Since its foundation in 1980, Australian Skeptics has been offering a cash prize to anyone who can prove they have psychic or paranormal powers and is able to demonstrate their ability under proper observing conditions. The offer has been made in an effort to seek out the truth of paranormal claims such as those of psychics, healers, witnesses to paranormal events and those selling devices which claim to defy scientific laws. If someone nominates another person, and that person is successful, then 20% of the prize may be awarded to the nominator.[ -

1968 convention (original) The convention had amendments on 3 September 1993 and 28 March 2006. There is a European Agreement supplementing the Convention on Road Traffic (1968), which was concluded in Geneva, on 1 May 1971. Note that before 29 March 2011 the convention demanded contracting parties to recognise as valid for driving in their territories: any domestic driver's permit drawn up in their national language or in one of their national languages, or, if not drawn up in such a language, accompanied by a certified translation; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Driving_Permit -
Phuket car rentals must verify tourist driving licenses
Dionigi replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
International Driving Permits are governed by three international conventions: the 1926 Paris International Convention relative to Motor Traffic, the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic, and the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. When a state is contracted to more than one convention, the newest one terminates and replaces previous ones. Thailand is a participent in the Paris and Geneva Conventions but not the Vienna. Phuket car rentals must verify tourist driving licenses
Dionigi replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
used to be here but now they insist on the IDP . The international convention now states that the license used must be in the official language of the country it is used in. hence the need for the IDP. -

Barred from Europe: 2.4m Brits caught in post-Brexit passport chaos
Dionigi replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Another storm in a teapot. The number of passports issued before 2018 and not having sufficient validity to meet the criteria must be very small as the extra length on the passports would only be 9 months. so only people whose passports were issued in a nine month period and had the nine months added and also wish to travel to europe during a short time frame fall into this category. -

Thailand’s population to halve in 60 years, warns deputy PM
Dionigi replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A higher birth rate in the past has led to a large elderly population now. Increasing the birth rate will only help in the short term as the increase will lead to the increase population eventually becoming elderly. Unless the government intends to constantly increase the population. This pyramid scheme will end up like all pyramid schemes, they go bust because they are unsustainable. Investment in technology and education with a decrease in rampant consumerism is the only way out. -
