  1. There is a class of taxi that was 'grandfathered' in before meter use, and other 'newer' restrictions like age of the car and size used, newer 'metered' taxis can only be used for about 10 years and has minimum engine size(and resulting interior)

so these 'old' plate taxi is often running on a tiny Vios on really old beat up corolla

usually the color is black and yellow with the ทก or มก licence plate

The plate can be transferred to a new car, so the plate is worth a lot more than the car and very likely mafia owned

so if you see a Taxi like these, don't argue over the use of meter, they won't even have them installed

  2. I just noticed in my travel is that when Hotels check you in, they only require 1 ID/Passport, in case you're travelling with your Thai wife and they took her ID, or if there's two of you and they only take 1 passport, the result would be that you don't get reported on the TM30 and immigration only see that you stayed at your original place.

Should you insist on the hotels making TM30 report for all in your group when travelling? or does it save you the hassle of reporting yourself when you are 'back home' in case where you are

  3. Central has their own health and safety team and it looks like small fire that didn't even trigger the sprinkler

They are quite organized when there's jumpers too, having a barrier that they can erect over the body to prevent people gawking and taking photos until the police/coroner arrive. Most place in Thailand would afford you a couple sheets of newspaper

  4. Don't need to go all the way to land office, just look for the round concrete post with markings on top that denotes the corner of the land

having a copy of the deed without the help of surveyor you won't be able to make much sense of where things's supposed to go

Usually where the utility poles or the drainage channel in your pic is probably where the boundary lies, so the cones are just about right, if you can manage to park 'outside' of their boundary without blocking traffic maybe

  5. Went to Chiang Mai last week on a 6AM flight, lucky I turned up around 4.30, the queue was quite disorganized and new comers would cut in all the time, if they'd only deploy the barrier and makes newcomers join the back of the queue.

At least the hoards of Chinese and Russians were using some other part of the terminal to check in,

Coming back, the new terminal looks barely enough to contain the current number of passengers, the immigration counter is again too small. If they're going to seriously promote UTP as Bangkok's 3rd airport they'd need another terminal

  6. while ระยะทาง is a valid translation of distance, having the word ทาง could confuse the reader with 'way'

ระยะที่ใช้หยุด is distance used in stopping

  7.  Ma without the ending consonant that the OP heard could be มะ which is not *very*  but rather a question?

Aroi Ma? อร่อยมะ? which is diminutive of อร่อยมั๊ย?

used as a rhetorical question it could signify that is is indeed good or 'very'

  8. To remove any ambiguities  ขี้ข้า is better and require less mental gymnastics from Thais to understand compared to just 'ข้า'

    again with the ตาย

to add further context you could said ขี้ข้าคุณตายหมด(แล้ว)เหรอ

They missed a huge opportunity to relocate the station to nearer the expressway when the skytrain was extended. They have a subsidiary station some way along the road to Chonburi, but it's a very long way from the skytrain.

Regardless, a link to the expressway at Ekamai would have saved many hours of my life and billions of litres of diesel.

The plot of land on the corner of Bangna and Sukhumvit is supposed to be a large mall with attached transport complex, 'Bangkok Mall' by the mall group, but the project has been idle for a while
