. I'm sure there will be a similar result based on the current caretaker government's reshuffling. Just kidding.
  2. Crazy thought time Yep. That's crazy. A complex solution to a problem which does not exist.
  3. This clown and his party garnered one, single seat (down from ten previously) with 0.92% of the votes. Clueless.
  4. You may need an import license? Even then they might qualify as an "extract"?
  5. Now just need to find a volume (149) sale on Senators.
  6. By the time they sort this mess of an 'election', and the resulting slow-moving self-coup, cannabis will have been legal for nearly two years - I think this Constitutional crisis will last into mid-2024. It already seems 'normal', as does the similarly implemented alcohol liberalization. And there are almost no "the sky is falling" stories about the threats of cannabis. Taking away rights and privileges, which the public has become accustomed to, will be challenging. Much better to focus on the ever worsening methamphetamine problem, which results in ~ 200,000 incarcerations and countless damage to the public health.
  7. AFAIK, only one person can provide a Pardon. Justifying a Pardon for a single individual, who was portrayed as an enemy of the state, will require threading a needle.
  8. "Something" would have had to exist for it to be at "risk". 'Democracy' has only existed here for brief periods, since ~ 2006 (they tried to get rid of Thaksin in 2001) it's been a junta "ruling" Thailand. Another Constitutional Crisis has arisen, all because a few minor changes to a law which protects a handful of individuals is a bridge too far. It would simpler if they just went back to an absolute monarchy.
  9. Every day it doesn't burst into flames, or the fumes don't send someone into pulmonary shock, is a good day. And "Stench"? Really? That's Bangkok trademark, "Soft Power". Should petition the U.N. for some sort official designation. Gotta' feel for Chadchart. As one of the only two directly elected officials in Thailand, he's got to manage both a dying and re-birthing infrastructure, with little money/budget, or power.
  10. This walk-through was posted yesterday. I didn't see any mobile vans, just tuk-tuks and motorbikes parked on one side of the street. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zg0-DlijmI In/around Nana there are quite a few up-scale Cannabis shops, did not see any street-side vans selling cannabis. In the ~ 14 months since liberalization I still haven't seen anyone smoking cannabis, or even smelled it. So that Essence du Bangkok still comes through with notes of rotting fetid decaying garbage, cigarette/vape clouds, exhaust fumes and noise pollution.
  11. Incompetent. He should resign. He presided over one session and under his "leadership" Thailand immediately fell into a full-blown Constitutional crisis.
  12. Devon Archer has been convicted of Fraud, and has been sentenced. He has not proceeded to prison yet. Devon Archer Sentenced To A Year And A Day In Prison For The Fraudulent Issuance And Sale Of More Than $60 Million Of Tribal Bonds https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/devon-archer-sentenced-year-and-day-prison-fraudulent-issuance-and-sale-more-60-million
  13. What ethics violations has the Biden Administration been accused of? I would imagine that Rep. Comer's Oversight Committee would be all over these - when he's not chasing Hunter Biden - and is ready to move forward with an Impeachment Hearing. If Polls were an indication of reality Hilary Clinton would be part-way through her second term. I don't know how the question(s) were framed so challenging to make an assessment on the validity of this poll.
  14. "Crackpot". How 19th century. On the plus side, trump only hires the best crackpot lawyers. Of course Pence went to Dan Quayle for a legal opinion on certifying the Electors.
  15. Yes. A news article based on "allegations" made by Chuwit.
  16. "Well my lawyer, Rudy G., said I could shoot that guy on Fifth Avenue, so yeah, I was following legal advice from my lawyer." Advice of Legal Counsel may be a defense, unless said counsel was advising that their client commit crimes.
  17. Pitting the two anti-establishment parties and their supporters against each other is a savvy move by the powers that be.
  18. I think the message all along has been that you can have any PM you want, as long as it's Prawit, Prayut or Anutin.
  19. I don't understand what the regime hopes to get from pardoning five of nineteen charges, and moving her to a bungalow?
  20. There are mandatory sentencing guidelines but I can see a judge making exceptions for a (by then) nearly 80 year old ex-president by allowing him to serve his sentence under house arrest.
  21. Hunter Biden business associate testifies he has no knowledge of wrongdoing by Joe Biden Republicans released a 141-page transcript of Devon Archer's testimony on the same day former President Donald Trump was arraigned in Washington, D.C. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/hunter-biden-business-associate-testifies-no-knowledge-wrongdoing-joe-rcna97953 https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Devon-Archer-Transcript.pdf
  22. Strongly disagree. Have you been to a movie recently? My view is that sentiment for change to this law is actually under-represented by MFP's mandate. That's because people are a bit afraid to voice their support for fear of retribution by the powers that be. Thais are taught early on, and throughout their lives, to be subservient, and to respect their betters, or else. There is really only a tiny segment of the population holding firm on any changes to the power dynamics in Thailand. The Ultra-Royalist Thai Pakdee Party gained very few votes: 102,237 party list, and 97,513 constituency. Oof. and ZERO seats, so that should tell you something.
  23. Might as well just ask the people in charge who they want as PM? It would save time. And it won't look any less "democratic" than this selective public defamation/prosecution through cut-outs (Chuwit, Runagkrai) of contenders.
