  1. Many times, I have seen the exact item, from the exact same shop, considerably cheaper on Shopee than Lazada. I hardly ever by from Lazada any longer.
  2. A couple of things I failed to mention about Stackry: It's free They have several locations throughout the US, which you can choose from. I chose New Hampshire because it has no sales tax and Stackry's location is close to Logan Airport in Boston, so sometimes they ship through there.
  3. I used Stackry for years until I recently started having a family member tranship packages. Stackry was great. They process everything very fast. They can combine several packages into 1 in order to save costs. They give you several choices of which delivery service to use, such as USPS, FedEx, etc., and they display the costs and shipping timeframes of each. https://www.stackry.com/ I highly recommend them.
  4. We took one of the first flights, on October 28 from BKK. You must get off the plane in HKG with everything you brought on board, go through security, then go wait in the lounge until boarding from the HKG to LAX flight. You reboard the same plane and go to the same seat you had from BKK to HKG. Immigration and customs in LAX were very quick.
  5. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/palestinians-killed-israeli-strikes-safe-zones-exclusive-nbc-report-rcna148008 Other sources show that more than 50% of the Palestinians killed were in so-called "Safe Zones"
  6. I use American International Tax Advisors. They have US and Thailand tax specialists, but I don't know about Canadian specialists. I suggest you contact them and inquire. Service is great and the price is very reasonable. I used PWC in the past, and they were very expensive. AIT was significantly more responsive and much quicker. https://aitaxadvisers.com/
  7. About 3 months ago, my wife dropped her S20 Note Ultra and the screen then had a horizontal stripe where the screen had broken. I bought a replacement screen from Aliexpress for $70 and also a replacement Samsung battery for 400 baht. I had a local shop replace both for 700 baht. Everything seems to be working perfectly.
  8. Many people on Thanon Baanpa Pragarn (the main road) think that they have the right of way, but that's not necessarily true. Whoever is already in the roundabout has the right of way, as Ripstanley mentioned. I am extremely careful when I'm in the roundabout because probably 25% of the drivers there don't understand the rule and blow through it.
  9. As a matter of fact, you cannot pay your credit card bill from your savings account in one go if it's over 50,000 baht. You can only transfer a max of 50,000 per day even when it's between your own UOB accounts.
  10. It used to be that the content in the US is broader and more current than the content you get in Thailand. I believe that's still the case. I switched to a Thai Netflix account because I was tired of the VPN companies trying to keep up with Netflix blocking when Netflix found the VPN IP addresses. The US Netflix content that is not on Thai Netflix can be found on BitTorrent sites.
  11. Sorry, I don't remember but for sure it was not DHL because I've always had problems with them so I haven't used them in at least the past 15 years or so. For the past several years I've only used USPS but I don't remember exactly when I made that decision. With USPS, the most I've ever had to pay was 7% VAT.
  12. I bought that test kit in 2020 from Amazon and had it shipped to a relative in the US. She then forwarded it to me in Chiang Rai without any problems.
  13. I had to replace my Pirelli's at 42k kms and 2 years because 2 of the tires had small cracks on the inside sidewalls. One of the tires developed a slow leak and I immediately brought the car to B-Quik because it was next to the shopping mall we were going to. B-Quik could not find the problem until they removed all the tires and they then spotted small cracks in 2 of them. I would have expected better from 17.5k baht price per tire. I replaced all 4 with Michelins extra heavy duty and I assume they'll perform better.
  14. I recently used Qatar business class for a trip[ to Boston. It was fabulous, the best experience I've had by far. I've used many different airline in the past, such as EVA, American, United, Nippon, etc. For me, jet lag is worse for the Thailand => US thand for the return trip.
  15. I sent in my passport in late September and had exactly the same experience, same timeline, same delivery, same lack of entry in the Thai Post Office system.
  16. When my wife transferred some property about a year ago, they asked her if she was married. She answered 'no' because she knew I would then have to come in and sign a document. (She kept her maiden name for exactly this reason.) The Land Office said: 'Really? Who's this person xxx, who you married in Bangkok on xx/xx/xx? Wife replied, 'Oh, I forgot.' I then was called in to sign....
  17. Mae Fah Luang hospital is a government hospital. Also a teaching hospital. They have all of the newest equipment. Great service and is inexpensive. It's our government hospital of choice.
  18. I have used PIA for years but when they sent a notice of a rate increase, I turned off auto-renewal. They then responded with the $57 deal, which I took. I didn't need to use a different email address.
  19. Just a quick look implies that 5173 and 706-A do not apply, assuming you are a US citizen. https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/transfer-certificate-filing-requirements-for-the-estates-of-nonresidents-not-citizens-of-the-united-states Applicability The following transfer certificate filing requirements apply to the estate of a decedent who was neither a citizen nor a resident of the United States and who died after December 31, 1976.
  20. Are you using a US address on your Fidelity account? (Perhaps there may be restrictions if not; I don't know.) I would like to do the same as you're doing but I have listed a US address and am afraid to mess things up with my accounts.
  21. Years ago, I was able to list my wife as beneficiary on my Fidelity accounts without specifying a Social Security number or an ITIN. Maybe that's still the case and it's easy to do.
  22. I'm on my third Dell XPS 15, and all of them have had 4 K touchscreens. They've all been flawless. I like to replace them with newer models every five years or so. I mostly use the keyboard but the touchscreen comes in handy on various occasions, such as when I want to use a non-English keyboard.
  23. I've had Qatar business class flights that weren't Q-Suites and the seats were as good as the other carriers, if not better. For me, Q-Suites are a bonus, not a requirement.
  24. Qatar is currently rated number 1 in the world overall and number 1 for business class. (from news reports but I am in a hurry to source) But Google AI reports: "Qatar Airways takes the No. 1 spot again after falling second behind Singapore Airlines last year. It's a familiar position for the airline, which also claimed top honors in 2022, 2021, and 2019. This year, Qatar Airways also won awards for the best business class cabin and lounge."
  25. I recently used Qatar business class for a round trip from Bangkok to the US. Absolutely the best service and best equipment I've ever had, by far! Their Q-Suite is fantastic, better than any cubicle I've had before, on any airline. The Business Class lounge in Doha is huge! They have restaurants with waiters/waitresses who take your order. All free, of course. I couldn't recommend more highly.
