  1. Hi BKkbike09, do you mean if there are there are 3 cars using this charging station at the same time , We might be paying the 9 baht for 120 Khw but getting less output kWh since all 3 cars are charging, thus more time charging and unfairly charged ?
  2. I am a new recipient of SS which I deposit in a usa bank account . I have a Bangkok bank savings account which I use in for Thailand spending . Presently when I needed funds in Thailand , I transfer from my USA bank account via domestic wire to the Bangkok bank in NY. This is then transfered to my Thailand BKk savings account which I do not have an atm nor I have to be present at the bank branch for withdrawals. does it make sense to deposit my SS to the Bangkok NY directly or is it more beneficial or leave it as is. As I read this forum , there is much to know . Thanks
  3. My BYD local sales told me no finance available for foreigners . Still searching for a Finance bank contact to assist . Might have to be cash purchase.
  4. Even with the reduced pricing , there are good reasons to go with BYD: -does not include 1st year insurance and car registration -only 1 service center in BKK for repairs , warranty and maintenance. -need to pick up new car in BKK and drive back to far away province home . -longer car And battery warranty -24 hour road side assistance for 8 years -Recharge cable and v2l cable included -less expensive car insurance premium etc .
  5. I am also looking at hotels to stay at koh Chang in October . Appreciate any recommendations ? Thanks
  6. Is it possible to get a loan as a retiree here (not working in Thailand) , offshore pension income . I was informed we could not . Just checking .i too have the amount in the bank Did you mean you can add that small BYD camera and splice into their Wiring harness (video install instructions ) without impacting the car warranty?
  7. Anyone know if the ByD seal moved to one pedal brake driving . I know the dolphin and Otto did not subscribe to one pedal ( Volvo and Tesla uses one pedal) i am not sure if it is better with one pedal braking , just different tech as BYD does a similar regen process that uses the brake too for regen for a moother ride ).
  8. missing from the Dolphin ( although the camera can be bought and fit to the Dolphin very easily ). andrew, I was informed by sales that it would void my car warranty if I installed BYD camera that fit into the dolphin . Has to be an external camera I believe , unfortunately .
  9. jbchiangrai, any idea when the the mg4 x power or the 61khw mg4 comes to Thailand?
  10. Hi Pib, Congrats on your BYD otto3 purchase . I was looking at the dolphin extended and now Got to look at Otto 3 555. But at least I have more time as the govt subsidy moved from eom sept to eom Nov .
  11. Rabas, so you are probably in my situation , waiting for the 2nd mailing sept 7162 form . will keep posted when I receive 7162 form
  12. Appreciate a post in this forum indicating if you receive 7162 form from SSA (September 2nd mailing ). I am looking out for this form . Bad experience with June 2nd 1st mailing ( received it 2 months later on July 27th) probably will get the 2nd mailing .just waiting …
  13. Yes , I am in the same camp, choosing the extended over the standard .thanks for your thoughts . I Will pull the trigger sept 29th, however I hope the BYD seal introduction on sept 28 does not sway my decision . Haha
  14. Hi everyone , thanks for your feedback . I have 2 weeks to decide before I give 4k deposit . BKKBike09, Can you share your reasons why you decided on then dolphin extended (160k baht more ) versus the standard . For me, I choose the extended over the standard is for : - the additional range (340 vs 420km wltp) and power charge (60 vs 80kw) - ventilated seats - power and torque ( 15 vs 7 sec) I can live without the sunroof, wireless charging, larger set wheels, but nice to have . Not sure if multi link suspension is better compared to the torsion . r
  15. Machahoom , Thanks for your feedback , do you turn off / disable the lane assists , etc everytime you start the car? I am watching Bjorn nyland review mg4 51 kWh driving impressions and summary now to get more info .
  16. I am looking at below and asked for your thoughts to pull the trigger by end of September . BYD dolphin extended ( 859k ) MG 4 D ( 769) I believe the MG4d is a better choice than BYD dolphin standard due to MG4d larger battery /charge and RWD and only 70k more . However for 90k more , BYD dolphin extended peeks my interest to be considered . Appreciate MG owners and BYD owners to chime in. My only known issue is what JBCchaingrai confirmed , the requirement to set drive mode and regen everytime you start the car . Thanks
  17. are all your BYD settings i.e drive mode ( sport/normal ) or regen does not need to be set up when you cycle the car too ? this is great if you do not have to set up again everytime you get in . I am not sure but I think (mg 4 drivers can confirm ) that settings done on the screen to change regen or drive mode needs to be set up again everytime and are not set permanently . I saw on you tube that this was one thing owners hope will change in future updates.
  18. Those who paid fines when they renew their registration , how far do the fines go to . I assume it was either the last car registration or current calendar year ? Will know when renew comes I guess .
  19. Somewhere I read that the technician can programatic changed to WLTP versus their starting point of NEDC even with no dynamic range est. 420 (WLTP) 480 (NEDC)
  20. When MF was not able to get Pita as PM, the baton was handed to PT. This was even after MF with over 251 to form the govt.( and now PT scrambling to get that ? Can the baton be handed back over to MF so that as the most votes party be on the drivers seat again?
  21. Update to 1st mailing (June 2nd 7162) form : received - Jul 23 Returned via registered mail Jul 23 latest usps below wait for 2nd mailing if ssa sent another if not on time . Thanks for all your advise .
  22. Thanks for the info . BYD dealer informed me that the price is suppose to be 1 million baht for the dolphin extended and thus might be that price once subsidies are eliminated . This can about when the insurance coverage was at 1 million instead of purchase price of 849,000 baht. The dealer did not give much details of this subsidy that is why I asked in the forum . So basically the lower price of BYD/mg compared to Tesla /Volvo is the tax incentive given because BYD and mg have committed to build in Thailand unlike Tesla or Volvo ex30 at this time who only enjoy less import tax for ev cars
  23. I understand that BYD and mg ev cars are subsidized by Thai govt while Telsa and others are noteg Volvo.. Can anyone share what the subsidies are , what criteria were used and how much are the subsidies / expiry ? Thanks
  24. I was quoted 59 baht when I mailed mine but opted for the registered. I plan my 2nd mailing using only air mail , 59 baht in sept
