  1. Man I feel for you. Suffered from Mouth ulcers from childhood, to some point I just grew out of it can't remember having one for years. Usually just small ones inside the mouth, but once I had a huge deep one on my tongue, could hardly eat.

The only thing that hastens healing is I would go to my Doctor who would apply a silver nitrate swab. (Burns like hell) Those may be available at a medical supply or Pharmacy.

  2. I upload my Photos from my iPhone to my iMac for storage.

Usually when I plug into my iMac, iTunes and Photos recognizes my Phone, but photos does not see any "new" photos to import.

I restart my iPhone and it works. Today however Photos and iTunes (on the Mac) does not show my iPhone at all.

I have restarted both devices several times

Support forum says to de-authorize and then re-authorize the devices. I did the Mac still nothing.

  3. Yes, it's not that complicated, and thanks for clarifying. So here's the two groups for comparison.

Group 1: Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists. Believe in establishing an Ethno-State in the USA, where only White people are allowed. Preparing for an upcoming war they hope to spark. Actively campaigning to build their movement from the dark side of the internet to where they can be out in the open and push for legitimacy. Believe in killing other people to achieve their goals and have done so on numerous occasions. Comprise approximately 2/3 of the domestic terrorism incidents in the USA over the last 9 years.

Group 2: Antifa. Believe in fighting only against racism, sexism and Anti-Semitism. Confine their activities to confronting Group 1 and similarly-minded people. Will use violence as a tool, but will not cross the line into killing. Actively campaigning to increase their numbers as well, but are not a political movement. Have caused some minor property damage and assaulted some individuals, none of whom have been severely injured or killed. No record of domestic terrorism in the USA over the last 9 years.

And you hate Group 2 more than Group 1. Yep, clear.

Re:Group 1's desired ethnostate. Not just white only they want it jew-free. The most ancient and persistent of the thoroughly discredited conspiracy theories. If you have the intestinal fortitude to sit through 20+ minutes without puking watch the VICE documentary video that went up with some of the organizers, David Duke and the like. Sounds like they motivated more by antisemitism than anything else
Absolute Un-American Nazi scum, nothing to do with Conservatism.

I'm sorry but I only see one small warning sign , if they expect big tourist groups , why do they keep the area open like that when it's very dangerous ?   It should have been a barrier to prevent people from doing stupid things.

The US has huge National parks. Not all places need large barriers and they would detract from natural beauty. I don't know how hot that water is there,  but tourists go off the trail and trample up the thermal crusty area with footprints  it can take DECADES to fix itself.

  5. I witnessed similar at  Noboribetsu (Hokkaido). Amazing place but , saw Thai women climb through a railing on one of the paths to take photos. One area up there on the had so much noxious gas coming out it is completely fenced off. I don't think the thermal crusts being damaged are a problem It is really active, they will come back soon (not like at that Yellowstone spot). The Thai women were on unstable hot sand right next to pits of bubbling hot mud and boiling water in girly shoes. Idiots!

The  Happy "From Thailand" gal sounds like she was drunk. The video taker got real close to an international incident. Thai man was being aggressive enough the American guy told his female companion to keep moving. One or two more Thai males there would have been a punch-up. Then they would get a good lesson in our justice system. In a public place (generally) one can film/photo anything or anybody. Such activities are protected by the first amendment of the Constitution of the United States. You can't go around threatening people or demanding "delete".

The 10,000 baht exemption is not universal.  There are still classes of good like alcohol and tobacco with limits that may be well below 10K.  And other classes like fresh food and other biological products that aren't allowed in at any value.  And try openly carrying 9,900 baht worth of weed and see what happens.

A nonsense post. Every country has specific limits on duty free alcohol and tobacco. No need to mention the obvious prohibition of prohibited items such as weapons, narcotics, and obscene items.

And I found out when I flew in to BKK last week the duty free exemption has been raised to 20,000 baht. Had another box with me, larger than my bag. Fortunately no hassles this time.

  7. I have never had to pay any import TAX or duty until recently one incident (see below) in July with speakers in a box. The day in July I think they had an operation in effect, pulling aside many people. They even had nice English speaking University students to help with the fleecing. I think it was just my bad luck. This month I brought even a bigger speaker box to Suvarabhumi, no problem.

This is over about 10 years furnished a whole Condo. Many items brought from abroad, flying in almost monthly. I always arrive from Japan at about the same time of afternoon. Including 4 or 5 bicycles new and lightly used to BKK and even direct to Chiang Mai (have a reputation for strict customs checks) via KE from Incheon.  I don't think you will have a problem but once they got you in their sights,  you have no choice but to pay. More and more people seem to be traveling with bikes. Here in Chiang Mai has attracted tribes of youtube internet vegans (unfortunately) , all on nice bikes.

I Stated Thapae would be easy, lucky to get to Warorot Market, which is a five minutes walk further, but almost never Panthip, Airport Plaza, or a long list of other places in Mueang, but if you consider "in town" to be just the Old City and its perimeter, yes they will do that for twenty, but not at night.  But, Mueang is the central city, and most of it would not be covered.  Daytime circus pant/body odor/Chinese tourists tours:  twenty baht.  Oh, and since it is August, you can include look a like Eurotrash couples with inbred kids.

    Yep thanks, bad eyes.

August. Thursday airport arrivals looked like a scene from the Star Wars Cantina, do they sit the Israelis and Arabs on opposite sides of the plane? The sulking teenage girl screaming at her Mother in Italian at Starbucks in town reminded me I'm happy with my vasectomy.  Family vacation looks like sooo much fun.

  9. They won't take you to a long list of places for twenty...especially from Nimman...including airport piazza, worrorat market, and panthip piazza.  Thapae Gate, pretty easy.

The idea they won't take you from Nimman to Thapae ( or Warorot Market) for 20 is something new to me in the 10 years or so I have been doing it and 15 baht before that.

  10. Yes. But hassles waiting and drivers who cancel suddenly. I use UBER at night and for longer distances. This week in the morning went from AUA a village area well beyond Borsang. Perfect service, fare about 260 baht. How much would the well dressed gentleman in gold rimmed glasses with shiny Songthaews setting their traps on in front of M hotel demanded??

  11. Whoever said the helicopter just lowers rescuers who hook a cable to it and fly away have no idea what they are talking about. Men on the ground have to fully asses the wreckage and secure and prepare it for movement(ensure it is freed from obstructions) prior to longline operations.

Helicopters have performance limitations. They can't just pull on something until it moves. They have to be operated in a way that allows for cable drop and egress in case of trouble. Difficult in a canyon maybe?

They are very unstable in winds and turbulence also

The risky things you see with rescues on the high seas would not be attempted to remove wreckage and or human remains.

  12. Last two days I stopped 4 or 5 cars before giving up. Maybe I'm unlucky but it has has been sudden and noticeable. Either just too many tourists here or Nimmanhaemin has been set as a designated racist pricing zone. 3x -5x set fare demanded to go short distance. Waste of time I'd better to take a Tuk-Tuk. They don't care if you speak Thai.

Yesterday at 11:30 AM for example to go to Thapae gate have up and walked to Huay Kaew road. No problem with the first car that stopped none if this "ki kon" garbage when it is obvious it is just one person.

  13. Why did they careen off a cliff (too fast, my phen rai)? Swift Water rescue team Americans with best training and unlimited resources, useless, give us Visas. King River, high flow from record snowpack, no problem. The Thais could probably pull it off actually. Have you ever seen workers cancel a job due to safety concerns or lack of proper equipment?
