  1. I was thinking about that high line. Do you think it could be to stop the chaos that we see so much of in our box, and the hope is that they can sort it out better with space?????? Or maybe because they were worried about Hoffenheim's height????

Very strange approach whatever it is. They didn't score though, so i assume it worked perfectly lol

  2. Yeah, a difficult game. I thought Hoffenheim look really good. They have lost a couple of key players but looked well drilled and skillful. I agree about Vogt he looks class and would fit well with us...too late to buy and I don't think they would sell.

Our defense looked shambolic at times, and I thought Lovren was out of his depth (worst I have seen him) and made every body else worse. TTA looks great and I would keep him a permanent fixture. Our Midfield are too weak and we looked better with Milner. There was very little link up between Midfield and attack if trying to work the ball, and we gave Hoffenheim a lot of time to spray the ball about. Apparently, that was a tactic to allow Mane and Salah more freedom but seems a very dodgy ploy. As was the high defending for free kicks. That worked out, but on another day....

Great result, but the performances need to improve

This will be Klopp's 4th window.

Were talking about quality players required but actually they are everywhere.

Most prem defenders are better than our lads and pretty much every defender in the top 10 clubs would replace/improve our defence so why are we eyeing up 1 lad when we clearly do not have a good defence fulls top. This is Klopp's system which has a footprint of conceding goals as long as he has been around as a manager anywhere so even if we do get great defenders with this system we are always going to be more likely to concede goals.

I think you have a point about this. Our defensive system requires defenders with a slightly different skill-set; and they are either difficult to find or, more importantly unavailable. At the moment I just want leader in their who is good at organising us against set pieces and is great with his head. Matic is a good defender but I don't thin he is a leader yet. I would also be up for an experiensed DM to do the same job

  4. I think I would have preferred Gomez at left back for this one, but the manager's.choice is final. if we get a lead built up, I would like to see Solanke get some minutes on the board too

Coutniho will stay i think, even if he doesn't want to

And for those saying about spending....I'm pretty sure we tried to buy Kieta and are still hoping to buy VVD. Obviously it will be a nonsense if we have no back up plans, and then I will start to complain. Until then we have to see these games through until September. Not ideal, but life seldom is:smile:

  5. I am disappointed if he has handed in a request. I thought would definitely go next year, but stay this season. i suppose we will just end up doing what everyone has done to us and deny the move though.

When will the club announce it (if it is in) and their reaction?

Playing that deeper role this season, is going to take him to the next level. The understanding with Salah already looks brilliant, Can't wait for the new season to start.

Nor me. I think Salah will bag a load of goals. he looks very impressive. I also thin Coutiho will flourish a bit deeper. I hope he continues his runs at the box too though.

    Onward and upward

"Liverpool have rejected a bid of 100 million euros (£90m) from Barcelona for Brazil playmaker Philippe Coutinho.Barca's second bid for the 25-year-old...". Still not true?

I'm not sure who said the last offer was not true. I think Couthino will move to Barcelona (after all it is most S.American players dream), I just hope that it is at the earliest next year. We have said that we don't want him to go and we don't need the money, so I just hope that Phil is happy enough with us to stick around for a bit as he has already said he is happy here. He has developed incredibly under Kloppe, and I think he will only get better and will be able to move in the future anyway. Barcelona use this as a tactic. They show their interest and make a bid and come back next year to get it over the line. I wouldn't blame him for having his head turned but, if we continue to improve, maybe he would like to win all hi trophies with us;)

    Listen pal do the maths.

Huddersfield have spent 40m just 7 less than LFC.

Me, all I have said is Klopp should push for more signings and there is more than 2 options out there so stop with your jabbering about keita and vvd cos keita has died a death and vvd is the current laughing stock embarrassment in transfer history.

    Lay off the yabba mate.

    Happy with the squad????

    Lightweight

I have no idea why you are comparing us to Huddersfield, and you have no idea whether Kloppe is pushing for signings or not. personally I agree that he should get some more signings, but, as I stated, they need to be of a quality to slot into the squad and push somebody down the pecking order. Am I happy with the squad? No. i would;d like us to sign all the best players and  have a stellar team. The thing is though, I don't believe signing a star that doesn't fit our style will create a quick fix.

I agree that Kieta is a dead duck, but I used him as an example of the quality that Kloppe is looking for. I also agree that VVD is a bit of a farce, but i don't think that one is dead yet; though the Southampton board seem to be a huge stumbling block.

This team have been together an extra year, and seem to be flourishing. Salah was an excellent signing and I would rather Solanke over Origi at the moment. We now have a left footed left back to challenge there, and are still in for VVD (though that is obviously an opinion). Kloppe is a top manager, and if you think he is happy with the team as is, then you are living in cloud cuckoo land. He wants us to win things and will have no doubts that he can improve us with the correct personnel, but he also knows (his track record shows this), that he can work with players and make them much better.

Additions to the squad? Definitely a central defender to push Klavan down the pecking order while we work on Gomez (still fingers crossed for VVD), a DM, and somebody who is a Coutinhiolite. That would make me very happy but any of them would need to be able to play the formations we play in the way we play. Please could you drop Kloppe a line and let him know who is actually available that can do that. I'm sure he wold be very happy for your input.

  9. Do you not understand that Kloppe is a coach? he believes he can take a player and coach them into the team, which is what made him a success previously. In the case of Kieta and VVD, he thinks he has the chance to add top quality to his team. Players who will walk in and make a difference. i don't want players who are there to make up the numbers. Watching pre-season i think that we have some young players who will add depth and, unlike many others, I was impressed with Moreno. I still think we need a CB and a DM, but I think we are Ok across the board otherwise. VVD would be great for us as long as he is the same when hecomes back from injury, but to say we are not trying for him is rubbish. It is clear that we will pay a record fee for him and also Kieta.

Don't get me wrong, I think we need to sign more, but i want quality and players who will fit into Klopp's system. i do not want to waste money on players who will, in the end be no better that we have already. These youngsters already know how to play with our team and is why Kloppe is happy with them. trust the manager and stop slagging off FSG. Klopp is class, and FSG have clearly OK'd the money for players.

If you support LFC; support them all, and stop running us down because you do not understand where the future lies.

The player wants to leave, why fight it and why strengthen Bayern next season. 3 weeks ago Roma was not a supermarket for players.

This is the sensible way to look at this, plus the fair Play stuff and the debts they owe at the moment, But with the way they have managed to get into the Champions league, and the possibility that Red Bull could simply write off the debt they are owed, they could actually try to avoid the sale. You also have to figure in the fact that it will not only be Bayern triggering the cause next season.

I still have hope, but i think the longer this drags on the less likely it will be. offer them the 70 million and shock them into the sale

Mammana is a possible alternative to VVD, not Robertson/Anderson/Robinson:wink:

Yeah got a bit confused about the name there(is Andy Robertson a player?). I was talking about being happier about RA being a better option for his position than Mammamia being bought at CB (perhaps I should have used brackets there lol). From what I understand Mamamia was injured quite a lot last season, and if that were to continue, it would lead to the same problem we had last season. Not the way forward in my opinion, but he may not ever be injured again.

  12. I have said from the beginning of the closed season that I think we need to buy a natural left back, and if the rumours are true about Robert Anderson I feel happier now. He looks a good purchase to develope further and challange for the LB position, and I would be Ok with that; more so than  the approach for Mammana. I would have liked a finished article to step into the team, but there are not many left footers around who are available and are worth the money. Here is an interesting article that opened my eyes a bit about Robinson. It may be biased (I don't really know why it would be), but it is at least informative.

  13. Still a bit quiet on the transfer front. I would like to tink it is because things are developing  behind closed doors, but I am actually feeling a bit pessamistic now. The more I think about it, the less likely our main targets feel. Keita obviously wants a move, but I think RB will deny it unless we make a huge offer; and I don't think we will. 70 million is a large sum. VVD is only going to happen if he convices the new manager he would be better off without him or really pushes the transfer. I think VVD is more of a chance in January.

  14.

I am trying to find some concrete rules for private schools and have been looking at the PRIVATE SCHOOL ACT B.E. 2550 (2007)(As Amended by the Private School Act (No.2) B.E.2554), Within the contents it makes this statement.

"Working protection, the adoption of Working Protection Committee and the minimumremunerations of the Director, teachers and educational personnel of the Formal Schools shallbe in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Commission."

The commission are the Private Education Promotion Commission, but how do I  find the rules?

This is ridiculously difficult to get to the bottom of ...

    Any help would be appriciated.

P.S. i realise this is often talked about on here, but I have never found the actual rules as per the Private School Act. Here is a link to the document I was reading.

Then you have my sincere apologies as I obviously got the wrong end of the stick:sorry:

    I googled VVD.

Yes I hope you waste 60m quid on the lad.

Ahh... great that you can "Google". Perhaps having an opinion because you have seen the player instead of a computer screen would make your comment a bit more dependable :post-4641-1156693976:

I don't see how the LFC link can help?

I was more thinking about his plans for the team and being able to spend money on players he wants to buy and where he sees his priorities. Also, having a manager in place now may make them start the ball rolling with regards to transfers

  18. So.... Arsenal are "apparently" ready to sell the OX to us. I don't want him. I liked him when he appeared on the scene and I thought he was actually better then. Not sure why we would want him apart from as cover for a few players (which is good), but I would prefer us to buy upgrade and have those players on the bench. The money they are talking for him is too high for cover. But I suppose the beauty is that he could actually cover about 4 positions and would be a kind of 3in1 option.
