  1. Anyone can believe in Father Christmas, it is only a problem when they demand I believe also.
  2. Thanks for that, although it is hardly reassuring. I sent another query yesterday and two minutes after sending my telephone informed me that two months money had arrived at my bank. I am just appalled that they send out the life certificates surface mail. very 19th century!
  3. How many Brits are having a problem with their UK Pensions? My life certificate was posted to me, by surface mail, in January and was received in June. My pension had already been stopped due to no return of certificate. I got in touch with the pensions office and they sent an email with a life certificate attached. I duly returned this by registered mail and the post office tells me it was delivered on the 29th of May. I am getting no replies from The pensions office and am still not receiving a pension. Anyone else in the same boat?
  4. Perhaps you should ask those self same merchants for reparation instead of people alive now who had nothing to do with slavery. I will be willing to contribute towards the cost of repatriating the descendants of slaves back to their own countries when the Swedish, Norwegians, Danes, and Germans pay me for appropriating my ancestors land.
  5. The chart shows average country scores as low as 43. A score of 70 and below is considered mentally deficient. I'm sure some of these countries would be annoyed at these ratings.
  6. total rubbish. Across the whole world average IQ has to be 100, as this is what IQ is based on. The scores shown have too many less than 100 to average out the higher scores at 100+. The average score within a country will also always be 100.
  7. Legalisation moves drugs like cannabis away from dealers who sell many different types of drugs and try to get people to try drugs that are addictive as they then have returning customers who need their fix. None of those weed shops sell anything but weed and therefore the temptation to try something else is not available where the drug is purchased. Using alcohol is not a gateway to try other drugs which which give a similar high. It also allows for regulations to check for purity in the product, whereas illegal drugs on the street can be doctored with other things. Note the recent deaths of tourists who bought what they thought was coke but in fact was something lethal.
  8. Soap operas on mars, is this the extent of imagination?
  9. Never supported them but both wearing keffeyas that are associated both with Hezbollah and Hamas.
  10. Sorry but chips were not worth 1million baht, they may have had that as face value but you cannot sell them for that much
  11. the question is, where there power cuts, the grid is not a sink to pour lots of power into if there is no power used. It has always been a balancing act to match power generated to power used with, in the past, coal fired power stations kept on line, gas and oil shut down first, as they are easier to ramp power up and down and gas turbines used to generate quick boosts of power, as they could be run up and down quickly although more expensive. with modern methods of power generation, things must still be the same, most cost effective and hardest to shut down would stay on line whilst less cost effective and easier to shut down go off line first. After denationisation of the power generation and distribution things are probably worse as now costs are set by the various companies who own the power generation companies.
  12. first of all Diane Abbot should be thrown out of parliament for showing solidarity with a terrorist organisation, secondly if you are talking about immigrants they are not british therefore all conversations are racist. Maybe she confuses race with colour.
  13. HSBC used to have a limit of 10,000 pounds, per day, for international transfer. I had to send on multiple days for large amounts.
  14. why should Thailand bother. It is legal to buy here and it will only cost them money to prosecute and incarcerate, a telephone call or email is much cheaper.
  15. Muricans free speech end at its borders just like foreigners free speech ends when they cross us borders into the states. As in we don't like what you say visa revoked flight out.
  16. so, if consumption has increased by 300% (don't get me started that increases cannot be over 100%) this must be bringing in more tax revenue than before unless taxes were reduced to zero.
  17. The license is required for the following: Why you need a TV Licence: Other streaming services: While you don't need a licence to watch on-demand content on services like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, you do if you watch live TV on them Watching Live TV: This includes watching or recording any TV channel, pay TV service, or streaming service (like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Sky Go) as they are broadcast. Using BBC iPlayer: Even if you only watch on-demand content on BBC iPlayer, you need a TV Licence. and I think it is illegal to use one of those tv boxes that gets copyright material for free. so are these people not using a tv at all or is there some other thing to watch.
  18. If I remember correctly, when the Baht was 90 to the pound, it was because the government at the time floated the Baht on the market. This seems to mean that the Baht is not allowed to find its own level and is artificially set by the government/banks or what ever. The government said for weeks they would not devalue the Baht and excused the drop in value by saying they had allowed it to find its own value.
