Not so for JobKeeper payments. However, you reminded me, you're correct, kicked in for my wife 01/20 for usual legal employment - from memory became a requirement from ATO, (don't know how they would enforce - see below) at least that's how it was explained to my wife. Prior to that she worked for five years without a cent in super, limited work around here with full legal benefits, as I said that it or leave it.
My stepson worked for a local restaurant full time for years, never paid him super. I encouraged him to try and get it when I returned from Thailand. Employer basically told him to f-off. he departed the restaurant, I contacted the ATO, ATO took action against the employer so he got some payment, but employer declared bankruptcy to avoid his obligations. Stepson never received another cent although the restaurant is still trading with a different family member.
Didnt know that jobkeeper payments would not require Super added - will let my friend know.
Yeh - have heard similar stories about scumbags who hide behind business structures. Unfortunately most businesses are structured so that they can walk away if something goes wrong. I did the same myself - not so I could do wrong things - but so I wouldn't lose the house fighting any frivolous legal claims or vexatious former employee or if something went wrong and an insurance company refused to pay. Hard to say that they should not be able to do so - but it is a problem due to the scumbags.

Yep. And Australia, Bahamas, Canada, Grenada, Ireland, New Zealand and most of Europe.
They have Govts that are rational and a media that keeps them at least a little honest (mostly).
Saying anymore would be in breach of TVs rules.
You either can or you cant - you either know or you dont - either way I cant help you understand.

I already disabled my western logic and common sense, still I look like this
Good question. Got another one. Why has the Government recently announced they will be spending hundreds of billions on large infrastructure projects, when they cannot pay 5000 baht a month to the starving Thais, and are now asking the uber-rich for ideas and donations. This place is falling apart quicker than I was predicting. Whoever said to me that I was wrong in saying that it will take until the next election to change things - you were right I now think.

Ditto my last post. Imagine being someone that when someone yells at them to 'duck' they demand to know that person's qualifications to state that - as the falling object hits their stupid head.

Tom (truck driver), Dick (plumber) and Harry (brick layer) who have recently turned into virologists and epidemiologists are requesting governments by posting in the forum where 80% people show full range of DUnning-Krugger syndrome.
The vast majority of people diagnosed with Dunning-Krugger syndrome are over educated idiots who became experts. But that is not the really sad part of your post obviously means to insult those criticising the Covid experts. Imagine living your life and only ever doing what the experts say to do and only think what the experts tell you to think. Now that is sad. Always wanting to be protected and told what to do - and always able to blame someone else. I can remember being that young. Long long time ago. I see millennials like that all the time. 30 year old pre-teenagers.

It's happening all over the US. I cant speak for other countries, as I have no direct knowledge. But in the US, the books are being cooked. With all those trillions of "relief" dollars available to cities that can report the highest numbers, political greed will reign supreme. You think these hospitals that are currently hemorrhaging millions with no elective surgeries scheduled, aren't going to snag every dollar available?
Fudged? Deliberate manipulation!
The N.Y.C. Death Toll went past 10,000 in Revised Virus Count because the Dems in control of the City added more than 3,700 additional people who were presumed to have died of the coronavirus but had never tested positive. That is right - added to the death toll but never tested positive.
Quote: "New York City, already a world epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, sharply increased its death toll by more than 3,700 victims on Tuesday, after officials said they were now including people who had never tested positive for the virus but were presumed to have died of it. The new figures, released by the city’s Health Department, drove up the number of people killed in New York City to more than 10,000, and appeared to increase the overall United States death count by 17 percent to more than 26,000."
"Three thousand more people died in New York City between March 11 and April 13 than would have been expected during the same time period in an ordinary year, Dr. Oxiris Barbot, the commissioner of the city Health Department, said in an interview. While these so-called excess deaths were not explicitly linked to the virus, they might not have happened had the outbreak not occurred, in part because it overwhelmed the normal health care system."

If anyone ever doubted how low the Dems and their supporting media would go to make Trump look bad - there it is.
And for all those doubters who claimed that the Covid deaths reported are all definitely due to Covid, and the claims otherwise were conspiracy rubbish - there it is.

Regards JobKeeper payments it's at the discretion of the employer if they wish to pay superannuation or not. it is not unusual for employers in the SME world not to pay super even in 'normal' times, the approach being you want the job or not.
Sorry mate - not true anymore. Now anyone earning over $400 per month must have a Super account created by their employer and Super must be paid on top of their salary. That is why many 'cash' businesses have part-timers who only work a few hours/days. Labor wanted to make it compulsory for $1 salary - idiots - how to stop small businesses employing part timers.

My guess is that the large majority of the ones who are in favour of a prolonged lock down are retirees, or people who can afford to live without having to go out to work.
I am confident that they would quickly change opinion if/when surrounded by a hungry, angry mob.
I agree - and living in a village with their Thai family - easy peasy.
Hope they have good locks on their house if/when the villagers run out of food/money.

So the outcome so far is 50/50.
65 say BS/Too Far
62 say OK/Not Enough
But I am of the opinion that the 10 who voted Not Enough are just 'having a go'.
People locked in house and not allowed to travel and tested entering shops and distance minimums - that is not enough?
Or perhaps they mean that too many people are not complying with the rules.
Or are they saying open internment/correction camps and lock them all away?

Don't have the knowledge to reply regards your specific employment scenario - have you contacted the ATO for clarification on T&Cs. I found the ATO constructive trying to sort out a situation for my wife re JobSeeker. Employers are required to nominate employees who have to agree to being on the JobKeeper program. Funds are required to be transferred in full to the employees bank account once the ATO gives go-ahead for the employee, employers must not keep funds destined for employees, though can guarantee fraud will occur; refer below. The benefit of JobKeeper besides more money than JobSeeker, is you retain your job, so don't have to search for a job once the Covid crisis is over when there will be thousands looking for employment.
Already fraud underway with JobKeeper by some employers. e.g. friend of my wife who is a casual and met the criteria for JobKeeper was informed by his employer once the $1500 per fortnight hits his account he must give back in cash to the employer the additional money above his usual casual pay. The employee will be taxed on the full $1500.00. The employee complied to the extortion as he is concerned will not be able to quickly find a job after Covid. Despicable behaviour by some employers.
Centrelink staff don't dictate criteria for welfare payment.
Checked all this out for a friend - spoke to ATO and Business.gov (took forever)
The $1500 is before tax and it goes to the employer - who then removes taxes super etc. and then 'pays' the employee. It is then reported like a normal salary payment. The employee receives it as any normal salary payment from the employer.
If the employee is still working and is usually paid say $2000 a fortnight, then the employer pays the gap.
If the employee is laid off and not working, the employee gets $1500 pre tax and that is all that is paid to employee (unles on leave etc. of course).
If the employee normally earns less than the $1500 the employer still gets the full payment of pre-tax $1500 and must pay the employee at that rate.
The employer can either pay the employee and get money from ATO, or can wait for the money from ATO and then pay the employee.
One thing was not clear - who pays the Super amount. Normally it is paid by the employer - but if the employee is not working and the business is closed then surely the super payment would come out of the $1500 - I did not ask that one.
According to this site below, the amount payable to the employee is $1308 after tax - but that is if the Super ($142.50) is paid by the employer. If I am an employer and the business is closed, I would pay the Super out of the $1500 - so the money to the employee would be $1166 a fortnight.
https://www.ayers.com.au/tax-calculator/
Those on jobseeker get $520 a fortnight (normal) plus another $550 due to Covid - total of $1070.

Worst case? Those are the actual numbers!!! and they will likely be significantly higher for the following 6 weeks, even though the rate of increase has begun to decrease. Who knows what they would be if governments hadn't taken steps to promote social distancing. They would likely be much much higher.
And the real number dying is likely to be at least 30-40% higher than the official death toll too
4 billion infections? 200 million dead? this is what you are claiming is being said. I am not seeing these numbers but these would be worst case numbers. Unfortunately the media tends to publish those in their headlines when models or scientists give a range. Those scientists usually say that the upper and lower numbers of their range are very unlikely but the media publish them anyway and often don't properly explain that. Perhaps we can agree that the media should be a bit more careful with their headlines.
I'm not against intelligent measures to start reopening things. Lots of European countries already planning things for the next few weeks.
Worst case - means at the same rate for 52 weeks (or more).
200 million was what was being said as the worst case scenario.
Yes the media only highlighted the upper numbers - and the worst cases (Italy etc) - and that is what caused the panic/meltdown.
We agree there - gradual planned and monitored reopening - where warranted.

bs. Access to clean food and water has done that. Proper hygiene. Plumbing and electricity.
Amazing isnt it that some people think all people with Degrees and PHDs actually do anything or understand anything.
Add sewerage systems to your list - undervalued completely. All places that do not have that, have lower life expectancies.
And the biggy is all the drugs discovered and made by individuals and drug companies in order to make profits in a capitalistic free-market system. I recommend everyone watch: Pain, Pus and Poison: The Search for Modern Medicines.

I have met many of them too - they have a degree so they think they know everything - many are useless in the real world.
Knew a bloke who went straight from School to Uni to PHD and then Prof at the same Uni - totally without any common sense or ability to understand how things work. He moved about 100K inland because global warming was going to raise ocean levels. That was in the 90s - ocean still exactly where it was 30 years ago - last any of us heard about him.

I was saving those for later - but lib tharrrd is banned I believe - same as T D S.
Not as many good pubs in Aussie anymore - so many were turned into 'enetrainment' venues in the 80s and 90s.
Many times I went with mates to a pub and met the locals and had a chat and listened to some live music - days are gone.

Guidelines look good. trump must have finally let the epidemiologists and other relevant specialists do their work without political interference.
What power / actions available does the US Federal government have if a state doesn't follow the recommendations?
Not a lot - one of the biggest problems wit the system in USA. The States are very much in charge unless it is an issue that the SCOTUS has determined to be a Federal matter. Very different that UK or Aust where the 'Federal' Govt has broad and sweeping powers. States can decide how they run their voting systems - no national register or control. States run the hospitals, police, and most services - Federal level cannot control/mandate how they do it either.
