  1. Thanks, but this doesn't help me. I don't have a yellow house book, I have a blue one. I don't have an extension because I'm a Permanent Resident. The car's blue book has my name in Thai and my Thai ID, which starts with an '8', signifying naturalized Thai citizens and Permanent Residents. Thanks anyway.
  2. An Internet search on docs required bring up many entries, but I didn't see anything about docs required when the seller has PR. For example, one site says: The Buyer needs to bring the following to the Land Transport Office: Vehicle Vehicle ownership booklet (green book which has been signed by the Seller) Passport Signed copies of passport info page and visa page Residence Certificate from Immigration or your embassy (OR a work permit) Application form signed by the seller (form available at the office) In addition, you’ll need either of the following from the Seller: Signed copy of national ID card if the seller is a Thai citizen Signed copy of passport info and visa pages if the seller is a foreigner Residence Certificate from Immigration or your embassy OR a work permit* if the seller is a foreigner. I'm the seller, and my car's Blue book has my Thai ID number and my name in Thai. Nothing about my passport. So, should I use the docs for a Thai citizen? That is, my Thai ID and my house's Blue Book? The DLT here in Chiang Rai sometimes doesn't know proper procedure and they have to call another authority. Thank you in advance.
  3. I stopped into a local (Chiang Rai) Thai Watsadu and they now had real wood baseboards, which they had not carried previously. Maybe the Thai Watsadu chain will be carrying that product throughout Thailand. Maybe check again.
  4. I just went into Kodi and switched my Skin to Xenon. I was then able to go back to Estuary by: 1. Go into the 'Switch Skins' menu. Then scrolled down and choose 'Estuary'. Confirm. or: 1. Go into 'Xenon Matrix' menu 2. Choose 'Interface Settings' 3. Choose 'Skin' 4. Choose 'Estuary' from the list 5. Confirm.
  5. I don't know if I can be of much help because I reverted to the standard interface (Estuary) quite a while ago. It was not intuitive. One of the menus, maybe system, and it was not 'interface', it was 'skin' in a different submenu from Interface. I suggest that you go into the main Xenon menus which sound promising and look in the submenus.
  6. In case anyone is interested, my wife was able to source the part from a Facebook group dedicated to that vehicle model. Several members of that group had a used part in stock, and said that they could get their hands on a new one but it would take a month. If anyone is looking for car parts, this seems to be a good option.
  7. Wise sent an update and said they won't have the money in my SCB account until 2pm tomorrow, August 2.
  8. I think so. I also used Wise to send $54,000 (equivalent to Wise's maximum of 2m Baht, which I assume is either SCB or BOT maximum for online transfers) on the 29th, and Wise said it would be in SCB on August 2.
  9. I recently used some of the WPC (Wood plastic Composite) from Thai Watsadu and to me, it looks like real wood that has been painted with a glossy paint. As for door/window casings, I couldn't find any good ones, anywhere. I again used some WPC from Thai Watsadu, but had to be careful installing it because it was hollow. Finished product looked OK. I looked all over (in Chiang Rai) and couldn't find anything better. For a different house in Chiang Rai several years ago, I did find some colonial style door casings at a wood supplier, but they were pine. Our house is in an area that has lots of termites but so far, so good. Perhaps because we didn't use real wood anywhere else other than doors and door frames. In the Bangkok suburbs, there used to be an area of Bang Sue that had many wood shops and I THINK they had wood for sale. You might want to try there.
  10. I sent $5,000 from Wise US to SCB on the 28th, at 05:55 Thailand time. Wise says expected delivery on August 1.
  11. I would do the Udon to Loei to Nan to Chiang Rai. Take the northernmost route from Loei to Chiang Rai. Beautiful, curvy roads, sometimes on the crests of mountain ranges. I've taken this route several times, as recently as 3 weeks ago.
  12. I just initiated a $5,000 transfer from Wise US to SCB. At the start, it said that the money would be in SCB within 7 hours. When finished, it said it should be there by August 1. Strange delay.
  13. About a month ago, the auto dealer (ex-Chevy dealer but still services Chevys) ordered a replacement part for the air conditioning. At the time, the dealer said that there was a 2 month back-order, so I had them order the part. Today they called and said that the part is now unavailable, anywhere, and suggested that we find a used one. (Not great that they didn't try to find it themselves.) So my question is, where can I find a Chevy used auto part. (I'm in Chiang Rai and assume I won't be able to find it locally.)
