Bangkok's Skytrain Future Under Review as City Hall Acts
As a regular visitor to Bangers I would say the Skytrain is about the best thing there. Indispensable, fun and cheap.

US Man Detained After Taking Photos Near Military Airport
Probably preparing a war series for his daily broadcast. No idea of what the local security people might think about that. Morons proliferate on the Net.

Poll: Do you think that the USA is in its GOLDEN AGE?
Looked at from outside, as a non-Usofan, it's difficult to see anything there but decline: - poor & declining (relative? absolute?) life expectancy - loss of economic ascendancy as Chinese energy, vision & technical capacity surge forward - loss of strategic power (Europe, Africa, SE Asia ... ), the closest & warmest allies (Oz) increasingly hesitant & looking for a bob each way, the formerly 'subordinate' allies stretching their wings & constructing new strategic structures (Europeans, Japanese, Oz ...) - loss of social cohesion as political extremism & violence grow ... Not much left to admire.

Canada's Carney Under Fire for British Spelling in Docs
As an Australian I find I use an 's' one day and a 'z' the next, barely noticing. People should embrace the cultural richness of our modernity.

Extention of stay retirement renewal.
In answer to your 1st question: I have no idea. Not relevant for me. The annual trip to my doctor's clinic to get the new certificate is a 5-minute stop on the way to Immigration (yawn). As to the rest [OA vs non-O], this is a matter that some people (Dr Jack every time) love to raise. The health insurance matter is not an issue for me. At age 76 & 99% healthy 100% of the time I still need health insurance for the time when, and getting it ab initio in advancing years becomes more & more difficult. So I see no reason to change there (though I'm interested in possibilities that produce actual cover rather than a long list of not-covereds). Apart from that I don't see any advantage to changing over from OA-based stay. I can't be bothered with the administrative rigmarole involved in the change for no real gain to me.

Nida poll shows most Thais undecided on PM, party choice
It would be looking good if PP had over 50% of the intended vote, in which case it could form a government without conceding powers to other parties. But it doesn't and it won't.

Sondhiya Urges Trump to Apologise & Stop Intervening in Thailand
Nice to see a Thai citizen saying sensible things and taking sensible action. If it happened a billion times more often Thailand would be a vastly better place ... for ALL its citizens.

Extention of stay retirement renewal.
Your original question was: Which Immigration Office requires medical certificate? Answer: The Surin Immigration Office requires a medical certificate every year (dated within the last 4 or 5 days) as well as the 3M฿ health insurance for the next 12 months. I don't think I can be clearer than that.

Nida poll shows most Thais undecided on PM, party choice
On the figures quoted the PP does NOT have the numbers to form a government. What it has is the numbers to make the first attempt to form a government by forming alliances with other parties that have always been and remain hostile to PP and its aims to reform Thai government and administration in preparation for entering the late C20th. On the performances of the last several years PP may even succeed in forming a government for at least 5 minutes before the rats all scuttle off to richer pastures.

Thailand Rules Out Ceasefire Until Cambodia Ends Hostilities
And adding to EZFlip's response: The notion of 'everyone' doing what the governments dictates is not really a Thai concept. Everyone looks after themselves & their sprawling families and friends & bugger everyone else. So in my family we now have FIL & BIL still at the farm looking after the animals, and other olds & children & active adults distributed across various family homes and government tents from Buriram to Si Sa Ket. Now that my b/f & I have returned from BKK I expect we'll start receiving family members over the next couple of days. We have oodles of room, made easier by the fact that they ALL insist on sleeping on the floor. 'Bed?' what dat?
