Northeast of Bangkok in the NC Group properties that are situated around or near Thanya Golf Club. Our security is excellent. We only have some small annoyances with noise, which comes mostly from the temple Northeast from the properties. (They almost always shut down by 23:59 hours, but usually around 22:00 hours). I've lived here 19 years. NC Group have opened new projects East of us, South of the golf course. There are a number of houses available in my Village for resale. People move... Some houses built as speculation, but never lived in... The area is off Lamlukka highway Soi 71, or as we know it Lamlukka 71. Drive North on 71 about 2 kms. Village 2 is about 3 kms.

At the end of your 'cycle' (30-31 days, 28-29 days in Feb), you pay your bill, which will then allow you to charge again that month. If you don't pay on time, you get a 'blemish', demerit, whatever you want to call it. They'll stop any additional charges until you pay up to bring your deposit to $1,000, etc.

Go look up, Doug, from "Bourbon Street" restaurant. That's on Sukhumvit Soi 63, Ekkamai 9/39-40, Tana Arcade Alley, Klongton Nua, Bangkok. His wife runs it now, but I think he comes around pretty steady in the mornings. (I believe it was a partnership with another American when they started it. And I do not believe his wife was involved back then.)

When we bought our house in 2005 we bought a Sofa, Love seat Sofa and matching chair. (I think we purchased them from a furniture shop in "The Mall Bang Kapi". I'll have to ask my wife. That was too many years ago for me... All 3 items look like they just came off the show room floor. (I love sleeping on the sofa. They armrest is just the right height). 😉

I was driving into SCB bank's ATM entrance on Asoke (near Asoke Tower Condominium) when I saw this 'beast' python progressing down the drive away from Asoke (toward the khlong or the drainage ditch). I was shocked, it 'must' have just passed the security's booth nearer to Asoke or come out of one of the rain drains. My estimate...4.25-5 mtrs long. It was big.

I have had both of my hip joints replaced. The first was done at Ramkhamhaeng Hospital, which is a private hospital, but more for middle to middle upper class Thais. My Doctors were Dr. Ratchata Tangsiriphat and Dr. Songat Limpiwatki. They did a great job and kept me in the hospital for a week to monitor the incision healing (drainage) and for physical therapy from a US educated Thai PT. (not sure he's still there and I don't have his name). This was in 2008. I've had overall a good experience. The cost at that time was around USD11,000.00. In 2018 I had my other hip replaced in the US (Houston). The day of my surgery I was required to shower (at my domicile) using the cleansing techniques described in a pre-op training conducted by orthopedic nurses. I then traveled to the hospital. I think about 16-18 of us were lined up on gurneys in a preop room. The Doctor came through, marked up the hip (to be sure he operated on the correct hips) and made to wait while the surgeries were done like an assembly line. Once 'we' had completed recovery, each person was put in the hospital room. The next morning catheters were removed and a therapy session was conducted to be sure you understood how and what to do. You were then released to your friend or family who would drive you home. For Medicare in the US now, you don't even get to over night in the hospital. I will say that the surgery went well, but I've had much more pain in that hip than the one done in Thailand. (Oh, and the bill to Medicare and my secondary insurance was over $30,000.00.
