Photo by Adam Sacco via Flickr A Thai taxi driver in Samut Prakarn province near Bangkok took to Facebook to warn fellow drivers of a female passenger who has been known to poop in cars and then flee without paying. The driver shared dashcam footage and his story on a Facebook group called Taxi Drivers (Thailand) on Friday, April 14 with a caption that said… “Warning all taxi drivers! From Dongki Mall in Soi Thong Lor in Bangkok to Furng Fah Village in Samut Prakarn. I don’t want others to go through what I went through. The fare was 417 baht, but I didn’t get it and even have to pay for the car cleaning.” The video showed the driver travelling through a village where the passenger lived. Upon arrival at the destination, the middle-aged female passenger was heard saying… “I don’t have money to pay. My family is not home as well. I don’t know what to do. Hey, look at my head. Do you see? I have cancer, and I poop on your seat. It’s dirty, but I will get a cloth to clean it. It’s my karma. Let’s think that you do a good deed by giving me a free ride. OK? I don’t have any money.” The driver revealed more about the incident in the comments. He said… “She had the runs and my back seat was dirty. Motorcycle taxi riders in the village told me that no one dares to pick her up because she always excreted on every vehicle and never paid the fares.” The taxi driver added… Full Story: https://thethaiger.com/news/national/scat-woman-thai-taxi-drivers-warn-of-female-passenger-who-poops-in-car -- © Copyright Thaiger 2023-04-20 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Another Thai dish, phla kung, also won accolades, coming in ninth place. Sanook pointed out that Thailand’s som tam was ranked higher than Cambodia’s green papaya salad, bok l’hong, voted 30th best salad. TasteAtlas’s Top 10 Best Rated Salads in the World are… Dakos (Crete, Greece) Shopska Salad (Bulgaria) Mechouia Salad (Tunisia) Moravska salata (Serbia) Greek Salad (Greece) Som Tam (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam) Goma wakame (Japan) Ovcharska Salad (Bulgaria) Phla Kung (Thailand) Fattoush (Lebanon) According to TasteAtlas… “Som tam is a green papaya salad mostly associated with the northeastern part of Thailand (Isaan), though it is often suggested that it first appeared in Laos. Apart from thin strips of green papaya, this salad usually includes roasted peanuts, green beans, tomatoes, and a tangy sauce typically made with garlic, chilli peppers, fish sauce, dried shrimps, palm sugar, and lime or tamarind juice.” “The varieties are plentiful and can include various additions. The sauce can also appear in many other combinations, and can significantly vary in sweetness and spiciness. Numerous restaurants and street stalls allow the customers to choose the variety they prefer and adjust the ingredients to their preference.” Full Story: https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thailands-som-tam-voted-6th-best-salad-in-the-world -- © Copyright Thaiger 2023-04-20 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Photo via Facebook/ สถานีตำรวจภูธรไชยวาน Police in the Isaan province of Udon Thani came to the aid of a vagrant nine year old boy attempting to walk 18 kilometres back home. The boy fled his home due to an allegedly abusive father and was living alone in an abandoned house. On Tuesday, April 18, a 31 year old officer from Chai Wan Police Station, Anusorn Homhuan, rushed to help a driver whose car was broken down on the Baan Kham-Baan Kham Ror Road. While travelling back to the police station, the officer spotted a little boy, later identified as Beer, walking barefoot on the road. Anusorn stopped to speak to Beer and learned about the child’s situation. He offered to give Beer a ride home but was saddened to discover that the boy was living alone in a house with no pillows, blankets, furniture or electric appliances. Beer told Anusorn that he ran away from his father’s house to live alone because he abused him and did not let him go to school. He told the officer that he had to sneak out early in the morning if he wanted to go to school. So, he ran away from home. Beer said he survived by asking for food from his local temple and community, and sometimes he earned 50 to 60 baht by watering plants for his teacher. Similan Island, located in Phang Nga Province, is a popular tourist destination known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters and spectacular coral reefs. The island features unique rock formations, including a sail-shaped rock, a boot-shaped rock and one resembling the head of Donald Duck. Visitors can also enjoy various activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving and hiking to the viewpoint that provides a breathtaking view of the sea. The island’s sail-shaped rock and horseshoe-shaped bay are popular selfie spots among tourists. However, the northern part of the island is also worth exploring, as it boasts other uniquely shaped rock formations that continue to fascinate visitors.
