She killed a farang. Not really a big issue in Thailand. Rather like swatting a pesky fly or putting a sick cat to sleep. 

I went to an honorary consulate in Montgomery, Alabama and had none of these problems. Surely there is an honorary consulate in your state, as well. Path of least resistance and all that. 

In my experience, Thai people do not see farangs as fully human. Their attitude toward them is a bit like the view of the average white person toward slaves in the 19th century. The average Thai would think no more of defrauding a farang, than they would of buying a coffee at Starbucks.This attitude is prevalent from the very top to the very bottom of Thai society. Thailand's people are almost completely free of morality and conscience and one does business with them at one's own peril.

What an embarrassment for the United States. Trump should get along well with Prayut Chanocha when the two meet.

You've got to love the open xenophobia of the Prayut worldview. Farangs also have some effective penalties for treason.

Well there's certainly nothing more serious for the PM to be concerned about. Twerking is a matter of national security. That should draw at least a two year sentence.

Any Islamic country with blasphemy laws is no friend of the west. Too bad there's no oil in Paki land, the USA could have invaded it by now. 

Sending batteries through the mail can get a two year sentence, as well. Thailand seems obsessed with draconian sentences for non-offenses. They need more oil so the USA can justify an invasion/liberation.

The BIB lines up with their hands out. That's the bottom line.

There is never any excuse for cruelty to pets. Even if you eat animals for food, they can be killed humanely so that they do not suffer. Household pets should never be made to fight with scorpions or any other dangerous creature.

Nice to know that they're concentrating on REAL crime.   SMDH

Obviously, you haven't kept up with Prayut's hubristic statements over the past year. One of them was a prediction that the Thai language would grow in popularity world wide. It sounded very much like one of the ridiculous statements made by Donald Trump. Prayut and Trump are both sociopaths, given to broad, sweeping generalizations and absurd hyperbole.

And the Thai language will become the standard by which all others are judged. Wasn't this a Prayut Prediction fairly recently??

There is no end to this regime unless the people decide to end it. At that point, things have reached the point of no return. As long as Thailand has a "disposable Democracy" this situation will continue ad infinitum.

On the rare occasions when the USA or UK have the stones to complain loudly, these decisions are almost always reversed. First world countries have immense power. WHY don't they USE it?

If he's ever tried and convicted for treason, he should have PLENTY to say as he stands on the scaffold.

When will western governments grow a  pair of stones and DEMAND that Thailand rescind this law?

Kushner and his wife, Ivanka are the Julius and Ethel Rosenberg of our time. They should meet a similar fate.
