  1. I just completed this quiz. My Score 20/100 My Time 58 seconds
  2. Really. Are you sharing? Do they price things reasonably? Thank You. I could see myself needing one, soon.
  3. Poor guy... I just got my first retirement extension of stay for one year last month and I'm HAPPY that I got it. I've had a marriage Non-O visa from Savannakhet and Cambodia for most of the last 10 years. When Ban Phu Nam Ron border crossing was open I enjoyed driving there every 3 months from Bangkok, now it's either a plane ticket 'somewhere' or a drive to Cambodia. No Thank You!!! I'll gladly do the Retirement extension and report every 90 days. Much cheaper and much safer.
  4. He may have thought he was talking to his child... sad, really
  5. PETA uses hyperbole and fantasy ideas to vilify this practice. Animals have been have been domesticate and used to help people for thousands of years. Focus on the owners who treat the animals harshly and leave the others alone. It's not that difficult.
  6. I thought about raiding my son's liquor corner here in the house, but my wise old friend, who owns 5 pubs in Bangkok warned me not to do that during these Buddhist's days. We must honour the customs and religion of the hosting country in which we live, otherwise, we might get struck by lightening, fall down the stairs or fall off our motorbike. (I don't want to stay indoors or upstairs, fortunately I don't own a cycle). No drinks for me this weekend. 5555 🤣
  7. I think you're right, which is why they just tack welded it instead of a full bead. It looks to me the wrong metal and possible the wrong amperage, too. I've no solution (I don't know any welders in Thailand anymore) for your problem, but I see it as a problem just as stubuzz did.
  8. It wouldn't surprise me if it was the security guard... Actually, more than likely it is someone with the condo management staff. (maintenance?) You definitely need to solve it with them to get a solution long term.
  9. There use to be a Tony Roma's on the second floor of a building that was situated between Sukhumvit Soi 3/1 and Soi 5. I'd get a window seat in their little bar and look out on all the goingons just below my feet and across the street, but I liked their long island ice teas.
  10. You've gotten a number of good comments. The Thai DL has your Thai address on it. After they started putting that on them, I dropped my US DL and quit getting an International permit. Never had any more problems.
  11. Wow.. I'm shocked at the replies. I think Mr. Kennedy responded in a kind and very mature way. Why do you people believe this woman, but not Tara Reade, who accused Sen. Joe Biden of sexually harassing and assaulting her in 1993? Those of you who denigrated Kennedy are pathetic, sycophants for P. J. Biden.
  12. Been ages since I was in Hua Hin, but from what I remember the layout is much simpler. There fewer foreigners, too. Those who are there seemed to bring their foreign riding rules with them. Pattaya people seem to think they can follow what they think are Thai rules of the road, which leads to the recklessness.
  13. I tried to explain that to my son when he drinks and don't drive when smoking pot and drinking. He has a thick head... Those places saved me a bunch. (of headaches, etc.)
  14. I am hesitant to comment since it's been a few years since I've needed a Non-B, but here goes. If you have the requirements satisfied to obtain a Non-B, you can go to any of the consulates or embassies in the Asia Pacific area. Personally, I would not go to the KL because it was always so, so crowded. Phnom Penh takes 5 days/4 nights to get a Non B. I liked Singapore the best or Penang. Your next best choice might be Vietnam. Bon voyage!
  15. I married her. We bought a house. We spent all the money (except my pension) and then she got a job. I'm too old to start over again. I love Thailand cause I don't have to have all the idiocy of the West shoved in my face. The house is paid up, free and clear. I couldn't live this cheap in the West. 'She' let's me stay.
  16. I only recognize Golf Clubs!!
  17. We have no idea what type of night club entertainment that you might like. There are some great "Thai" clubs on Ratchadapisek (or were and I'm sure by now have re-opened) that are full of Thais and a few falangs. They play Thai and English music (live bands mostly). Then there are the clubs in and around Sukhumvit Soi 11, which are mostly DJ (I think). I haven't been out and around for years, so this may not be very accurate anymore. Oh and my son was hanging out in some clubs in the Thonglor area, mostly for people in the under 35 bracket (he's 21) and finally... RCA 'alley'. How young, I don't know, I've only driven through that area to get to the Tops market or take a short cut from Petchburi Rd to Rama 9. I suggest you google "Bangkok night club areas".
  18. I use to do that, and enjoyed the drive when it was convient to Myanmar. The civil war ruined that. I tried one trip to Cambodia, but faced exactly what, Khun Jose, states below. I lost money and plus had the worry of the Thai drivers, who can be very scary. I'm so glad I've gone the agent and retirement extension route. I'll miss the drives to Myanmar (Ban Phu Nam Ron border crossing), but not much.
  19. Yes, that's the company. I realized last night that I had one other place to look. I just tried but, I had a problem opening the Outlook type mail app. Now, I don't have to waste anymore time on it. Good luck.
  20. I bought some hanes t shirts and briefs a few years ago and had them shipped to me from the US. Sadly, I cannot remember the company and a quick search (of more than 30 minutes in my gmail acct), I've not been able to find the correspondence with that company. The t-shirts and underwear were almost sale priced, but the shipping was a bit pricy. (well more than a bit, but it was better then Amazon). I think I started my search with only "but Hanes t-shirts" without my VPN on. But I've tried that this evening and nothing has jumped out and juggled my memory. Sad I couldn't help.
  21. I fall to understand why you would ask this question when I did not elude to speaking Thai. I do speak a little Thai to address your question, but understand very little when spoken to me. I learned from the office Secretaries, took lessons from a teacher for 2-3 months in my office, bar girls a little bit, my boss (a falang) and golf course caddies. My wife didn't want me to learn any more than my skills when we meet, because she was afraid I'd have too many girlfriends.
  22. Now we know where Somchai's votes went to.
  23. Wow. He (or she) disappeared quick.
  24. I never feared getting any sexually transmited anything. I boom boomed a lot in the first15-16 years, sometimed sheathed, sometimes not.
