  1. For Future Info, this is the URL: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/international-taxpayers/foreign-currency-and-currency-exchange-rates I used the Yearly Average Currency Exchange Rates link close to the bottom of the page.
  2. The specs for my filter (Emaux V900) say either 4 (25kg) bags of Coarse EcoClear or 11 (25kg) bags of Fine EcoClear. (I am convinced EcoClear is the best media based on what I've read in this forum.) 1. It seems that the price per bag is the same for each, so why would I not use the coarse rather than the fine? 2. Is there any advantage to using more, eg, 5 bags of coarse instead of 4? Thank you.
  3. In the almost 3 years since my wife bought a Benz, it's cost us a total of less than 10,000 baht and it's been very reliable. Had a few minor issues, all covered by warrantee and serviced immediately when we drove in without an appointment. The service at the Chiang Rai Benz dealer has been fantastic. Next car will definitely be bought from them.
  4. There used to be a large repair center on the top floor of Old Siam Shopping Center, in Ban Mo and it's probably still there. I think they could fix anything. https://goo.gl/maps/k4yetv8QLNjxcfes6
  5. I've used them all with shipments from the US. With DHL, I've always gotten wacked with the largest customs fees so I never use them any longer. I've had good results with FedEx. I now use the USPS Global facility as it's cheaper, pretty quick, and have always had good results with customs.
  6. The owner of a famous Chiang Rai restaurant told me Tuesday night that he received a 2 page letter from the Governor, saying alcohol allowed but all staff and customers need to be fully vaxxed, effective yesterday.

  8. I also have been using it for a while with no problems, and at the beginning, dealt with them several times to figure out the best IPTV app to use, and the best platform to use it on.
  9. I use IPTVeros, based on a few recommendations here. It has something like 17,000 channels and cost about $70/year. I'm running tivimate on 2 Firestick 4k Maxes, the new version released in October. With it the max, I can use Wi-Fi 6. It's been running really well so far. I use 3bb fiber, 1000mbps down and 500mbps up (I think).
  10. I used IPTV Smarters Pro for a short time as it seemed to be buffering a lot. I then changed to Tivimate which was quite a bit better on my Amazon Firestick. On my Windows 11 PC, I use the built in app : MYIPTV Player, which is great except I don't seem to be able to get the recording working. (You need to use the VLC engine if you want to record.)
  11. I don't remember if Win 10 has this capability, but Win 11 has the ability to attach the snipping tool to the PC's PrtScr key, so hit the PrtScr key and the Snipping tool opens. Easier to remember than Windows-Shift-S.
  12. Another source, THE 2021 COSTS OF CONSTRUCTIONS FOR THE REPLACEMENT COST NEW, by Thai Appraisal and Estate Agents Foundation. http://www.thaiappraisal.org/english/the2001/default.php One file attached. Maybe similar data to the PDF in post above. used_cost_eng-1.pdf
  13. I installed Windows 11 on 2 of my laptops, which are high-spec Dell XPS 15's. I installed during the first hours it was available, so I've been using it for a week already. No problems at all, and the way the settings, etc are organized seem much easier to use. Easier to find what I need to find. I'm an experienced user so I'm not really worried of getting myself out of trouble, if any arise. First, download the Media Creation Tool for windows 11, from a Microsoft Site, run it, and choose to create an ISO during the process. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
  14. I transferred everything to my new area, all in accordance of how things are supposed to work. I was 3 years into my 5 year period at time of transfer. When I went for my 5-year notice to the local police station, the police 'specialist' said it would take a day to do all the paperwork, but my wife and thought he was asking for time to find out how to process this because he never did it before. A few hours later, he called and said everything was all set and for us to go pick up my documents. When we arrived, I had to pay a small 'fine' because he said that when I transferred, it was only good for one year from the transfer, not the original 5 year period, even though the red book was dated such that it was good until the original 5-year period date. Nowhere in the red book did it show the 1 year date after transfer, but I was 'fined' because I renewed after the 1-year anniversary of the transfer. The 'fine' was small and clearly no one in the police station knew the rules, so I just paid the fee and fine.
  15. My first jab was AZ and my second was scheduled for next week. I received a call from the (government) hospital where I received my first jab, and they asked if I wanted Pfizer as my second. I readily accepted the offer and had the Pfizer jab the next day. I now have the official certificate showing AZ as my fist and Pfizer as my second. So it is possible.
  16. We were very happy with their price and service. They have several locations in Thailand, and they sent installers from Chiang Mai to our house in Chiang Rai. They came twice, once in preparation to makes sure the floors are level and the sizes are correct, and second time to install. Could not have been better. After sale service was great as well. A worker broke some floor moldings about a year after installation so I contacted the vendor about having some replacement sent. They promptly did so,
  17. From their Facebook page: https://www.vistaintertrade.com/
  18. When we were looking at vinyl flooring about 3 years ago, we found one place, Vista Flooring, that had vinyl considerably thicker than all of the other places. Maybe try them. https://www.facebook.com/VistaFloor/
  19. My Wi-Fi Plug14 worked well for over a year, but it stopped working about a week ago. I tried resetting it and it doesn't even send out any wi-fi signal, so it's kaput. I contacted the MUST Thailand distributer in Rayong, who I bought all of my solar equipment from, and asked to purchase a replacement. He ignored my emails. I then contacted him through Lazada chat and he replied after a day. His reply was a brief "I can't help you". I've now filled out the quote form on the China MUST site but no response as of yet. I wonder if I can use a different company's wi-fi data logger but I'm guessing that the firmware is vendor specific.
  20. Dealers prefer you finance because they get a cut of it. No matter which brand you buy, they will try and steer you to financing. When I bought an MB a year ago, they tried to get me to finance even though I told them from the start that I will pay cash.
  21. I did, but I made an appearance in my state's Superior Court for the judge to approve the divorce and final settlement. I did everything else from Thailand. It went very smoothly as my ex and I agreed to a 'Collaborative Divorce', which requires specially trained attorneys. I don't know if I had to be present at the court hearing, but I was in the US anyway for a holiday visit and so the hearing was scheduled for when I was there.
